I can make anywhere. I'll be driving so could potentially give people lifts/take them home. Food wise I am easy too! Don't mind really.

Oh I'll be coming from south Bristol.

Thank-you, Abigail.Smile

Right! Dates and what you'd like in terms of food, please. I'm phoning round this morning and I'm going to assume buffet/canapes unless I get huge shout of Noooooooooooooo!Grin

watershed is easy. Clifton/cotham is a 40 min bus ride into town then another bus up to clifton. So over an hour.
I eat anything veggie except celery

Dates - a Friday/Saturday night for me. Maybe end of November as I know lots of people get quite booked up in December. I can't do 1st December as I have my work night out. At a golf club.

I'm veggie, like anything especially spicy stuff.

I am away Dec 15 but otherwise no plans for Dec. Canapés sound good. I will be driving from southville if anyone wants a loft but be warned that for several weeks now car has had lingering stench of death, so something awful is decaying under a seat....

Ok, how's this?

The Watershed can do a buffet (details to follow) for around £12 a head and give us a corner of their cafe/bar on the 8th December.

Everywhere else either wants us to sit down for £20-£30+ or are not answering their phones!Hmm

Shall I go ahead and book this? Knowing the Watershed, they'll have a decent vegetarian option but please don't mind me as I scoff chicken skewers and sausage rolls.Grin

I can do 8th Dec. Watershed sounds good to me.

Spero, your car sounds like mine Grin. Although mine is clean at the moment. Been in for a service and they hoovered and everything!

That sounds perfect to me - thank you MrsW for organising it.
I shall be there unless DH's or my office picks that very day for the xmas shindig.

MrsW Watershed is a splendid idea. Central but not raucous. I was there last Sat, funnily enough, and it was buzzy but still pretty chilled.

I'm in! Assuming I can get a sitter (DH works most evenings in Dec :( )

Ooh, don't thank me, thank execpat for suggesting it and them for actually answering the bloody phone!Grin

Amazing how many restaurants are unavailable to take bookings, or indeed just enquiries, this close to Christmas!Hmm And people bang on about the down-turn in the economy... (but that's a whole other threadWink).

December 8th now in my diary. Are you going to need firm commitments and deposits from us nearer the time?

Just noticed what I actually called you...

How do you like your promotion?

Still waiting on a buffet menu from Watershed but as no-one has disagreed yet, shall I go ahead and make a solid booking?

I can find out then about their deposit requirements. And I was thinking about booking for 22 so that we can have some wriggle room. That doesn't mean I'm going to ask for more money, just that we can amend numbers closer to the event.Smile

I think there's enough enthusiasm that it's fine to make the booking. If we build it, they will come.

Will we need to specify vegetarianism numbers in advance? If so count me as one of the non-fish-eating-but-happy-with-cheese-and-eggs variety.

Wink I remember our discussion about vegetarianism and I will adjust my expectations accordingly...

The 8th is great for me as I'll be singing in my choir Christmas concert at the M Shed that afternoon! So already down at the harbour side. Sounds great Grin

Booked, confirmed and menus are on their way.Smile

I asked about deposit/payment details and the woman who deals with that area is getting back to me later. I suggested individual payment direct to them from you all - easier I feel - and the woman I just spoke to said it might be possible to pay on the night.

paying on the night sounds good in case there's a child related emergency. Little buggers always wait till you are going out to have a temp of 40 and a weird rash.
