What would you like your husband to buy you for Christmas?

All ideas welcome - I'm sure I'm not the only husband struggling for ideas!

Thanks

I want Pikmin 2 and 3 with a Wii U to play it on.

Otherwise chocolates, jewellery, books, nice scarf, pillows, blanket, theatre tickets...

Do you need my address to deliver them all? Grin

I don't want anything for the kitchen, or anything that cleans. It's 2013 not 1913.
I don't want anything for the house - so no curtains, cushions, rugs, blankets.
I don't want make up.
I don't want handbags, shoes, clothes, underwear or purses.
I don't want theatre tickets, opera or any other show tickets.
I don't want scarfs, nice or not.
I don't want a spa thing, massage thing or any other parlour thing.
I don't want to be a friend of what ever gallery or other nonsense.
I don't want books.
I don't want smelly things.
I don't want straighteners, hair drier, tongs or any other gadget for my hair.
I don't want an Ipad, I have one.
I don't want an ereader, I have one.
I don't want nail varnish.
I don't want ornaments or other tat that is simply there to collect dust.
I don't want chocolate.

I wouldn't mind games for either the ps3 or the psp. I wouldn't mind a ps4.
I wouldn't mind another coffee gift basket - very nice travel cup/cafetiere and some very nice coffees.
I wouldn't mind cash, yes cash not store gift cards, for when I see something that I like.

What I actually want:

Books on etymology by A. Lieberman and O. Szemerenyi
A latch hook kit with a seascape and sailing ship

What I'll probably be given:

Novels

In the spirit of "It's 2013 not 1913", optimusic, would it not be a bit weird to be given cash by your dh? Surely OP's wife should be able to access the family money when she sees fit, and doesn't need for some amount of it to be given by OP as a Christmas gift to her [tchconfused] ...

A gift that DH gets me every year that I adore is a box of charity shop books. About 30 or so paperbacks. Of these I will probably have already read approximately 15, but I don't mind a re-read. About 5 are eyewateringly bad choices, and they get recycled back to the charity shop. About 10 are good discoveries. Some of them I know I won't re-read. This only works if your other half is very bookish, but it is something I look forward to every year.

He also bakes me a cake. I love that :). He also bought me some herbs for the kitchen (basil, thyme. rosemary, a chilli plant) but in nice pots.

For the rest, perfume and stuff? I can get that all for myself. It's not a gift really, perfume. You might as well bung your other half £100. Ditto Mulberry bags. I have perfume, I have Mulberry bags and purses. I have every gadget imaginable (and some of them unimaginable) for the kitchen.

I have asked for a cake mixer thingy but that's because our one broke down and I do like to make the occasional thing. I'd like a bike as well but probably won't get one as at 5 months PG that will be considered 'unsuitable'.

Things like jewellery, clothes, toiletries, perfume, pants lingerie etc etc etc - I have very specific tastes so I just buy them for myself as and when needed.

I'm not bothered about a cake mixer though - as long as it holds up for a few years and isn't too ugly I don't mind. I'm not going to start a cupcake business with it.

Why are we allowed a thread title "What are you getting DH for christmas" but not one with the word wives in ?!

Hmm

Report
YoureBeingASillyBilly · 01/12/2013 13:16

How about ask your actual wife- we are all different people with different wants. Asking 'wives' is a ridiculous way to find out what yo get her.

Have you posted a similar thread titled "uncle Jeffreys what would you like for christmas" to determine what your uncle jeff would like?

'Wives' because he is asking as a husband I presume?

If this was 'what shall I get DH for christmas?' it would be fine wouldn't it.

What does your wife like OP? what is your budget?

I love that box of books one!
