tk maxx has fleece hunter wellie socks (chunky cable cuff type in lots of colours) for 12.99 ladies (retail for 28) and children's for 6.99 (retail for 12). My local one only had one size for children - xxs - which fits UK 7-9/eu 25-37.

They also had lovely felt Xmas ornaments for 2.99, similar to john lewis' ones that are around 6. Also got a 183cm log felt garland for 9.99

For anyone wanting a Maileg pixie advent calendar without the hefty price tag, homesense had ones by sia kids that looked just as lovely for 12.99 (retail 45). I got a girl pixie advent calendar which measures 140cm from top of hat to toe.

Also picked up a boy pixie over 130cm tall for 9.99.

For those looking for puppets, if you're in the South of England then Tiger had some in. IIRC they were punch & judy style with rubbery heads. They're not on their website, but Tiger's prices are usually good. Tiger also looks good for stocking filler type stuff.

GLTC have their doorway puppet theatre reduced from £36 to £28.80

Forgot to add tk maxx also have raa raa the noisy lion toys.

I picked up this bath island for 7.99. They also had the raa raa car and hufty train in stock as well as the large talking raa raa. Think all were about half of the retail price.

Thanks for the tips - I got some scooby doo figures for DD for £7 and some nice cheap Christmas present bags and loads of house stuff for bargainous prices. Will be heading back to B & M that's for sure!
