I'm glad you've asked - I was about to post.

I had to change my email address and I was worried it had been sent to the old one.

SandyMumsnet · 22/11/2012 17:24

Hi there,

It has been so lovely playing Santa, I've spent the last few weeks knee deep in spreadsheets.

All is running smoothly and a mail will be going out next week. We've just one or two things to tie up

Bah Humbug

Binfullofgibletsonthe26th · 23/11/2012 12:50

Sandy - can I ask a question, as it's the first time i've done this. I registered, but I didn't have a specific MN'er to send to.

But there is a person who has come to mind over the past month, that I'd really like to treat.

So how do I get an MN'er - are they given to me from your spreadsheet?

SandyMumsnet · 23/11/2012 16:51

Hi Binfull
My head may have just exploded with that query! Very kind thought though.

It's all about keeping it anonymous, so as heartwarming as a personal nomination is, we need to keep the recipients names a secret.

Next week each donor will be sent the code and address (but not the name) of the MNer we have matched them to.

Ho Ho Ho!

Binfullofgibletsonthe26th · 24/11/2012 17:29

Ah I see, so people weren't nominating an mn'er they specifically wanted to buy for....they were sort of voting for ones for peeps to add to the gift list? Is that correct?

No I understand it's confidential, there is just a poster on here I would really like to treat in secret.

Dawndonna · 24/11/2012 17:48

Glad I've seen this. Was getting worried that I'd missed an email.

SandyMumsnet · 24/11/2012 18:28

Hi,

Actually a handful did, with some heartwarming reasons, but as I said it's not something we can see through.

Even so, the Xmas Appeal is such a brilliant thing to be involved in, and certainly a privilege to sort out. Matching everyone up has been a challenge, but a complete joy. Smile

Santa's coming to town!

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 10:54

::pours Sandy a gin and coffee::

Better?

::sings::

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, ev-very-where I go....

SandyMumsnet · 27/11/2012 13:20

Whoop, Whoop!

It's done, all the mails have been sent.

Santa Claus is coming to town.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

OhlimpPricks · 27/11/2012 13:28

Got my email, will be sorting in the next couple of weeks. Are all the recipients nominated? Can we nominate for next year?
I said I wanted to give vouchers, but Really stumped as to where to get them for. The household DC are actually adults in 20's so I assume that they still live at home and may have SN, any suggestions for which vouchers would go down well? Just giving sainsbury seems a bit crap, as I would like the MN or DC to have a nice treat that isn't necessarily from the supermarket, but don't know if they can get to a shopping centre. Hmmmm...

MNP · 27/11/2012 13:31

Um Blush I can't remember what I listed to donate Blush

MNP · 27/11/2012 13:33

OhLimPricks what about Amazon gift vouchers as can be used online ?? At least you remember what you donated Blush

annh · 27/11/2012 13:45

Whoop, whoop! Got my email and I have a girl to buy for. Coming from my all-male household, I fear I may go a bit mad tomorrow!

gonerogue · 27/11/2012 13:46

Yay thanks for organising Sandy Claus. I'm off shopping for mine, yay

littlemoon14 · 27/11/2012 13:59

Umm...what if you can't quite remember what you offered to donate? Blush

BartimaeusNeedsMoreSleep · 27/11/2012 16:05

I didn't realise it was sent to email and not inbox! Good job I saw this thread as the mail went to junkmail...

Hee hee am getting ready to shop! Plus, small world, the MNer lives in the same town I grew up in! Smile

BartimaeusNeedsMoreSleep · 27/11/2012 16:07

Question - do the presents need to be giftwrapped? Or do we leave that to the MNer receiving?

SandyMumsnet · 27/11/2012 16:08

@IShallCallYouSquishy

Mail Santa.Claus, he's bound to know!
Seriously, we'll drop you a line.

WineGless · 27/11/2012 16:12

Sandy I offered to donate but haven't receive an email

ThePlEWhoLovedMe · 27/11/2012 16:17

woohoo got my email ...

Would be nice to have known the reason the person was nominated though!! I mean if it was because the mumsnetter had a difficult year medically/relationship wise I would send something different to if it was because funds were low iyswim.

Bartim
You can wrap or not wrap - up to you ... if you wrap for a kid it would be an idea to let the mumsnetter know what is inside though ...if it is for them - dont tell them !!

SandyMumsnet · 27/11/2012 16:18

@BartimaeusNeedsMoreSleep

Good question!

Lovely if you can. Fine if you can't.

Do put a note in to say what you've sent. Or perhaps send it with wrapping paper for MNer to wrap herself.

SandyMumsnet · 27/11/2012 16:19

@WineGless

Sandy I offered to donate but haven't receive an email

OK, checking now.... will get in touch.

BartimaeusNeedsMoreSleep · 27/11/2012 16:21

Agree with the pie. My first thought was a book DS totally adores but it mentions mums and dads a lot so I think it might be best to choose something different just in case!

IShallCallYouSquishy · 27/11/2012 16:35

Thanks Santa Sandy Grin

I blame my lack of sense to maybe make a note of what I said.
