We need a new thread to continue the very successful countdowns of 2013 and 2012.

And before anyone does the Hmm face (or Xmas Hmm face ) take a look at some of the 'Panic Threads' at the end of December when people were "Twitching" and stressing.

Organisation is key.

(I just need to find somewhere that'll work out how many days it is Grin )

nickdrakeslovechild · 02/04/2014 13:24

Sorry 70 not an April fools I am really sad organised and buy throughout the year. Got all the aunts / uncles and friends stuff in the 70% off sales at boots and most of my Lo's and her friends ones already too.

There have been some fantastic bargains in the sainsburys and tescos sales and she is really into dolls so have found lots of barbie offers. I just buy stuff when I see it I leave the grandparents ones to her until later as they buy the big ones and she might decide on what she wants later on. When it gets to December the only thing I usually need to buy is my OH as he never knows what he wants but I've even got his stocking things already Blush

I went to the Christmas shop near London Bridge today in my lunch break. It was, um, pretty quiet! Blush

It must be such a weird place to work throughout the year, it actually smells of Christmas as you walk in. They also had an Easter stand which is what I went to look at (honest).

Ooh the Christmas Shop - is it in an arcade?
I saw it once in London (I'm sure it was during the DC Summer Holidays so DH was Hmm when I said I wanted to look)

"I'll come back in December" I said, but I didn't Sad

I feel an Easter Trip with DD coming on.

Tell me more about the Easter Stand...Grin

And I'm officially on Annual Leave for a week so I can drag take my daughter out to the Christmas Shop (In April, yes) to buy Yankee Candles and other nice things.

Guitargirl · 05/04/2014 08:18

70 - yes, it was that one I went to in the arcade that you are thinking of. The Easter stand was a wee bit disappointing to be honest, not really worth a special trip. I had been to John Lewis on Oxford Street just before and they had much nicer Easter things in the basement. I will probably do a Selfridges trip at some point this week to get some Easter chocolate for the teens in the family.

My Christmas village is coming on nicely! I went to the Post Office this week to pick up a box which had my latest purchases in. DP was very Hmm when he asked what was in it and I had to admit that it was Christmas stuff...

50shadesofknackered · 05/04/2014 09:08

I bought my first thing for my Christmas village, it's Santa's workshop! I'm going to limit myself to one new thing per month so I''ll have a good amount in December. I will ignore dh Hmm face Grin

I have the dubious honour at DD1's school of having the child who mentioned Christmas coming soon first.

At the induction day in the August before she started pre-school.

Apparently before her the earliest was November...

BiddyPop · 06/04/2014 12:22

DH made me get branches for the Easter rtee yesterday, as I completely didn't get around to it last year. He plans that dd and I will put the eggs on it tonight. But heaven forfend that I should accuse him of wanting to do something like preparing for holidays or seasons!!

I have not done much at all yet, I am normally a bit more ahead but I have been struggling too much with life this year. But I have taken a few steps backwards recently so the stresses have diminished a bit.

I have rolled over my excel spradsheet. So I have a budget and a couple of things. But I need to print it off for my handbag to pick up things as I see them. Although I have 2 birthday gifts to get this week, and I really need to restock my cards drawer (none for DDs friends, although now need age 9 not 8' and. Dry few for others left either when I have lots of maiden aunts birthdays coming in the next 5 weeks).

I think I am going to drop the secret Santa for siblings this year, as it sorta only half works. And while I really want to get crafting, my backward steps haven't been that far yet, so I have to purchase. And my first crafting objective has to be for new baby arriving in September, so knitting needles and sewing machine both need dragging out for that.

I think though that we will be staying at home this year, as last year was somewhat nice, no major problems, but so much hassle all the time and no time out just for us, so I didn't get to put my feet up until we got home after a whole week, and Christmas was over here by then.
