How do I handle phoning the GP tomorrow?

DD saw a Behavioural Opthamologst on Wednesday

The BO phoned the GP on Thursday - she emailed Thursday evening & Friday evening to see if the GP had been in touch; she hasn't

The BO says I need to chance the GP tomorrow.

So when do I ring first thing or after lunch?

What do I say?

I'm being insecure & sad again

Just turn up to Moorfields A & E.

Oh, and report the GP and his surgery.

MumInBeds · 17/05/2010 21:12

Good grief, that's rubbish, no wonder your GP can get away with being so dreadful!

This page www.norfolk-pct.nhs.uk/news/2008/mar/onthemove.html says the main PALS number (0800 587 4132) is covering the area and the number for complaints is 01603 697381.

Katymac · 17/05/2010 21:25

I thought I was being stupid but it was crap info wasn't it

Thanks for finding that number - I'm not firing on all cylinders atm

I am really disgusted at your gp's attitude!

Katymac · 17/05/2010 22:52

Not dramatically impressed myself

I thought the they government brought in all those you have to be seen same day if it's an emergency etc etc etc.

Clearly your dd needs an emergency tomorrow, err it's got worse?

Katymac · 17/05/2010 22:56

Yes but you don't understand - DD's sight loss isn't real so it doesn't count

At least that's how it feels

Ermmm what else is counted as urgent that can mysteriously cure itself on the way there........

I think she may come down with tonsillitis....

Sadly, i don't think this treatment is rare..my DD lost her speech last August, we weren't even SEEN until January and are still waiting for test results to show what is going on.

Katymac · 18/05/2010 09:17

Or maybe I will contact the practise manager?

Katymac · 18/05/2010 09:52

OK

I phoned the Optician & said to the receptionist that I no longer had any perspective on the issue & that I needed to know if I should cause a fuss or just wait patiently

She is going to ring me back

KickArseQueen · 18/05/2010 12:59

Katymac, that is a really good call, hopefully they will call back soon and then if they say make a big fuss you can feel totally justified. Hope they call back soon.

NoseyNooNoo · 18/05/2010 13:39

Have you heard yet?

www.neurosymptoms.org/#/visual-symptoms/4539525685 Have you seen this website - i seem to recall that your dd has functional symptoms. The site has been really useful for me.

Katymac · 18/05/2010 15:53

Thanks for that - I will read

OP posts:
Katymac · 18/05/2010 17:19

She hasn't phoned back yet - I don't know what to do

OP posts:
grumpypants · 18/05/2010 18:36

what do you hope to achieve from the GP? A referral to the opthalmic specialist? A different referral? Sorry, I haven't read through properly.
