Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

Great post by MrsDeVere.

justspiro I love the maps.

How did the rest of the day go Trazzle? Is ds able to go home tonight?

Whatevertheweather · 11/10/2012 21:16

Oh Trazzle you are a lovely mother and you are doing your very best in the very worst situation. There is sadly no guide book for these situations. Just try to remember at his age he lives very much in the present so once something ick is done it will be forgotten. Also the anticipation and fear that you feel about upcoming meds/treatment he won't have.

Give yourself a break lovely. You will instinctively doing all the right things xx

www.gratefulness.org/candles (group = TT)

Candles burning brightly. Thinking of you.

Trazzletoes · 11/10/2012 21:53

Spiro you did not seriously just do that! Bless your heart.

DS doing ok, or as well as can be expected having been forced to sleep 2 days in a row. 1 more day to go at the moment for the end of his scan to see exactly where the cancer is.

Had to hold him down again for medicine tonight. Still, only one more day to go this time. At least DH was here though.

Also lovely to meet the very lovely Kinky.

Thank you all, as ever, for your support. I wish I could nominate you all for Christmas x

Sending you as many positive thoughts as I can x

ShiftyFades · 11/10/2012 22:59

Nighty night Trazzle. You are truly amazing and your son and family are very lucky to have you.

sending you many, many cuddles. Sleep well x

thewhistler · 11/10/2012 23:13

Trazzle, a couple more thoughts from my family's experience to try to help.

Is there a favourite teddy ? Can teddy also have the horrible medicine? Ann Canal her doll did when my sister was seriously ill, and everytime that DSis had to have foul medicines and injections, Ann Canal had to have them too.

And yes, the ILS sending a postcard every day would help too. Or MN. If you want me to join/ create a post card rota, pm me. If so, let us know about hygiene rules eg double enveloped.

On the sticker front, Gosh used to have great stickers. Snails for if you had been good waiting for hours, vampire bats for the blood tests, snakes and teddies for other things. They helped just a little. Don't know where you get them but can ask.

I wake in the night and pray for you. Those lights continue all across the world all the time.

JustSpiro · 11/10/2012 23:18

Spiro you did not seriously just do that

You'd be amazed at the lengths I'll go to to avoid starting the housework Wink!

Glad today wasn't any more trying than it had to be - best of luck for tomorrow and hope the outcome is good news.

pinkbraces · 11/10/2012 23:31

Another splodge from Manchester, sending you all lots of thoughts and prayers x

ToffeeWhirl · 11/10/2012 23:59

Just popping in on my way to bed. Sorry you had a horrid time administering medicine, Trazzle. Hope all goes well tomorrow. Night.

oxeye · 12/10/2012 00:03

Trazzle - I still find post exciting for being post and not a bill oh yes, that is why I think it would be exciting for DS
I'll send you a sticker too, you sure deserve it
do educate me as to double envelope and anything else - if you want to PM me do

escorpion · 12/10/2012 00:26

Lighting a candle and praying for you here in Santiago, Chile. You are so so brave and so is your little one. JustSpiro, that is an amazing thing you did. Trazzletoes you have so many people rooting for you and your boy.

toomuch2young · 12/10/2012 00:52

Splodge still shining from Cheshire.
You and your boy are frequently in my thoughts since hearing of your battle.
I'd love to send him something in the post - even if just a cartoony card or stickers, doesn't have to be now when lots of offers but anytime at all -just message me a postal address.
Your doing great..

barefootcook · 12/10/2012 02:50

Thanks for that Trazzletoes-it's so kind of you to take the time to tell me how to use the site at this stressful time. Your little man is absolutely gorgeous. We all think that about our kids but he REALLY is. I have a son the same age and live in New Zealand- there are lots of us out there thinking and praying for you guys.

Pudgy2011 · 12/10/2012 03:04

Map splodge burning brightly from me here in Grand Cayman.

My heart goes out to you Trazzle, sending you all the love and strength I can to you, your little man and your family xxx
