limbo - I've threaded them with very thin elastic and tied the ribbon through the end so it's only enough ribbon to hang it on the tree. The ribbon is what's used to keep tops on coat hangers which is why the ones I've made so far all have different coloured loops!

My aunt has found loads of red buttons and my friend came over and adapted the trees i'd made so they're looking even better now! I'll take another picture later.

The first lot of buttons I bought off eBay - £2.99 for 75g of green buttons - that made 4 trees and the round dec. I've just bought loads some more so had better get threading Grin.

Just added 2 more pics.

I'm wondering whether I need to glue the stuffing and fabric of the pin cushion into the bucket or teacup? They are so well-stuffed that they don't budge unless you actually try to pull it out. I shall keep experimenting and maybe give a couple do ds and see how long it takes him to dismantle!

WhoresHairKnickers · 02/10/2011 11:28

I am trying very hard to read and keep up with this thread!!

I requested Pinterest a week ago, but not got it yet :(

RoyalWelsh · 02/10/2011 11:31

Thanks alouise :) I can't wait to start properly making things, as of this week I am working only Monday and tuesday for three - four weeks with a few extra hours here and there so I'm thinking it's the perfect time to start christmassing! I'm moving house as well though so I'm going to have to be quite organised...

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 11:33

WHK - I think it's quicker if someone invites you.

I have been putting off asking (because I waste sooo much time online already) but could someone please invite me to pinterest too?

WhoresHairKnickers · 02/10/2011 11:35

Yes, I know what you mean! and doesn't that 4 hours go like half an hour online!!! Blush

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 11:54

oh yes, I agree! I only popped online to check my ebay listings and am now 15 items into a cox and cox order because I just found a discount code on mn HmmBlush.

WhoresHairKnickers · 02/10/2011 11:58

Grin No idea what Cox and Cox sell and I'm not looking!!!

addictediam · 02/10/2011 12:02

I'd love some one to invite me to pintrest how does it work?

(lurker on this thread Blush I'm too ill :( and pregnant do do any crafting this year, but making lots of notes for next!)

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 12:19

WHK - no, don't look! I've just put £60 worth of stuff in my basket and had to quickly close the page before I reached for the credit card.

addicted - people share their ideas and can make up their own board to rememberalltheideasthey'veborrowed share with others.

You can view other people's ideas and how do do them without joining but if you want to make up your own board then you need to be a member - I think!!

Kveta · 02/10/2011 12:20

if anyone fancies a pinterest invite, do please pm me! Becaroo, remember that the boards are just inspiration - there's a very good reason I don't blog about my homemade efforts :o

I've just been making labels for all my christmas booze, should be bottling it all today. bloody annoyed though, I want to taste it, and have just found out I'm pg again :o oh well, DH will have to do the honours!!

Hi everyone

I finally managed to come back, now that dd hospital visits I should be able to crack on with my homemade xmas! I have made my first batch of skittles vodka which is sitting in the cupboard, just need to order my bottles now. I am going to practice my shortbread tomorrow- told a friend I would make some for her DD's birthday party. I only have 5 weeks left of work and then start my mat leave, baby not due till early January so should have plenty time to get organised. I also bought some of the measuring cups as most of the recipes seem to ask for them, found them in Tescos. Should be quite handy as I have been getting really into the Martha Steward site too - cakes look great!

As for Pinterest, I seem to have lost many, many hours on that site! I am basically following most of you guys! DD's birthday is just before Halloween, so been looking for some inspiration for that too. It's brilliant!

kveta Congratulations on your news!

addictediam · 02/10/2011 13:59

well, not really sure i fully understand how to use pintrest but i ave been busy following and stealing lots of ideas!

buzzy girl how old is your dd? my dd is 1 on oct 29th and i'm also due mid jan spooky!

addictediam · 02/10/2011 14:01

and congratulations kveta

ToriaPumpkinPasty · 02/10/2011 17:09

Since we're all sharing, here's my Christmas board.

I've just knitted a mouse for my friend's little boy. Not strictly for Christmas but since they had two sons, one on December 22nd and one on January 12th their birthday presents come into my Christmas planning! Have to say he's a little creepy but I like him Grin He's from Knitted Toys by Zoe Mellor (you can just see them on the cover, bottom left) and I think the snake might be next on my list of things to try!

ToriaPumpkinPasty · 02/10/2011 17:10

Oh, pressed send too soon. Congratulations Kveta!

Kveta · 02/10/2011 17:35

thanks all - I'm not getting too excited as had a mc at 5 weeks in august, so am about 5 weeks now (I know; fast workers etc etc), and won't relax until, well, I can relax. So probably at the 12 weeks scan if I get that far!

lovely board toria, and i hope the rest of you enjoy pinterest :o I have a disappointingly busy week ahead of me at work, so will have to give pinterest and mn a bit of a miss. bah!

chirpchirp · 02/10/2011 17:58

Congratulations Kveta, wonderful news!

Mogs0 your creations are brilliant. Very impressed indeed! Ebay here I come....

Just finished making R2D2 cups for the Star Wars party next weekend. Really want to get back to Christmas craziness but this week I will be consumed with baking/making star wars related pun food! Darth Maul-teaser cake (groan) is top of my list!

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 18:22

Chirp - Blush Thanks!! I am the least creative person I know so I take that as a massive compliment. I'm just hoping I can get £1 each for the trees at the school fete otherwise my tree will be covered in them! Not sure what to charge for the pin cushions yet.

TimeForCake · 02/10/2011 18:29

You should easily get £1 for them mogs0. I'd charge a bit more. I saw puddings & trees in the same style for £5 in a craft fair last week! To be fair, the craft fair was for charity, so presumeably the crafter had to share her profit, but even so!

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 18:50

£1.50? As it's a school fete, the vast majority of buyers are children so I don't want to price myself out of the market! Maybe I should save the decorations for the craft fair and concentrate on more child friendly crafts for school.

I could do with some help with the wax crayon shapes. In the original link they were presented on pieces of paper with a valentines message on, can anyone help me word a Christmas message please?

chirpchirp · 02/10/2011 18:51

Oh aye, definitely charge more than a pound - £2.50 easy!

The pin cushion in the tea cup is devine, not sure of your market but if I saw it in a shop I'd happily pay £8-£10 without even thinking about it. :)

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 18:55

Shock No way! I was thinking I'd be pushing it if I asked £4 for the teacup. I'm not sure who my target audience will be either but I'm encouraged by the amount of creative people on this thread and hoping it might be the 'in' thing so would be a nice gift for a new crafter?
