I am the queen of disorganised at Christmas and am still trying to think of what to get dd! She has in my opinion, everything she needs, and hasn't asked for anything over the top, as she knows we can't afford what she really wants, ie macbook laptop or Xbox. She has a laptop anyhow and a playstation but they are very old. I suggested clothes from Superdry but she said they would be too expensive. She does like to open a lot of 'bits' too. Grr silly me but hoping someone might have an idea I haven't thought of. Thanks in advance.

I mentioned the bag of crap idea to dd2 but she wrinkled her nose up at it. She also pulled faces at the nail varnish suggestion and at my suggestion of gloves and/or a scarf.

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 20:50

does dd1 cook? Buy her a quality panettone and include nick nairns' recipe for delish bread and butter pudding Grin

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 20:54

Omg - I want dp to buy that for me!

DD1 is a strange, strange being who doesn't like bread and butter pudding.

DD2 is the one who's into cooking - dd1 is a liability in the kitchen, unfortunately.

I think dd1 would love the bag of crap tbh but dd2 turned her nose up at the idea of getting it as a present for dd1 from her.

Cute skirt for £10.

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 21:10

I like that - never heard of Republic so will have to see if we have one in Brum. It's not a shop she's ever mentioned.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 20/12/2010 21:23

Deffo Republic in Brum it's one of the really popular shops for teenagers. I'm fairly sure there's one in the Bullring.

Probably all this has been said but the 15-year-old girl in our family is getting:

Boots Soap and Glory huge 60-down-to-25-quid thing.

Knickers from Topshop, on that 'three for nine pounds' offer.

Books (again, offer from Waterstones, 3for2)

Snuggly throw for her bed.

iTunes vouchers.

Cheap DVDs from Amazon/Asda/Tesco and the like, wrapped up with popcorn.

Slippers, dressing gown and pj's.

DD has a phone with free unlimited music downloads for a year and a sewing machine.

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 23:06

A bag of popcorn I reckon

BelligerentYhoULE · 21/12/2010 09:01

Snuggly throw is a v good idea - dd2 has one but not dd1.

New dressing gown is also a good idea - and both have the advantage of making lovely big presents when wrapped! :)

KittyTwoShoes · 21/12/2010 10:30

Yes, a bag of popcorn :)

WhatsWrongWithYou · 21/12/2010 10:32

Paperchase have a few different designs in these - satisfyingly large for under the tree and really useful overnight bags.

BelligerentYhoULE · 21/12/2010 13:50

Love those Paperchase bags.

Just back - have now sorted ALL presents. Phew! :)
