DH has requested a trumpet this year :)

I'll get him a few other bits as well.

Last year I got him a lovely chunky lambswool jumper, a crepe pan (which he asked for) and some books and smellies.

hmc · 23/11/2010 12:58

I'd like to get him a nice painting, but unfortunately we don't have the budget for the works he likes!

FreudianSlimmery · 23/11/2010 13:03

I'm struggling to remember as I was super organised and did it ages ago. This is stuff for Xmas AND his birthday in Jan, haven't decided how to divide it up yet.

New Tolkein novel
Last in boring scifi book series (I've been getting them for him over the years)
Book about forensics behind Sherlock Holmes
Populous game for nintendo DS
Disney films (yes really) - Mulan, Hercules and Tarzan
Greatest hits albums of Massive Attack and Groove Armada.

Lizzylou · 23/11/2010 13:04

Golf lessons

fruitstick · 23/11/2010 13:07

hmc. I feel the same but DH's thought will be 'what's wrong with leaving them on top of the dresser and then demanding you help look for the one that's missing' Angry

I also want to buy DH an overnight bag as he keeps nicking mine when he goes away on business - but he would consider this too practical too.

I bought him slippers once as an 'extra stocking filler' He nearly divorced me.

welshandproud · 23/11/2010 13:11

Lots of various hot sauces
Cuff links
RC helicopter
2 Books
A shirt
Chilli chocolate
Signed GLC CD

Antidote · 23/11/2010 13:15

Definitely a new pair of shoes, not sure what else. I always buy him clothes/shoes as he is too tight disorganised to buy them himself.

He might get some books too if he's very good.

hmc · 23/11/2010 13:23

Blimey fruitstick - you have your work cut out there

OP posts:
fruitstick · 23/11/2010 13:27

Not really (well not in the gift buying stakes anyway).

Some PS3 game, some random part for his car, something for his garage.

He's a 13 year old boy essentially Grin

A cherry tree from me and probably a jumper.

PS3 flying game, whisky, Toblerone (every xmas, birthday and Father's day), Bad Science book from DCs.

unfitmummy · 23/11/2010 14:18

can i highjack this slightly? i am considering buying my dh a ps3, which his best friend assures me he NEEDS! my main concern is whether it will get used by him, and also by the kids. fruitstick and foundwanting have you got kids and if so do they use the ps3? do you use it? what games get most used? all my friends have a wii so i don't know much about the ps3! thanks.
