"Just an open chat" inviting people to dish out their conspiracy theories 🙃

We see you, OP.

Dollenganger333 · 04/05/2024 18:32

This won't go well.

I used to be very vaccine hesitant. I attribute it to what was my poor mental health. Now that I’m well, I’m no longer inclined to be suspicious.

I now see vaccination as a generally great thing. All my children are up to date with their vaccinations. Vaccination damage does happen but it is quite rare and I think that vaccines get better all the time as medicine improves.

plasq · 04/05/2024 18:41

My child has had every vaccine offered.

I have had every vaccine offered.

Diseases like measles can kill and maim.

The ONLY reason to not vaccinate a child is if their doctor has told you your child shouldn't have that specific vaccine.

Pretty sure this isn't what you wanted to hear.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 04/05/2024 18:44

Reasons for - to prevent ill heath and protect against life altering and life trethening diseases.

Reasons against - lack of education or belief in conspiracies.

AllThePotatoesAreSinging · 04/05/2024 18:49

My children are vaccinated because I don’t want them to die or end up maimed by diseases that were largely eradicated until that utter bellend Andrew Wakefield made up a load of hogwash about vaccines causing autism.

No vaccines please. I don’t want an autistic child. I’d rather have one that is deaf, dumb, blind, or all 3 like Helen Keller was thanks to measles/rubella/meningitis (the doctors said it was brain fever, we’ve got vaccines for all of these possible causes now).

sheoaouhra · 04/05/2024 18:51

Reasons to vaccinate - stay alive and healthy. Protect those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons

Reasons not to vaccinate - medical reasons, as advised by properly qualified physician.

sheoaouhra · 04/05/2024 18:51

People who don't vaccinate their children should not have children

Comedycook · 04/05/2024 18:53

Yes of course my dc were vaccinated. Wouldn't occur to me not to.

Nicelynicelyjohnson · 04/05/2024 18:54

OP, what are your feelings about it all?

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 04/05/2024 18:56

I would like my child to live to adulthood rather than dying of a completely preventable disease, so I chose to vaccinate her.

LetsGoRoundTheRoundabout · 04/05/2024 18:59

None of my children have any indicators that they would have a reaction to a vaccine, so of course they’re vaccinated. Funnily enough I prefer that they don’t suffer death or permanent disability from a disease we can vaccinate against. And by vaccinating, we contribute to the eradication of those diseases in the wider population, which helps to protect the very small number of children who are medically vulnerable to vaccinations. Sadly those children are being put at increased risk by the increasing numbers of parents making the absolutely awful choice to refuse vaccines for their child when they have no medical reason to do so.

longdistanceclaraclara · 04/05/2024 19:03

Your opinion op?

Of course my children are vaccinated

PuttingDownRoots · 04/05/2024 19:05

We did delay DD2s vaccinations. She had a bad illness at 7 months, with lingering effects afterwards. Probably a bit paranoid, we were worried about overloading her immune system while she completely got over it.
She had her 13month vaccinations at 2yo, then had all the following boosters on schedule.

The HV did point out that other babies and toddlers having their vaccinations helped to protect those babies/toddlers who weren't well enough for their own.

TheTimeTravellerswifeisaFraser · 04/05/2024 19:07

There’s a measles epidemic going round OP. Protect your child from it.

BeaRF75 · 04/05/2024 19:08

When I was a baby, polio still existed in the UK. My godfather was unable to attend my baptism, because there was an outbreak in his town and I'd not (yet) been vaccinated.
Now polio is eradicated, and that's entirely due to vaccination.
Measles used to kill children, now you never hear of that happening ..... because of vaccination.
We are so lucky to live in a country that administers vaccines to children routinely

likepebblesonabeach · 04/05/2024 19:30

My DC's are both fully vaccinated.
The only reason I could have been able to justify not vaccinating then would be if I had been advised to on medical grounds not to by their doctor due to medical conditions

Beginningless · 04/05/2024 19:32

I wouldn’t give my children the covid vaccine. No need and not well tested enough in my view. But other vaccines, yes.

berksandbeyond · 04/05/2024 19:33

My child is fully vaccinated because I am not stupid

TheMuskratOfDestiny · 04/05/2024 19:41

My children are both fully vaccinated because I love and care about them and their wellbeing.

Hotpinkangel19 · 04/05/2024 19:58

All of my 4 children have had every vaccination offered except the Covid vaccine.

My children are fully vaccinated because I love and care about them! Their dad is a paramedic and sees first hand what can easily happen to the unvaccinated ones!

People who 'choose not to vaccinate' should not have children, it really is inexcusable and disgusting.

Funny isn’t it, how stupid people never seem to realise that they are stupid

Couldn’t have put it better myself, it’s an absolute insult to anyone with asd to suggest that’s ‘worse’ than a killer disease. And as a parent of a meningitis survivor (a strain for which there is no vaccine) it was the most harrowing month of my life, and each day we face the consequences of this horrific disease.
and anyone who parrots about ‘research’ for anti vax- no Facebook is not research….

PuttingDownRoots · 04/05/2024 20:08

I think its important that those who chose not to vaccinate recognise that the reason they have that luxury is that the majority of people do vaccinate.
