I have three boys

A 12 yr old who is 4ft11 and 154lbs
A 9 yr old who is 4ft3 and 79lb
And a 3yr old who is 34 inches tall and 55lbs*

I'm looking for some perspective on their heights/weights so I know how they compare with other kids.

*I am aware that this is unusually heavy.

Sirzy- I told him not to give them too much, I was in Brighton until about 8 this morning because my mother there was ill. I'll have to wait for my DH to get back from work to ask him what they had for tea.

I'm sorry some posters are giving you a hard time Elaine.

Have you managed to talk to a medical professional about your children's diet?

Karoleann · 31/10/2014 16:19

My three are DS1(8) 146cm 6st 2lb
DS2(6) 122cm 3st 4lb
DD (3) 98cm 2st 3lb.

DS1 is always at the end of the healthy weight and tipped into the overweight BMI recently.
We basically cut down on apple juice and he only drunk water, made sure he had a decent meal at lunchtime at school (he was coming home really hungry) and eliminated snacks between meals.

I would contact your GP and ask for a refferal to a dietician and anyone else who can help. You know there is an issue so now the fight is to get the help for you as a family to tackle the issue.

If you search on Facebook there is a page for a charity called HOOP (helping overcome obesity problems) which offers support to people who are tackling weight problems or who have children who are. They have a closed group which is very supportive.

Sorry you are getting such a hard time.

DS is not overweight, but would be given the opportunity. I have to seriously regulate his food even at 19months, he has no off button.

I use that link I posted earlier if I ever forget portion sizes, I don't let him eat off my plate, and we have specific snack and meal times which he is slowly learning. I don't keep crap in the house so it's not there to give him, meaning his snacks are healthy.

Any crap for me or DH we don't eat in front of DS.

We also encourage him to walk before going in the buggy, and we have just signed him up to football classes.

Portiom sizes and a balances diet is definitely the biggest thing for us.

OP please ask for your post identifying your DC by name to be deleted.

My DS (13 1/2), is over 5'10" and about 147 lbs I think. He is very broad and muscular (trains/plays football at least 5 days a week) and there is not an ounce of flab on him ATM.

Hi OP - just to let you know we have deleted the post mentioning all three of your children's names. We just felt they were very easily identifiable because of the nature of your posts and we wouldn't want them to be identified in RL. Hope you don't mind.
