Was in Sports Direct today - something I always try to avoid - and they have a section which is, bizarrely, full of One Direction and Disney stuff. Notepads, pens, all sorts of stationery and some toiletries, all really cheap, lots for £1.
They also had these big sets which would look a decent size when wrapped (always a consideration!) - you get notepad, pens, pencils, sharpener, eraser, calculator etc, for whatever football club and they're £3.99. There were odd things football related too like packs of disposable razors with club names for £1 - it really is a bizarre shop.
This has maybe already been posted but Asda had a boxed set of six small Yankee candles, all different scents, down to £2.50.
Primark had Xmas knickers (women's sizes) for £1 a pair, and they were actually quite nice 
. . . They also had boxed mugs (in the men's sections) down to £1, with a picture of Lionel Ritchie and 'is it tea you're looking for?' on them . . . I know, I know . . . desperate times.
