Mine have about 35 each Shock 10 of those are stocking fillers of things around a pound nothing more then a fiver.

I haven't spent loads but as they're older and its things like dvds and ps3 games it really doesn't look like much compared to previous years of bikes and large similar presents.

Not odd Elsie. I don't dare count. I've replenished the books and clothes so it's not all toy presents. We are also having 2 christmas days as don't have DSD until 29th

DS1

5 main

8 stocking (not tat...smaller proper gifts)

depends though how you look at it....our son is getting a costume box as one of his main gifts - I am counting it as one thing but if you count each costume item separately then there is say...4 costumes and 8 "accessories" included in that one main.

DS2

4 main

5 stocking (as above)

Oh that is just from us and Santa....I have no idea what family are getting.

Not odd elsie, I do it as the dc would start their whinging of "he's got more then me it's so unfair" if one was left with all their presents opened while the other was still attacking presents.

I'm twitching over the slush cups now, dds been asking for them and I've forgot about it.

Dd has three main presents and then some books. She may have lots and lots of books because I lose track of just how may I have bought. She will also have a stocking that I know I have bought things for but again I have forgotten exactly what. Hence one year her needing her stocking attached to a large gift bag to accommodate the overflow Hmm

No real idea but DS is an only child so no worries about whether the piles are equal Xmas Grin
He has an iPad mini this year but that is from my DPs as well to stop them buying plastic tat and a keyboard as he is music mad. Then about 5 or 6 other little gifts, no more than £10 each and a stocking. This is always full if good stuff and as such ends up quite expensive, but we don't buy stuff throughout the year generally, only Christmas and birthdays.
I do budget though and start shopping in September otherwise we just couldn't afford it Xmas Smile
He will also get shit loads of gifts from my DPs and a couple from friends and family, normally gift vouchers now he is older.

Three from Santa in the sack, about 10 from me but none costing over £20 and probably another 10 from family and friends - plenty!

good lord! 35! We're more in line with some later posters.

our 3 dc are getting maybe 8 things in stocking (that includes nut, tangerine, toothbrush, toothpaste), and as 'big presents', I think maybe 5 things. These are mostly books, but the baby is getting a rocking horse (from the dump...)

under our tree is piled high with presents, but they are almost all to be given away.

Ds has about 20 from us and about 10 in his stocking. He will also have presents from family under the tree. It does seen a lot but his birthday is close to christmas and we tend to just get him one or two things for his birthday. I have considered splitting the things between christmas and his birthday but this way works for us best Xmas Smile

too much we have 3 dds (10, 8, 22 month's)

dd1&2 have

34 each from us plus a stocking each.
27 from my dps
20+ from other family members

dd3 has slighly more at about 38/40 from us and the same as above from others.

we both have loads of family and we all love the gift giving. under our tree the presents already take up the full wall (not including from us) it's how it's always been though same as when dh and myself were kid's.

I have 1 DS who is 3, and he's got about 20 gifts under the tree, and a stocking which is just stuffed full of chocolate to keep him in treats until Easter Smile

He's got the imaginext castle with all the kit and weapons and stuff, so we're setting that up for him unwrapped, because he quickly becomes distracted when he's opened a present, and wants to stop and play with that item and ignores any further presents. Wink

Five I think, and a stocking with little bits. Three dc though, so it really adds up.

Well our (2) kids have each, from us: 1 main from us, plus 1 set of books etc (asked for), plus 1 present from santa, and a stocking (with some proper things in like a bag of hamma beads, small playmobil packet, books etc). Total cost around £75 each.

They will have presents from 3 sets of grandparents, 3 aunties/uncles, 2 from great aunties/uncles, 1 Great grandparent and 2 sets of friends, ie another 9 each.

This is absolutely LOADS. We don't split up into piles. Big jumble under the tree, hand out a present at a time.

They each have 10 stocking fillers and 3 presents under the tree from us. They'll probably have another 8-10 presents each from family. Lucky things!

I think roughly 15 presents each then stocking with about 10 little bits in. About 4/5 presents from other family.More than enough!

5 presents each (3dc) plus a family present.

God knows how many from GPs though.

GimmeDaBoobehz · 17/12/2013 13:48

8 from me, 2 from fiancé my parents go nuts so dread to think . Other gps are giving money towards stuff for her. DD is only 8 months so not going nuts.

I have no idea as haven't wrapped yet. Stockings are tightly packed with small things here so quite a lot but small things in price as well. Father Christmas brings a big thing for each child too. Then as we spend the day with XH and he's got them things I need to as well. But no idea how many (there are two DC who know that not everything is equal).

KatnipEvergreen · 17/12/2013 14:59

I have bought them about 5 things each, then they will get a few larger things from relatives and a few stocking fillers, would say about 15 items a piece all told. We only have a small family. Certainly enough to fill a large pillowcase or two though, which is the same as I got as a kid.

Do people really count!?
I have no idea this year...lots and lots.

Report
glendatheveryexcitedwitch · 17/12/2013 16:25

My 3 have roughly the same spent on each though not the same number of presents as ds(14) is in to designer clothes so only has 5/6 + stocking where as dd1(8) has lots of little girlie bits and 1D as well as a few big presents that didn't cost too much and dd2(1) has a few playmobil bits, clothes and bath toys.

My kids don't get anything from anyone else other than a few quid off my dad so we are inclined to go a bit mad

Do people really count?

Absolutely yes. I dread to imagine the scene on Christmas morning if one child got more presents than the other!

cantheyseeme · 17/12/2013 16:38

Dd1 has around 30, a couple of them are quite expensive but mainly lots of like 2 for £15 toys and heaps of clothes :)
Dd2 is 6 days old.... she has about 10, all clothes.
Next year i will even it out Smile

SpookedMackerel · 17/12/2013 16:38

I don't know exactly, but I would reckon on Christmas day between 5 and 10 each, and a stocking each (we are staying with grandparents)

Then probably another 5 or so when we visit the other grandparents later in the week.
