Christian Mumsnetters: how have you experienced God's presence today?

Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread to celebrate how God is working in our lives today and to encourage one another.

I'll go first: Today, I finally got an interview for a job that I have been praying for! It feels like such a direct reminder that He hears us, has a plan, and is working in the details of our lives. I know that He has opened this door for me and I will pray that He will give me the grace to handle the outcome, whatever that is!

How have you noticed God's presence, goodness, or timing over the last 24 hours? Big or small, I would love to hear your stories!

This week has been a bit difficult at times, but my spirit through the Holy Spirit has buoyed me up (comforted me) by sharing some things that was helpful to me to enable me to feel God’s* *presence and know that God walks with me through this .

I'm sorry that you've had a difficult week;❤️ (great that you have managed to join us here though Rach 😊).Glad you have found comfort through the Holy Spirit, who meets us right where we are and reminds us that we're never carrying our burdens alone.

Do you mind sharing what things you are referring to? Was it Scripture?

Good morning @Thegreatestoftheseislove what a great way to start the day - full of gratitude!

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118: 24).

I'm also feeling blessed to wake up and be gifted this day and I'm feeling blessed that you didn't get called Home either! I always love to read your posts and feel happy whenever I see your name come up in my notifications. May God continue to bless you and keep you for many, many, more years!

Have a great day to anyone reading this!

Good morning @FuzzyPuffling hope you are well!

For me, having children gave me a deeper understanding of sacrificial love and to put the needs of others first no matter what the personal cost.

I observed something quite difficult and the spirit helped to clear my mind by sending me a scene of a running waterfall image. They have done this before and it reminds me that the spirit is everlasting water and the river of life. I like waterfalls to and they give me hope. Also, I said last night before I posted thinking of this thread to that the week had been quite difficult-but God had stood by me and I was thankful for that. Then they reminded me of Christ on the cross which meant to me that God’s presence was there with me going through this which I was thankful.

You have mentioned that you like to see God through nature. I thought that I would mention that I have a book that was recommended by a minister on seeing God through nature and life. I bought it from Amazon the book, I bought a used copy fairly cheaply and I do like the book. It is intended for young children, but the minister said they think it can be enjoyed by adults to. It is called Images of God for young children by Marie Helene Delval.

Ipsevenenabibas · 25/07/2026 11:46

@Justmerach Thank you for sharing that, Rach. ❤️ That's really beautiful. I love how the Holy Spirit meets each of us in ways that speak to our hearts. The image of the waterfall made me think of Jesus' words about the "living water" and of the river of life flowing from God. It's amazing how the Lord can use even something as simple as an image from nature to remind us that His grace is always flowing towards us.

I'm also so glad you were reminded of Christ on the Cross. We know that Jesus entered into our suffering so that we would never have to suffer alone. When life is difficult, looking to the Crucifix reminds me that He is right there with us, carrying us through.

Thank you for the book recommendation too—I hadn't heard of it before, but it sounds lovely. I find that God often speaks to me through the beauty of creation as well. It always draws my heart back to Him and reminds me of His constant presence. Hope you have a great day.

This is so true! I don't know how familiar any of you are with the song 'Mary Did You Know'? We have many discussions on our house about whether it's a Christmas song, or if it can be played all year round.
Anyway the line
"And when you kiss your little baby
You've kissed the face of God"
Makes me cry nearly everytime. Because of course the song means baby Jesus. But I think it's applicable to all babies. We are all his precious children.

Have a good day everyone.

Same! It's so emotive and deeply moving.

Yes and yes! Imagine a world transformed by the realisation that God dwells within every human heart, moving us to treat every person we meet as sacred...

Grin DS1 insists it's not a Christmas song. DS2 says it is. I think it technically is, but listen to it whenever I'm in the mood. I was gutted that Pentatonix didn't sing it when we saw them live. I don't know if they sang the original, but it's my favourite version.

Thegreatestoftheseislove · 25/07/2026 14:54

@Ipsevenenabibas 😂
@BlueFairyBugsBooks I love Pentatonix, were they worth seeing?

FuzzyPuffling · 25/07/2026 15:01

Oh dear...I'm not a fan of babies. ( Mine were ok!) God clearly has something else in store for me...possibly kittens?

Yes! They were amazing. My son bought me a ticket for Christmas last year and we saw them in Cardiff in Feb.

This made me chuckle 😅
I'm also a kitten fan...I can't decide if I prefer puppies or kittens though. Basically anything small/newborn I'm all for it!

Our boycat quite likes him; they're both part of the same kitty gang that hang out in the back lane. In the style of Top Cat.

I love a baby anything! Mmmm, maybe except spiders or snakes.

Again for me, the blessing was found in God's Creation. I revived a little honeybee with some sweetened water and was delighted to see a froglet in my minipond. I also enjoyed the company of a much-loved friend (who does not know the Lord (yet 🙏) ).

My neighbour's cat (missing since Friday) returned! We prayed for his return yesterday...thank you God.

I'm so glad you managed to revive the little honeybee (they are so precious!) I found a little bee in my garden last week, on the ground. I gave him some sugar water but sadly it wasn't enough. It was quite moving to observe; he tried to fly and move with all of his might but after about 10 minutes of struggling, he passed away 😢. My son buried him in the garden and made a little headstone with a cross drawn on with chalk.
