Here we go people, the second bargain Christmas thread for 2013 already . Chockywockydoodah · 02/08/2013 09:00

Buckaroo game £5.19 at Mothercare

warning - Buckaroo is crap, now, the new one just DOES NOT buck.

Read Amazon reviews.

Mine from last year went in the bin. Had bought it too far in advance to return it, Grrrr.

RubyGoat · 02/08/2013 09:56

Iloveholidays thanks - I'd not thought of that. Will start saving my Tesco vouchers immediately!

FudgeyCookie · 02/08/2013 10:45

Place marking for when I've saved a bit of cash. It's dd's birthday a couple of months before Xmas and we've decided to get things when we see them this year! Wish she was old enough for that kitchen but just to small and young! Will order finger puppets though!

Snowgirl1 · 02/08/2013 11:19

Anyone seen any bargains on those wooden balance bikes? DD will be 2 at Christmas, but I'd like to buy a pressie she'll grow into. Any other suggestions on bargains for a 2 year old? A lot of the suggestions seem great for older children. I'm clueless and need ideas!

ballinacup · 02/08/2013 11:54

Snowgirl DS will be a week off turning 2 at Christmas and we've bought him the IKEA wooden toy kitchen. It's reduced to £45 at the moment.

ballinacup · 02/08/2013 11:54

IKEA Kitchen

SummerLightning · 02/08/2013 12:20

Blimey this thread moves fast, love it, have bought some of those doodle books (they are great) and ordered Dr Suess collection for dd's birthday (she will be 3)

snowgirl, the kitchen is a great idea. Also what about micro scooters, balance bikes are great, consider metal ones too, they are usually easier to height adjust and a bit lighter?

What about happyland, that is usually a hit with 2 year olds as well.
Mine like hotwheels too from that age, they are a bit annoying though! Also general cars, and big diggers, etc (the bruder ones are good). Sorry this is not giving you any bargains, but hopefully some ideas.

My bargain contribution is sportpursuit - flash sales on quality sports gear (usually running or cycling) - useful for if you have sporty dh's or relatives. It's a bit like zulily or achica for bikers/runners! www.sportpursuit.com/ Nothing jumps out on there atm but they often have had good reductions on well known brands. they take ages to arrive though (bit like zulily)

onelittlepiglet · 02/08/2013 12:36

Showgirl - my dd got a kitchen for her 2 nd birthday and loves it! Al
Also got her things like play food and a tea set to go with it so she can have tea parties. She likes happyland, cars, trucks etc also wooden blocks have become a favorite and she builds 'castles' with them now. She loves jigsaw puzzles and also has started to like simple games like snap or matching up animal heads and tails (from early learning centre) and we have to play them over and over but they are good for her. She likes duplo too but only has one small set so we are going to get her more for christmas. She likes her scuttlebug at the moment. Also she got an easel which she uses a lot for painting. Arts and crafts stuff is a big win. Also books, books and more books! She loves being read to. Things like maisy mouse, kipper, peppa pig etc. hope this helps with some ideas!

Reastie · 02/08/2013 12:40

snowgirl I bought DD some wooden cakes/wooden sandwich set and she loves them (she's now 2.5) and has older friends who also love them. Also 'play shop' type things like a till she loves and should play with as she gets older or a toy tea set.

Forgot to say Hello to feegle Grin

Sorry, bit distracted - having building works done and everything is going pear shaped at the minute Confused

The Leappad2 is now down from £61 to £48 on Amazon in both pink and green if anyone is after one.

starjules · 02/08/2013 14:51

Snowgirl1, asda have a gorgeous wooden kitchen they have done for £35.00 the last 2 years at christmas. I was in there this week and the wooden pans ect for it have just gone out so keep your eye on the website for it. I got it last year and its really lovely. Also the toy kitchen bits in Ikea are great especially the felt vegetables. Baby dolls are also good for 2 year old.

Chockywockydoodah · 02/08/2013 15:22

Snowgirl

Agree with Starjulesthat the Asda wooden kitchen is great for the reduced price of £35. Comes in a red or pink comtrasting colour ( I got pink and its not too pink. Its small compared with some but big enough to keep little ones busy opening the doors and "cooking". I got the wooden pots and pans, cutlery and plates set for £12 half price too at Asda (as Starjules mentioned) and some Melissa & Doug wooden vegetables and slice n' serve cookies which really made for a nicely stocked up kitchen! She loves it, so do any friends that come!!

Happyland definitely a winner in our house too - have had to stop buying it now as we have too much!

Any role play stuff is good for age 2+ and will grow with them.

BuffyFairy · 02/08/2013 16:05

Sorry if it's already been mentioned. The Entertainer have the Playmobil Surburban House for £50 saving £80 on their prices. It's £98 on Amazon

house

TeWiSavesTheDay · 02/08/2013 18:18

The character umbrellas I posted about early on (page 1 or 2) from eBay arrived - very good quality, especially for £4 including postage!

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 02/08/2013 19:30

Buffy - thanks for that.

I was so sure I was going to get that for dd this Christmas, and was holding out for it going down in price (such as now). But then i saw the Grande Mansion and now I'm really torn which to buy!

Am i right in saying that neither the Mansion or the Suburban House comes with any furniture? It all has to be bought separately?

MooseyMoo · 02/08/2013 19:35

Ewe Looks like the Mansion has no furniture and the Suburban house has

2 adults
2 children
A pet dog
A barbeque with accessories
Table
Chairs

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 02/08/2013 19:48

Ah, thank you Smile I missed that. I'll have another wee think before i buy anything.

hippoherostandinghere · 02/08/2013 20:09

Apparently Argos are doing 3 for 2 on toys staring from tomorrow.
