Yes please martyr to the gooey brownies recipe - I have one but love gooey ones :)

How long did the crayon roll take you? Any pics to show off?

I agree alouisereg it feels weird. Just going to do stuff in the evening when it feels more seasonal! :)

MartyrStewart · 29/09/2011 10:46

My Phone is being an idiot but I will try and get some pics on my profile soon

First roll took about two hours while I figured it out, last night took about an hour Smile

Gooey Choc Brownies

150g butter
150g plain chocolate, (I used tesco value at 30p a bar)
50g White chocolate
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
175g caster sugar
100g plain flour
tbsp of drinking chocolate
A quarter teaspoon salt
100g walnuts

Melt the butter and plain chocolate in a pan. Leave to cool
Mix the sugar and eggs in a bowl with the vanilla extract until creamy.
Sift in the flour, salt and drinking chocolate to the egg mixture.
Chop the white choc and a walnuts into chunks
Add to the mixture . Mix together gently until glossy and mixed

Pour into a greased baking tin (or I used a silicone one)

Bake at gas 5 for 20 mins until they are just starting to crack on top.
Leave to cool, then cut into squares and scoff Grin

Ooh looks good, thank you!

Pigleychez · 29/09/2011 16:21

I went into my local Sainbo's and they hadn't had candy canes in yet.

I swear, finding a cansy cane in Swansea is like looking for gold dust. Or rather, peppermint ones are - there was an abundance of Strawberry ones in The Range, but i don't like them so didn't bother.

EauRouge · 29/09/2011 17:44

HopeForTheBest, mine was doing that all yesterday (on Safari), I think it's just because of all the traffic they're getting. It was working again for me earlier on today.

MartyrStewart · 29/09/2011 17:53

Would someone be able to send me an invite to pinterest please ?

chirpchirp · 29/09/2011 18:18

I think it's because they have been upgrading the site - I was still able to pin stuff the old school way via the add tab. Paitence is apparently a virtue...why can't hurry the fuck up be a virtue???

Martyr (nice name BTW!) PM me your email address.

MartyrStewart · 29/09/2011 18:27

Have done, thanks Smile

Glad to hear it! At the top of the page there is an add tab, click this open and copy and past the URL into it. I've never been able to get the pin button to work so always just use this.

FlubbaBubba · 29/09/2011 19:47

babydubs just skim reading last year's thread and saw your post about your friends/family being rude and ungrateful at the sound of homemade goods :( - what happened in the end?

acsec · 29/09/2011 21:42

I've made apple chutney, courgette and apricot chutney and next I'll make carrot and apple chutney.

I've made shaped crayons before melted the turny thing of the microwave going to make them in the oven this time. Have hundreds of broken crayons to use!

BikingViking · 29/09/2011 22:00

I have spent all my commuting time the past few days reading this thread - loving it! Haven't finished yet, but does anyone mind if I spam PM them with my email address so that I can be invited to pinterest, pretty please?!

Have just been baking oat biscuits with cinnamon, nutmeg and cranberry so everywhere smells of Christmas now!

(Dh looks a bit Hmm as normally I spend September ranting at the shops for selling Christmas stuff already Blush )

CauldronsTrulyReign · 29/09/2011 22:15

You can PM me Biking, I'll kindly invite you.

Smile
BikingViking · 29/09/2011 22:52

Thanks Cauldrons - will do now :)

thell · 30/09/2011 10:13

Ahhh, Pinterest have updated the site - making the buttons pink Hmm
It looks like you can follow individual boards now, instead of just people? Not completely sure, I refuse to get sucked in too deep!!

I've just ordered a pot of children's coloured bath fizzies, so I can add a blue tint to the fishing game bags, and maybe I'll make butterfly versions to use up the yellow and red ones.
I could make them myself, but for selling I'm nervous. Especially if I dye someone's child blue!

Anything else you could catch with a net? Tadpoles??

Scented candle makers - is now too early to make them? Will they lose their scent much in two months?

EauRouge · 30/09/2011 11:01

I don't understand the following thing on Pinterest, I seem to be following a lot of people I don't know who pin hundreds of things that I'm not interested in.

EauRouge · 30/09/2011 11:05

Oh, here's my Christmas board if anyone wants to have a look.

FlubbaBubba · 30/09/2011 11:18

I had that problem EauRouge - Pinterest chooses some people for you originally that they think Confused you might be interested in. You can click on your followers' names and click unfollow all (or you can follow individual boards if you find one you like).

Someone's broken Pinterest again :(

Time to do some RL things rather than dream away my life and my kids' lives! :o

Terpsichore · 30/09/2011 12:54

EauRouge, those Russian doll earbuds on your board are on UK Amazon too....here

EauRouge · 30/09/2011 13:11

Cool, thanks for that :). DH is half-Ukrainian and is into all that techy stuff so I'm toying with the idea of getting them for him. He'll probably give me a list of things he wants like every year though Grin

ToriaPumpkinPasty · 30/09/2011 14:24

Thanks for the Pinterest invite Flubbabubba I have spent the last wee while doing nothing constructive at all and just pinning many things Grin

Strangely, that whole "here are some people you might like" thing hooked me up with two of my best friends who I didn't know were on Pinterest. I was therefore extremely confused when I got a text from one of them warning me how addictive it is!

Have made Dino hoodies in my quest for homemade Christmas nirvana and have looked up the local stockist of ceramic paints so will be off for some of them at some point for baby handprint mugs (once the baby is actually born...)

Meantime I am just stealing everyone else's recipes!
