Christian Mumsnetters: how have you experienced God's presence today?

Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread to celebrate how God is working in our lives today and to encourage one another.

I'll go first: Today, I finally got an interview for a job that I have been praying for! It feels like such a direct reminder that He hears us, has a plan, and is working in the details of our lives. I know that He has opened this door for me and I will pray that He will give me the grace to handle the outcome, whatever that is!

How have you noticed God's presence, goodness, or timing over the last 24 hours? Big or small, I would love to hear your stories!

My parents in law have come over for 3 weeks (they live abroad). I have just gotten home from taking the boys to football practice to find my mother in law quietly praying the rosary in the garden. It was a really beautiful moment to witness. Although she prays every day and I've seen it many times before it really, deeply moved me. I think seeing how completely immersed she was and how peaceful she looked. It reminded me just how powerful a quiet, faithful life of prayer can be. I know she prays for me and my family and that is a beautiful act of pure love.

Heavenly Father, all good things come from You. Thank You for blessing me with the precious gift that is my wonderful mother in law. May You bless her abundantly today, and all the days of her life. Amen 🙏

This so very lovely @Ipsevenenabibas , especially when you bear in mind the 99% of MIL threads on MN, which are nowhere near so appreciative.

I love her so much. I know that's not the done thing on mumsnet 🙄. I have a complicated/difficult relationship with my own mother. But God knew what He was doing by bringing me into her family! All praise and thanks be to God!

I have awoken to greet a new day - thank you Jesus 🎉🙏. Yesterday I was with a group of people and overheard a side conversation about ‘the dark arts’ from somebody who identified themselves with paganism. I quietly sent an emergency prayer. ‘Lord, what, if anything, do You want me to do? Please give me the opportunity and please give me the words’. The group moved around and the conversation moved on, seemingly organically and easily, into me being able to share my Christian Testimony of my Faith journey. Let God do the rest 🙏

Christian Mumsnetters: how have you experienced God's presence today?

Apart from the fact I have opened my eyes to a new day, a sprinkling of rain, and a rescuer who was able to contain and release an enormous (not quite Huntsman size) spider which was lurking in my doorway and preventing me from leaving a room … thank you Lord for all of that 🙏. Yes, I know spiders are one of Your creatures, but, really?! I have experienced His presence in my heart and mind as He gave me the words (and the right heart) to deflect the works of the Enemy. All praise and glory to God in the name of our Lord Jesus 🙏

There really is something so precious about simply waking up to another day. ❤️ We can get so caught up in everything we have to do that we forget what a gift life itself is. But you never forget to be grateful @Thegreatestoftheseislove and I love that about you!

Every morning is another opportunity to thank God, to love our families, to notice the little blessings and to draw closer to Him. 🙏🏻

You are so very kind @Ipsevenenabibas 💖. Anything that you see that is ‘good’ in me all praise and glory to God for His Redeeming Grace, because it is only through Him. 🙏

Reflecting, I guess it is only through life’s experiences, one becomes acutely aware just what a gift is life itself; how so very short is our time in this life; how a tomorrow in this life is not promised, due to the infamous bus, or illness or whatever. I could have a little cry now for the ones I miss who have died. Also one’s own circumstances, so yes, I truly am grateful for each new day and what I may learn, or what new adventure awaits, or how I might have a chance to share Jesus, or have a lovely conversation with a stranger.

Absolutely and amen! I agree completely. I think I haven't fully appreciated life until fairly recently. Circumstances change and it forces you to reflect and realise just how blessed you are; how each day is a precious gift in itself. May God bless you and keep you.

This is a slightly odd way of seeing/feeling God's presence. But the sunlight coming through the clouds in this picture that my son took. (Ignore the random red arrow, he was pointing out a landmark)
Whenever I see the sun shining through like this I am reminded of God's love. I don't know why.

I don't think it is odd at all! I often say "Hello Father!" when I see the sun shining down like that!

I was in church on Saturday evening. It happened to be a Catholic church, one where I attended in junior years. I was a little overwhelmed before I got there. I have sensory sensitivity as one of my conditions and it is tested at moderate levels, it can vary still. As a child my mum bought this Jesus Christ wall art with the sacred heart. I would take it seriously and feel like it could make me feel conscious of not being perfect enough. I sat in the church and a woman put a picture of Jesus Christ’s face up and I was right in front of it and my conscious went up making my thoughts race a bit like at home again. I do like art, just then I was a bit overwhelmed.

Then, a brilliant white light/essence appeared in front of me. I knew it was connected to this case and it was there to help or reassure me in the way that it knows how. It was the work of the Holy Spirit. I did feel reassured, I don’t like to take their time over this I was thankful though.

I think that sounds like such a profound and reassuring experience @Justmerach . Sometimes God meets us in the moments when we are overwhelmed and reminds us that we are not alone. I’m glad you felt reassured and comforted. May that experience draw you ever closer to Jesus and give you peace when things feel overwhelming. 🙏✝️

Good evening all! I have been meaning to post about this for a week now. I hope it makes you smile! So I had been out with my husband and our children and I hadn't eaten all day. On the way home I decided to pop into Macdonalds (don't judge me) 😂. Anyway my eldest didn't want to come in so he sat in the car. Despite it being a fast food restaurant, it took quite some time for the order to arrive. Eventually it did and we ate the food outside in the sunshine. After we had finished we got back into the car and found the battery was dead - my son had been listening to the radio and apparently this killed the battery! Lesson learnt. I contacted the RAC as its part of my insurance policy and I got a notification that I could expect someone between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. It was 4pm and my husband had a scan appointment at 5pm! My husband started to fret and I did the best thing anyone can do when faced with a problem - that's right - pray! I prayed something like 'Lord God please help me right now. You know what's wrong with my car and You know how important it is that my husband gets to his appointment on time. If it is Your will please solve this problem for me. I trust You to help me. Amen.' My husband decides to take matters into his own hands and recruits two young men to push the car in hopes of jump starting it. As they are pushing the car around the car park less than 90 seconds after praying a lovely AA man pulls up. He had driven by us, saw what was happening and said he felt "compelled to do a good deed"! Thank you lovely strangers for your help. But above all else, Thank You Lord for answering my prayer!

Today I accompanied somebody on a '2-week pathway' referral. It was the usual - well now we've seen you and ticked the 2-week box, you will have to wait for the actual procedure and it could be over 4 to 6 weeks, - manipulation of the true figures. Up went the silent emergency prayer and after some conversation with the assembled medics, time was suddenly found today for the procedure. All done and dusted. The rest in in God's hands. 🙏

This gave me goosebumps to read. God is so, so good! I will say a prayer for you and this person you refer to tonight before bed. May God bless you and keep you both 🙏

I've just come back to this post and read it again. It moves me deeply when I find out that someone is praying for me — even a stranger.

There is something so incredibly intimate and beautiful about knowing that someone has taken a moment out of their own day to bring my name before God. It makes me feel connected not only to that person, but to God too. ❤️

Prayer is one of the kindest things we can do for another person. We may not be able to fix their problems or take away their pain, but we can place them lovingly into God’s hands.

Knowing that someone is praying for me genuinely touches my soul. It reminds me that we are never really alone, and that there is something so wonderful about Christians carrying one another in prayer. Honestly, being prayed for is one of the most loving gifts someone can give. I will keep all of you Christian Mumsnetters in my prayers tonight 🙏❤️

A work situation today, I needed to contact the 'top of the tree' over a concerning situation. The email was sent with a prayer 🙏 Things could have gone either way but the almost immediate reply from 'the top' was more than excellent. Thank you Lord.🙏
