Waiting for transport to OOH with DD

DD (3.6) woke up today with what seemed like a cold, but then was sick everywhere and her temp shot up, was 38.6C, gave calpol and 90 mins later it was 39C, agve Calprofen and called NHS24 (Scotland)..who were concerned, as she seems really ill, and are sending a taxi to take her to out of hours GP.

Normally DH could drive us but of course he is at the Scottish Cup Final in Glasgow.

Am so stressed out.

Last time she had this it was a nasty ear infection, she just seems so unwell...

Taxi due in 20 mins, I got mixed up and was ready 30 mins early, so she has her coat on, is probably too hot now.

Told my mum she didn't have time to come round and come with us, but she would have, if I hadn't got time mixed up..!

take her coat off if she's warm already. stating the obvious but if you're in a tizz you may not have thought of it.

have you packed essentials to take?

not sure i can carry her around the OOH but feel mean putting her in her buggy

yes i have a bag packed thanks, was all ready to go 30 mins early. I think she is cooler now with the Calprofen.

poor baby. if she's feeling poorly she might appreciate a ride in the buggy. take it.

although from past experience she will perk up when there and run around, making me feel silly.

she seems to get super-ill with even small things..we are waiting for the results of metabolic tests at the moment in fact...

ah yes - the instant cure for all children's ills.

spend hours worrying and fightingfor an appointment. get them to the waiting room. they instantly improve and make you look mental.

what a worry. how long will the tests be?

i don't know, the tests were done March 10th and we are still waiting, asked GP to chase it up last week but still nothing. They did lots of different tests though (she regressed a year ago).

DH keeps calling at half time to check how she is, haven't answered, he has been looking forward to this match for ages so don't want to spoil it!

can see you rpoint. will you let him know once she's been seen?

2 months waiting for results seems a bit excessive. nag them.

i might, if they say she is OK I will prob just let him go out afterwards with his mates as he planned!

it is a long time, like torture really, sort of forget about it until something like this happens..!

DD sees paedatrician regulary. it drives me nuts when he says - 'see you in 3 months' then there isn't an appointment available for 5 months, then the appointment gets cancelled and put back another 3 months. Happens every bloody time. Makes me wish to win the lottery and be able to book appointments when they should be booked.

still think 2 months is too long.

It is..apparently the genetic tests can take a LONG time though. GP said she would chase it up on Wednesday....still nothing...

Have you got snacks and water? for you and DD?

Oh dear, I hate it when they get so crappy so quick, DD's both have been most ill when DH was away, with DD2 he got hit by a car (he was on a motorbike, and was fine) on the way home to the hosptial, that was fun
DD2 is veyr hot and grumpy, been off her food today, just borrowed thermometer of my mate (can't find mine) and she is over 39.
She will perk up in the hosptial though, you know she will

just remebering my 4 hour wait on new years day in OOH. it was a shocker. DH had abandoned me there. alone. with no money or drink. bsard.
