Does anyone put their tree up super early?

I LOVE Christmas and love having the tree up. I always take it down a lot later than most people because I hate doing it!

So am thinking of the putting the tree up early this year...it's my home, I'll do as I please Grin. I also have the support of DP...I think!

So, when is yours going up?

I aim at the first Sunday of Advent, this year December 3. If the house is too messy to do the tree that day, it goes up at the best point after picking up the clutter and debris. I'm happy to leave it up for a couple of weeks into January, but not much more.

3rd is a Monday. We always do first Monday its our tradition. I put it up while they are at school they decorate it and I repair it when they are in bed.

I do mine a couple of weeks before Christmas day.

probably around the 22nd/23rd of December, as the children are finishing school on the Friday.

We always keep it close to Christmas so the tree doesn't moult by Boxing day Grin

Probably around the 11th-12th Dec. Take down 5th Jan.

I should add it's an artificial tree.

"3rd is a Monday" Aha, so it is, silly Monday starting calendar. I meant the 2nd. Mine's artificial too, I don't think 6 weeks would be a good idea with a real tree.

the 1st! And it doesn't come down until the 6th Jan. I want to get maximum tree gazing in Grin
but I am Christmas mad so can't really help myself

Ditto the 1st. I am gagging to get the decorations down from the attic now, but have promised DH I shall restrain myself until 1st November!

6ft Santa with pockets out for the elves to visit with chocolates for the start of December but that's it until it's tree time-but we do go as a family to choose one mid Dec.

Probably 15th, not sure the real tree will last any longer than that. May do the artificial one in the conservatory the weekend before.

Usually the weekend before christmas day. Don't know this year as baby due at the end of Dec. It has been told to arrive on the 15th though. If it behaves the tree will go up the day after for Ds's sake I expect.

First weekend of Christmas we start putting everything up.

We have three trees to decorate so it takes aaagggeeessa!!!

House is a lovely grotto when finished but it usually takes most of the weekend with having the children to entertain too. We don't do outside, just each room downstairs including secs and lights going up the stairs, and decorate ds1 room a bit too.

B and q go to 75% off the last Monday before Christmas, on all their Christmas secs, lights, trees etc, so I go and get more every year!!

Love Christmas and try and make it special every year for my boys and for family. (Just my excuse-really just making up for dull childhood Christmases Wink)

22nd December we get the tree and let it defrost or dry.
23rd December - decorate. The xmas decorations are all in the same box so we won't decorate until the tree gets done.

DH birthday is on 4th Dec so christmas isn't thought about until after that. (I do present shopping but no decorating until then)

Violetstar, Mr Confused shares your DH's birthday. We will probably put ours up the Friday night after (think it's the 7th) as were away the weekend before Grin

Usually about 15th but this year as the weekend is immediately before I think on the Sunday 23td will do. Otherwise they get dead looking and I'm sick of the sight by 1st Jan.

Usually the 1st of December. I'd love to put it up earlier, it's so cosy at night with the twinkly lights! Neighbours would think I'd gone mad though.

After my birthday

which is on december 9th

ahem.

When I was growing up, the tree would go up on my birthday. Apparently this was a way of making my birthday 'special'

It didn't.

Now I have massive issues and all talk of christmas is banned until december 10th Grin
