To those of you with 14yo dd's - what have you got them?

I am the queen of disorganised at Christmas and am still trying to think of what to get dd! She has in my opinion, everything she needs, and hasn't asked for anything over the top, as she knows we can't afford what she really wants, ie macbook laptop or Xbox. She has a laptop anyhow and a playstation but they are very old. I suggested clothes from Superdry but she said they would be too expensive. She does like to open a lot of 'bits' too. Grr silly me but hoping someone might have an idea I haven't thought of. Thanks in advance.

This is really fabulous, thank you all again. I'm going to ask on another thread what to get dp next! I know, I know, I'm the first to admit that I am sooooo badly organised when it comes to pressies.

What about the suggestion of a shopping trip in the sales? I'm not 14 (thank goodness) but this is what MIL does for me each Xmas. It means I get a new coat or a fab pair of boots at a fraction of the normal price and we both get a fun shopping trip.

Danthe4th · 19/12/2010 20:15

Republic pj's, body shop strawberry wash bag, thick tights, wooly skirt, etnies, asos has superdry on offer, got t.shirt and hoody.

republic has hoodys, joggers and tops on offer s for £70 as well, also getting mine boots but in the sale.

Lip gloss, nail varnish packs, professer laytons new ds game, jaqueline wilson new book, horse magazine, next has some lovely furry socks

BelligerentYhoULE · 19/12/2010 20:18

I got lovely thick cable knit over the knee socks in the Gap sale today for them - for wearing peeping out of biker boots.

TequilaMockinBird · 19/12/2010 20:22

My DD is 13 and has desperately wanted a blackberry for months so got her that.

Also PJ's, pandora charms, dvds, cds, make up, perfume, smellies, clothes and sweets.

Oh and we bought an IPad as a family present, but will let DD open it. She wants one but didnt ask for one as it was too expensive - cant wait to see her face Grin

panettoinydog · 19/12/2010 20:25

I have been surprised at the large bnumbe rof year 6s who watch Inbetweeners.

Very in with the young teens here.

memphis83 · 19/12/2010 20:31

you say superdry but she says its to expensive, ive asked for superdry earmuffs (no im not a teenager anymore but i loved them) think they were £16? just an idea, all the teenagers near us wear earmuffs and the odd 28 year old Grin

MissHellToe · 19/12/2010 20:35

How about Hollister as an alternative to Superdry?

shhhgobacktosleep · 19/12/2010 20:44

Dd (14) is getting an iPad, digital slr camera ( photography gcse student), the soap & glory tote currently on offer, and a military style jacket (gorgeous 100% wool from primarni Xmas Grin which she's seen and adores). She didn't actually ask for anything and will be blown away this year as she's getting much more than usual but she's working brilliantly at school a d we want to reward/ encourage her.

I meant to get dd2 some wellies and haven't got around to it.

I must admit when I read how many gadgets etc some teens get, I wonder if my dds are actually convinced that have horrible, mean parents!

My dds don't like Pandora bracelets and I wouldn't pay anywhere near that much anyway - see I AM mean! :)

BelligerentYhoULE · 19/12/2010 22:19

Oh and I think that your bag of crap is a great idea - wish I'd thought of it!

TheOriginalNutcracker · 19/12/2010 22:26

Dd1 is 13 and is getting ...

Ipod Touch
Paul's Boutique Hoody and Purse (vile but hey ho)
CSI game
Pineapple pj's
Perfume
The Wanted calendar
Miranda dvd
Slipper boots
Fluffy socks
Umbrella
Where's Stig book

I have just finnished wrapping it all, and was dismayed at how a huge pile of pressies in carrier bags can look so small once wrapped and in a pile lol.

Yes - it's terrifying.

I got all of their presents out last night to do a stock-check and they look like nothing at all but have cost nearly 200 pounds between the two of them. [cpnfused]
