people that have had experience with single mmr vaccine what ones did you opt for ?
and can you have rubella single dose later in life (if planning a pregnancy as i heard thst got stoppers? but i as an adult had rubella about 2 years ago

Do you mean can you vaccinate against melease, mumps and rubella in single vaccines? Or what happens if you only have one dose of MMR?

It isn’t possible in the UK to get separate vaccines for melease, mumps and rubella.

You cant get single vaccines for mmr. The only 1 left that is a single vaccine is the measles. There is no single mumps or rubella vaccine being made any more

My eldest had single vaccines. By the time my youngest was here (now 8)I could only get one of the 3 so she had the full MMR.

This is what I thought! What private clinic have you found OP because all 3 as separate vaccines has got to be impossible?

They can only offer a single measles vaccine. Separate mumps and rubella vaccines no longer exist so you won't find them anywhere including private clinics

If you can find single vaccines they won't be licensed.

What are your concerns? Have you discussed them with a medical professional?

Single Rubella & Mumps Availability
The Serum Institute of India (SII) have stopped manufacturing single rubella vaccines (R Vax). This mirrors what Sanofi Pasteur did with Rudivax (Rubella vaccine) in 2012 . The last batch produced will expire at the end of January 2015. Therefore, the single rubella vaccine will not be available after this date. The single Mumps vaccine has not been available since 2010. This means that only the single Measles vaccine, the Measles and Rubella combined vaccine and the MMR vaccine are now currently available.

You night have had a combined rubella/measles injection or it could even have been the mmr. Mumps single vaccine hasn't been produced for 12/13 years now

I had all my children vaccinated separately in a private clinic (run by an NHS doctor taking private clients) for measles, mumps and rubella (the mumps one was a nightmare to get, the Dr had issues getting a licence to get it from Germany at the time) but that was almost 13 years ago.

It cost around £100 a jab at that time. You might be able to find a gp with a private licence?

I had the single injections but that was over 40 years ago so it's probably changed since then! The mumps one had to be ordered in as it wasn't routinely given on the NHS at the time.

As an aside, I am autistic. But would I be if I'd had the MMR...? Yes. Of course I would. It's genetic, it doesn't come from a vaccine.

As an adult they now offer the mmr if you need a vaccine. For children it's important to have rubella (for much publicised reasons linked to birth defects) and mumps (causes infertility in post puberty males) both have small risk of even more serious complications. Heard immunity means these diseases aren't in the general population reducing the likelihood of anyone catching them.

The MMR is no more or less dangerous than other childhood vaccines, and the benefits are very good. Yes ever vaccine carries a very very low chance of complications but the bigger risks are not vaccinating

When they asked the question "shall I get a dog?", they weren't calling you a dog, but making an example, ie that only asking for positive experiences isn't going to help you make a rational decision.

You owe them an apology.

Couldn't get them years ago. I'd be surprised if that's changed.

My brother and his wife were looking at single vaccines then changed their minds when they realised that their son was going to be injected three times instead of once and they didn’t want to subject him to three jabs.
Are you happy to share why you would rather have single instead of the combined MMR?
