How much is spent on you/do you spend on them for Christmas?

Early 30s, I get £50 from my mum and dad, so does dh but they spend approx £60 each on my 2dds (so £200+ for just our family). There's five families (they have five kids who all have kids) so weve asked them to only buy the gk this year and not us. Though I'll buy them gifts off the kids.

I'm 28 and my husband's 31. My husband and I spend £30-£50 on each other, my parents give us each a £10 voucher (huge extended family), BIL spends around £20 and the same from father in law. Might get a £10-15 from one set of grandparents and a bottle of wine from my auntie. Nothing from my brother and SIL, just do gifts for children as they have 8 nephew and nieces on my SIL's side so they spend out around £150 on them alone. I exchange gifts with one friend - probably about £20.

I know about how much they spend as it was getting ludicrous and we set limits as a couple of family members wanted to buy gifts, but didn't have the funds they used to have.

I'm 30 - my mum and dad are v v generous so at least £100. Usually much more, to be honest. And more on DD - only granddaughter!

I'm early 30s. Umm, quite a bit these days.

DP and I might spend £200 - £350 on each other.

DP's parents would spend the same on him or a bit more, a bit less on me but still very generous.

My parents spend a bit less in general at Xmas (make more of a big deal of birthdays).

We're all comfortable financially and don't come from a large family though which is probably a contributory factor. Plus we have no DC.

I'm 27, my mum buys me a stocking worth about £60 and gives me vouchers for £100 usually. My dad usually gives me £50 plus some pjs and slippers.

We're both 28. From our parents - in the region of £50. Normally money towards something we want/vouchers for something else.

On each other - depends. Last Christmas I bought him a tablet which cost £200 but this year I'm probably going to get him an alarm clock he really wants costing around £40/50. DP bought me jewellery and a Michael Kors watch last year, I'm only asking for perfume this year.

We don't expect anything from our parents and often tell them not to buy for us but I think they like to still contribute in their own way.

Early 30's here. My mum and dad spend about £80 each on DH and me. PIL spend way more. They still spend the same on each of their dcs as they did when they were kids, about £500 each, but they split it between their dc and partner. For me and DH thst means they probably spend £300 on DH and £200 on me. V generous but I wish they'd pull back a bit.

I'm 32 and my mum spends about £10 on me for Christmas and about the same on dh and the dd's.

Dh has a 21 year old ds and we spend around £30 on him.

Well i feel spoilt......im 28 and my parents get me gift in the region of £100 for birthday and £250 for christmas. Same for my brother in his 30s. No kids yet. Me and dp spend about £150 on each other.

I am 31, I have two brothers 29 and 26. We usually get about £500 ish each. Last year I got an ipad.
My parents also spend about £150 each on my husband and my SILs.
They are very generous.

I'm 33 & get about £300 at Xmas my DS 3 gets about £200 from my parents - I have no siblings. I imagine this will drop a lot next year when my dad retires!!!

A gift worth about £5 - they're not well off. I treat them.

DP and I spend about £100 on each other, plus special food/nights out etc.

I'm 30, my parents spend about £100 for my birthday and again at Christmas with usually a bottle of perfume thrown in. They spend the same on DH too.
My sis is 28 and she and her partner get the same. They tend to get the DC's a small gift and write a cheque for their savings account.

My inlaws usually buy a token gift such as a book or a candle.
But they are more than generous throughout the year - occasionally we will receive a surprise £100 cheque in the post.
I know we are lucky.

Well I'm older but had three children by the time I was 30 (I'm 36 now)
My mum spends about 30/40 on each of us and has done for as long as I can remember :)

My son is 27. For Christmas I get him clothes, smelly stuff etc to the value of around £150, then between £50-£100 in his card (depending on how much I've spent on the other stuff). For his birthday it's usually £100, but this year I doubled it as he was going on a special trip.

He's unmarried but has a girlfriend.

We just buy for the little ones now. It was basically just passing vouchers round, so we stopped. Big relief.

My late fil used to like buying us lots of 'stuff'; often gleaned from cruises. He used to like vouchers in return. We have kept some of the really kitsch stuff for sentimental value, but both of us used to dread it.

DH and I don't get each other anything for Christmas and haven't done for years. We spend about £50 on each other on birthdays, but often "treat" each other to special gifts 2 or 3 times a year.

We have three , 34, 33 and 29 . £100 each on main present. £20 each on stocking ( or shoe box ) £10 each on a book. Same for son in law.
DGC are 4 and 2 and will probably do £50 each.

We probably spend £200-250 on DD and were wondering if we should start cutting back a bit now she if a fully fledged adult. She also has a DP who has a DC, so we buy for them as well.

DP and I get £50 between us from my parents (his are dead), so based on that we are spending a heck of a lot on DD.

She also has a birthday within a week of Christmas when we spend £250 ish. I seldom get anything from my parents for my birthday.

I didn't have much of a clue as to what others spend.

I think, if you can afford it and are happy to spend that much, then carry on. I'm early 30's but no-one really spends anything on my christmas presents, usually get a stocking of token gifts from STBXH and maybe a bottle of wine from my parents. Might get a bottle of perfume this year from myself Santa.
