I have a few boys to buy for in this age range including my own DS age 10 who wants anything and everything from Superdry for xmas apparently ! But I don't want to get him clothes for xmas, so what does everyone buy for their boys of around the same age - it sounds like I don't know him well but he has suddenly reached that age where toys are 'babyish' so besides xbox games what is there?

Please tell me everything your boys are into then I can steal some ideas from you Grin

My boys (9 & 10) have asked for
Skylanders for the Wii
Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics for the Wii

and they are getting this basketball laundry basket too, in an effort to get them to tidy their room (it's only £12 in store at the moment).

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 03/12/2011 18:37

11yr old ds, football boots, lots of clothes (he wants those!) David walliams' gangsta granny book, head candy headphones, xbox game, comedy DVDs, lynx.

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 18:38

Ooh yes Flossie-forgot the Lynx! We can cough our way through Christmas.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 03/12/2011 18:40

Hahaha! Splutter,cough,splutter!!

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 18:43

Which comedy DVD's is he having Flossie?

PandaG · 03/12/2011 18:43

survival kit (he's a scout - doubt he will actually use it until he is an explorer scout) minecraft game for pc, non-school shoes of some sort. Large set of technic lego to go with his lego mindstorms, games, Airfix club membership, latest Eragon book, Redwall books, latest Prof layton for DS...

DS is 12 in a fortnight, and is getting the above from us and family/friends for both of the occasions.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 03/12/2011 19:22

I daren't say really.

Oh, ok then. He's asked for come fly with me, Gavin & Stacey series 3, and the complete only fools and horses. He will NOT be getting the 18 xbox game "All his friends have got" (he knows the score on this of old though!) or the inbetweeners boxset, though!

makemineapinot · 03/12/2011 20:15

olibeansmummy · 03/12/2011 20:23

Dss wants Lego Lego Lego! The more complicated technic stuff though now. Also getting a ds game, tech deck, watch, funny history books ( not horrible histories as he has problems with reading but they would be good for most boys) a new duvet cover and clothes.

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 20:26

That's ok Flossie. Good taste! DS1 likes Blackadder.

Pumpster · 03/12/2011 20:28

paranoidandroidwreckmyownlife · 03/12/2011 20:36

Slamm stunt scooter.
DS2 is practically hyperventilating at the thought of it being delivered next week.

Soups · 03/12/2011 20:36

My 10 year old would love an i-pad, or netbook, he's not getting one. I may get him a cheap netbook for his birthday just before he starts secondary school.

So far I've got him
i-tunes vouchers for his i-pod.
snap watch www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=snap+watch&tag=googhydr-21&index=watches&hvadid=8615979166&ref=pd_sl_6tv5a8z4qs_e
Warhammer set, he's been to a few sessions at Games Workshop and is hooked.
His grandparents are getting him a Nerf gun.
For his birthday he asked for a stunt scooter, he loves that and we take him to the local skate park sometimes.

ChippyMinton · 04/12/2011 06:34

Those getting Nerf guns - the 'whistling' bullets are really cool!

deemented · 04/12/2011 06:59

DSS is 12 and would very much like Britney Spears, apparently.

Sadly she's going to be a no show, so he will be getting instead

A digital camera
An MP3 player
A watch
Downfall
Some new boots
A NYPD hoodie
A top gear calender
The Stig bubblebath
Personalised faceflannel with lego soap
Chalk for his bedroom wall.

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 08:39

Oh no chippy there are whistling bullets? Shock

ChippyMinton · 04/12/2011 08:55

yes indeed Xmas Grin

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 08:59

Brilliant Chippy. We have got them the Nerf combat shelter. I may take cover in it. Grin

takeonboard · 04/12/2011 10:48

thanks all - so many ideas!
i am looking at nerf guns, the ones which come with combat vests that the velcro bullets stick to - are these as good as they sound?
David walliams book - i forgot he likes those
DVDs not sure which to get though.....
I love the basket ball laundry bag - thanks for the link to that one!

The Logo game is great, DS has it already and we play it a lot

This totally beats wandering around the shops for inspiration , any more ideas Grin
