What's the oddest thing DC have asked for, and did they get it?

Years ago DS asked for a yellow suit. Was v young & couldn't describe it but wanted it for months.
I bought him some thermal longjohns & a vest & dyed them bright yellow with dylon along with a pillow case that I attached as a cape. I got some red felt and cut it into his initial & attached it to the front with wonderweb.
He was delighted with it on Christmas morning & then never wore it Confused
DD has asked for a diamond maker this year - I've told her if she manages to get one I'd quite like a few diamonds myself.

DD is on the cusp of believing, and has asked for an Adele doll that sings Rolling in the Deep. I asked her if she has seen this doll anywhere and she said that "no, but all Santa's Elves have to do is get a talking doll, put Adele's head on it, and swap the talking bit for Rolling in the Deep. BECAUSE FATHER CHRISTMAS MAKES THE TOYS DOESN'T HE MUMMY"

Lovely thread!

Aww to the Star.

DS1 has asked for some original things in the past; a reindeer, a duckling and this year..........a rowing boat!

We have got him a kayak as a combined birthday and Christmas gift and he is going to love that. (hopefully)

Halloween, they're really good quality. Ours is the medium size which was a Christmas gift last year. It's been played with, walked on, rolled up and taken outside countless times over the year and it still comes up as good as new.

5yo dd3 wants a real live snake. Not a hope! you have to buy them dead baby mice Shock
She also wants a remote control helicopter, to "give snakey rides, so it can be a flying snake". She's getting the helicopter.

MisForMum I wish one of mine would ask for a handheld vacuum cleaner because I'd quite like one

One year ds was desperate for thunderbirds things but wasn't anything around so father Christmas wrote a long letter saying sorry elves had misfiled his list so it was too late. On day father boxing day dh went to tip and there were 3 plastic bags full of thunderbirds vehicles, characters and a working Tracey island. He gave the staff £10 and brought them home. Father Christmas left them by the back door on night on his way past en route to his holiday in barbados. The elf had felt so bad he had made them on Xmas day Xmas Grin

Not odd, but I think it's sweet.
DD wants a hello kitty umbrella over and above ANYTHING else. She couldn't care less if she gets absolutely nothing other than this umbrella.

Bless her. Think she might be in luck from Father Christmas Wink

Ds1 (6) hasn't asked for anything. Which is, in itself, odd. And not helpful.

He's getting Lego, but I have a nasty feeling we'll get a last minute request when he goes to see Father Christmas on 16th. I've tried getting him to tell me what he'll say to FC, but he won't tell me because that's on a need-to-know basis apparently.

Great Xmas Hmm

When Action Man was all the rage my son was so happy when he unwrapped his present but then after a quick examination of box contents got quite upset. Apparently the tv ad said it came complete with lifelike 'beseek'.......where was it? Turned out of course that it was his physique (you may recall pecs, abs, the works!) our explanation didn't make up for lack of the extra thing he was expecting. Those xmas tv ads have a lot to answer for!

When DS was about 4 he asked for a "real snail" - I think it was because when he was 3 Santa gave him a cuddly snail. I think he just thought it was a Christmasy thing to ask for !

Our response was a bit shoddy looking back .... more or less along the lines of "what else would you like DS ?" Fortunately it didn't become a major thing for him, it was just me that remembered it as it was rather cute Grin

DD has asked for "a playmobil baby barn owl, and mummy and daddy owl, a playmobil boyscout with a campfire and a playmobil man with a telescope". (She is hoping to re-enact her favourite book using Playmobil)

Have two of the owls sorted, and the campfire, still working on how to transform a playmobil boy into a boyscout, and haven't found a telescope yet.

DD wants a barbie with a brown jumper and a matching brown jumper for her. Do you get clothes that aren't pink for Barbies?

I used to get a tin of shrimps for my Christmas and birthday from my Aunt.
