nope mine go up 1st dec as its ds2 5th bday then

Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2011 18:05

I always get the tree and decorations out of the loft and I am disappointed every year. I always remember them as being so much better! I won't buy any more though. Pre-kids it was always perfect with colour co-ordination. Now it's mainly stuff the boys have made over the years (cotton wool, loo roll inside etc) and Cadburys tree decorations. We also have a farting Santa Hmm

Dillydollydaydream · 03/11/2011 18:08

Ours usually goes up mid-December Im miserable and hate having decs and cards everywhere. By boxing day I want to take it all down.

Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2011 18:13

I don't put the cards up. I put them in a pile. Blush Boys have theirs up in their bedrooms. I have been known to take everything down on Boxing Day. Bah Humbug and all that.

aStarInStrangeways · 03/11/2011 18:15

no, but i did hear a shop in town blasting out 'simply having a wonderful christmas time' earlier today Hmm Hmm and thrice Hmm

Minus273 · 03/11/2011 18:30

Definitely not before 1st dec in this house. I feel very uncomfortable with anything up before Rememberance Day.

Hulababy · 03/11/2011 18:31

I was ready with the Hmm

No decorations will go up here til a week or so before the big day. Actually considering the school break up times it will probably be that weekend, so a week befoe.

Calabria · 03/11/2011 18:31

Went for a swim last week on Tuesday (25th Oct) in the nearby hotel pool and their decorations were in the process of going up!

We're away for Christmas so probably won't bother.

BelinaTheChicken · 03/11/2011 18:48

OP I'm on a diet and your name is making me hungry

No decs yet, but have had a salt dough marathon with DS1 and made a load as presents

MintAero · 03/11/2011 19:13

ItsonlymeMrsDB · 03/11/2011 19:15

I felt a little bit jealous, actually.

So was relieved to see that you don't actually have decs up yet.

Grin

DH's school breaks up on the 22nd or the 23rd this year (officially 23rd but they normally "surprise" the students and let them go the day before - here's hoping!), so ours won't be up til the 24th Shock I'm so disappointed, I do like a week or so of them in advance.

LittleJennyRobyn · 03/11/2011 19:23

I also did Hmm when i read the title.....not before the 1st December...but am eagerly waiting to see when my neighbour put hers up, it gets earlier each year.

Going to see if she beats last years record of 7th November Grin

cardibach · 03/11/2011 19:28

What is all this 'not before the 1st of December' as though that is a reasonable time? No more than a week before, and down by New Year. Anything else is just annoying.

LemonMousse · 03/11/2011 19:32

Just started our family sweepstake today for 'When will our neighbour over the road put her tree up?'

DD1 says 23rd November, DD2 says 17th Nov - still need to ask DH and DS but I am going for 19th Nov based on the theory that it's a Saturday and she'll more than likely go for the weekend - the chocolate orange prize will be mine Grin

kdiddy · 03/11/2011 19:35

The hideous singing Christmas tree is up in the Trafford Centre. I was very Hmm when I saw it at the weekend.

Just think of all of the people who couldn't be arsed to take their Christmas icicle lights off their houses last year, now patting each others' backs and thinking they've saved themselves a job putting them back up again!
