Christian Mumsnetters: how have you experienced God's presence today?

Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread to celebrate how God is working in our lives today and to encourage one another.

I'll go first: Today, I finally got an interview for a job that I have been praying for! It feels like such a direct reminder that He hears us, has a plan, and is working in the details of our lives. I know that He has opened this door for me and I will pray that He will give me the grace to handle the outcome, whatever that is!

How have you noticed God's presence, goodness, or timing over the last 24 hours? Big or small, I would love to hear your stories!

I am not going to get into a theological discussion (ahem)😁 but I would love to think there are honybees and much loved pets in heaven. 💕

Bees and cats in heaven please. And butterflies.

I can't believe that God would create such beautiful things and not have them in His kingdom.

When my boys were small (now 21 and 19) we had a long long discussion about animals in heaven. DS1s much loved hamster had died and we were debating whether he was in the same heaven that we would go to, a separate one, and how we'd find him when we get there. I miss those kind of explorations of faith.

Thegreatestoftheseislove · 27/07/2026 19:52

No spiders, nor snakes though.

Lol I'm serious. Please discuss. I know the Catholic Church has no official dogma on the eternal destiny of animals. I feel like @FuzzyPuffling and can imagine God would bring them all home. But interested in reading what you think....I'll wait 😂

I'm C of E and asked this question of a vicar. He (possibly slightly reluctantly) said yes to animals in Heaven.

DD, in training to be a vicar, is definitely on the yes side.

You are making me smile @Ipsevenenabibas but this is such a lovely uplifting thread and the subject of our darling pets is such an emotive one ... thankfully, our salvation is not dependant on what we believe regarding animals in heaven, so I won't be drawn - as the truth is, I don't actually want to believe what I understand. 😑

Ah monkeys...im not so keen on monkeys.

Just done some Googling..
" If you need your dog/cat/ fish with you to be happy in Heaven, then God will see to it that your dog/cat/fish makes the cut".
Possible paraphrase there.

Also ignoring all the " animals have no soul" stuff. La la la la la la la....

You make a good point. This is a lovely thread... I've created a thread to discuss the matter....over to you 😂

Please, everyone here is welcome to join me over there to discuss! 🤗 I think it would be an interesting conversation to have! Appreciate it can be quite emotive though!

Oh no, now I'm worrying I've put pressure on you @Thegreatestoftheseislove . Please feel free to join me on the other thread to discuss the matter. But for clarity:- I don't wish to pressure you nor make you uncomfortable. If you don't want to continue the conversation I can understand and respect that completely!

Today I have been to a beach in Cornwall which holds a very special place in my heart. I spent many years growing up on holiday here and it is probably my favourite place on God's green earth! Anyway it has been over 30 years since I was last here and for some reason I felt drawn to the cave there. I've attached a photo that I took inside said cave, which is unaltered/not filtered. I was blown away by the beauty of it. I kept touching it and I felt physically connected to God. It moved me deeply actually! I think caves can be a sacred space where the material world opens up to the divine. God is good 🙏

I used to live in Cornwall. The scenery was beautiful, but we were still driven out! Now we live somewhere fairly close, but far less prestigious, but God has called us here, so here we are. What next for us, God, what next?

Ipsevenenabibas · 27/07/2026 21:24

What do you mean by driven out? 😮 @FuzzyPuffling

I've never watched the Wicker man and have just googled it 😳 I'm glad you're out of there! My goodness!

We're fine now..life is calmer, even if the view isn't so good!
And we have two churches in easy walking distance, so can enjoy a wider experience of worship.

Ipsevenenabibas · 27/07/2026 21:45

Ahh the infinite power of God to redeem any situation for us 🙏 @FuzzyPuffling

I just wanted to come back and share an answer to another prayer... I got the job! 😊 I truly believe God has been guiding me through this whole process. There were moments of uncertainty, but He has been faithful every step of the way. God is so good. His timing is perfect, and today I'm feeling incredibly grateful. Praise God! 🙏
