Free delivery with Burt Bee's gift sets with BEEMERRY valid until 23rd November.

OhCobblers · 08/11/2014 16:31

We have an advent box that I normally fill but ends up costing a fortune plus a ton of hassle finding items that fit. Last year I filled it with playmobil advent calendar parts, any suggestions on what to fill it with this year? Apart from the obvious Choc which they would probably be more than happy with thank you!

RJnomore · 08/11/2014 16:33

Hermione, superdrug have 15% off iTunes until the 11th.

Im debating whether to buy them or whether to hold out in the hope of a better offer - what do you all think?

4lovelychildren · 08/11/2014 16:35

We are having a piece of paper each day with Christmas activity we can do on it. Mumsnetters have given me help to compile a great list.

happsymum · 08/11/2014 16:39

Probably v wishful thinking Blush but do they ever do xbox one points discounted? Like £20 for £15?

PandasRock · 08/11/2014 16:48

Re: advent calendars, I buy the Lego seasonal sets (eg Christmas train/reindeer/whatever) - usually cost £6-8, so not cheap - and them split them up into one instruction at a time per day of advent calendar. I photocopy the instructions and supply only the relevant bit so the girls spend the first week or so guessing what they're building Grin. Inter spaced with the odd bit of choc or hair slides etc to keep them guessing. I've also got a Christmas stamper set to divide up for some of the days.

yaffle · 08/11/2014 17:00

Am I missing something obvious with the Rakuten code , I'm attempting to buy 2 games from the same retailer which total £23 but for some reason it's not combining the basket and trying to put it through as two separate transactions , does it have to be an individual item over £20, I very helpfully deleted the email, thanks .

FlipFlippingFlippers · 08/11/2014 17:04

Oh bum I just don't trust myself in h&m as the 20% off would be a green light to get loads more stuff. I'm much more strict when I buy online. I don't need anything urgently so I'll wait for a code to use online.

Went RL shopping the other day. Got some beautiful tea light holders from pound land. A Christmas pudding, Christmas tree and a snowman. Really good quality too I was very impressed.

PickledMoomin · 08/11/2014 17:09

Tesco have reduced their lego advent calendars

yaffle · 08/11/2014 17:10

Ignore that , I'm stupid and for some reason best known to myself thought it was £10 off a £20 spend, rather than £5 off £10.

lauraR1989 · 08/11/2014 17:22

Was advised to join this thread by a few lovely ladies, so hoping it's ok to follow along? Don't think I've quite seen a bargain thread like it! x

Olivo · 08/11/2014 17:24

Is the dinosaurs love underpants book and floor puzzle too young for a three nearly four year old by, do you think?

Picturesinthefirelight · 08/11/2014 17:24

I've got to go to the post office to collect a package. Cantvthink I'm waiting for anything. Did the fattoria box need signing for?

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 08/11/2014 17:28

Olivio my 4.3yr old loves the underpants books we brought the set in a bag from book people so no not too young for a 3-4yr old

Olivo · 08/11/2014 17:30

Thanks East, I think that is where I got it from, but then panicked that it might be too young! Still my 5yo DD loves the original aliens book even now Smile

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 08/11/2014 17:33

My nearly 7 yo loves the underpants books!

fivefoottwowitheyesofblue · 08/11/2014 17:37

Just had 30% off at The Works Xmas Grin

I saw that they had 10% off and free p&p but as I was browsing a 30% off code popped up! Free click and collect too. Definitely worth browsing the book section as they had some weird and wonderful sports books for the hard to buy FILs, BILs, DHs etc.

My tip is to not buy in the first few minutes, it was only as I had been browsing for a while that the 30% off popped up.

daddykyller · 08/11/2014 17:45

Seen this on fb:

See the Coke Christmas Truck With Free Photo & Coke

You just need to search using your postcode to see when and where the truck will be stopping near you.
As in previous years, you can have a picture taken for free and mini cans of coke will be given out.
Begins at the end of November and goes all across the country. :)

PinkSquash · 08/11/2014 17:51

Thank you all for the ideas for my Grandmother, a couple of them would really suit Thanks

Another ask from me I'm afraid, has anyone seen any large length of battery lights? We have a hall tree but there's no plug socket and solar ones don't work as there's a street light outside and it stops them working

iloveholidays · 08/11/2014 17:54

Welcome Laura... definitely nothing else like it Grin Fab thread, Christmas bargains/general Christmas chit chat Smile

Olivo · 08/11/2014 18:00

Do you think the angry birds frustration game is suitable for two six year olds?
You lot may have sorted my hardest gifts!

OhCobblers · 08/11/2014 18:07

Anyone spotted cheap leappad games? Kids have got enough already so can't justify £20 on one game. Looking at spending up to £7?

Guitargirl · 08/11/2014 18:07

Thewildones - I posted on another thread in the Christmas section a week or so ago where the OP was asking for suggestions for advent calendars for a 10 year old. It was a charm bracelet one, nutcracker theme. I don't know how to link on the iPad but you could look for the thread or google nutcracker charm bracelet advent calendar.

OohOod · 08/11/2014 18:08

97p excellent! Grin

wyldstile · 08/11/2014 18:09

Baaaaaaaaa... Thanks to those posting, I too have just ordered the bargainous Hotel Chocolat tasting box. It's DEFINITELY for a gift, not for me... (But what if they're Eat By mid December...) Xmas Wink
