In Butterfly Beach, Jacqueline Wilson's £1 World Book Day book, we once again meet the unlikely best friends from The Butterfly Club. To celebrate its publication on 2 March, we're asking you to tell us your favourite Jacqueline Wilson books.

Selma can't wait to go on holiday with her best friend forever, Tina. But a holiday with Tina means a holiday with her triplet sisters, too - and it's not long before Selma feels like the odd one out. Can their shared love of butterflies bring Selma and Tina together again?

Did you know that Jacqueline has also recently turned her hand to writing historical books, including Hetty Feather, Clover Moon and modern-day retellings of classic stories including Katy (based on What Katy Did) and Four Children and It (based on Five Children and It). And we're giving you the chance to read (or re-read!) some of these titles, and more. All you need to do is tell us...

Did you have a favourite Jacqueline Wilson book growing up? Do your DCs have different favourites today? Let us know to win a whole library of Jacqueline Wilson books, worth £100.

Butterfly Beach is just £1 or FREE with your child's World Book Day token.

This discussion is sponsored by Penguin Random House and ends on 16 March

I read a lot of JW growing up and have saved my own dog earned copies to pass onto DD when she is old enough to not just try to chew on them! Loved Illustrated Mum, Bad Girls, Double Act, the 'Girls' series. But the most meaningful one for me was the SuitcaseKid - I first read it during my own parents divorce and it helped me process my feelings in ways I had forgotten about until seeing this thread!

ElenaGreco123 · 21/02/2017 20:00

I really liked The Illustrated Mum.

Megansmumsie · 22/02/2017 14:09

My favourite was always the Suitcase Kid. My daughter's is The story of Tracey Beaker.

Getting involved with books now is very different to when i was younger, thankfully (finally) reading is a lot 'cooler' than it was and access to your favourite authors is easier- eg twitter, book fests, we're totally in our element!!

I'm too old to have read the fab JW as a youngster but I'm really enjoying discovering her books with dd (almost 9). My favourite is Cookie, my heart really goes out to her, saddled with ridiculous name, stuck at a snobby school and walking on eggshells at home with an abusive dad. I work some nights and dd raced to the end of the book, reading to herself and her dad but I was so gratified to hear of a happy ending for Cookie.

We're really hoovering up all the books, just finished Bad Girls and Lola Rose, have read all of Hetty Feather's escapades and Clover Moon. Dd says her favourite is Tracy Beaker, she says she admires her toughness although she knows a lot of it is an act. 'She doesn't cry, or if she does, she says it's hay fever.'

burwellmum · 23/02/2017 08:27

My children loved Tracy Beaker. My DS's class chose The Illustrated Mum as their class reader and despite this - normally it destroys all pleasure in the book - he talked animatedly about it.

Bellroyd · 23/02/2017 11:04

Never read anything but granddaughter loves Hetty Feather books

SuzCG · 23/02/2017 11:28

I was long before JW books but have thoroughly enjoyed discovering them with my two. My absolute favourite (and my daughters) is Hetty Feather.

CoramGirl · 23/02/2017 21:51

I'm too old to have read Jacqueline's books as a child myself (tho I heard a lot about Tracy Beaker from my nieces!), and my daughter has only just reached the right age. However, we've just started watching the TV version of Hetty Feather and the look of amazement on her face when I told her that one of her grandads was also a Coram Foundling was fantastic - I know we're going to love reading that series of books together and being able to use them as a springboard to talk about a complicated part of our families history will be brilliant!

Hopezibah · 24/02/2017 21:27

I absolutely ADORED 4 children and IT and thought it was such a clever thing to re-write and bring up to date - I read it before I let the kids read it as i enjoyed it so much!

My son really enjoyed hetty feather - I think the books are predominantly aimed at girl readers so it was really great to see my son happily enjoying them too as i think the issues can cover anyone.

NanFlanders · 25/02/2017 09:33

My dd (10) says "my favourite jw is Secrets. I really liked it because india, one of the two girls, really likes Anne Frank and so do i, so I can relate to her. Also, It is very dramatic because the other girl, Treasure has to escape from her violent step dad and dramatic stories are always the ones i like best. That is why secrets is my favourite jw book."

Angelil · 25/02/2017 17:53

Love the early ones: Glubbslyme, The Suitcase Kid, How To Survive Summer Camp etc.

BlackSusie2004 · 25/02/2017 22:18

I loved the Tracy Beaker books, both funny and sad at the same time.......

rachelmi · 27/02/2017 14:45

I loved all Tracy Beaker stories!

shadydelta · 01/03/2017 19:49

My daughter is 9 and is a massive Jaqueline Wilson fan. I save book store points which she always ends up spending on another to add to her reading pile. Her favourite are the Hetty Feather books. I usually find her in bed with her duvet tucked around her and the book resting on her knees!!

glad25 · 02/03/2017 13:59

I loved Tracey Beaker

agreaves · 03/03/2017 14:27

My NIECE loves books by Jacqueline Wilson and her favourites have to be the Hetty Feather , she says she wants to be a writer when shes older xxx

Larnipoo · 03/03/2017 19:44

My son adores Tracy Beaker. My son attends special needs school and a couple of his class mates are in care and it's really helped him understand what being in care is about.

Susangilley7 · 04/03/2017 12:46

Hetty Feather has to be a really good favourite. As a child I loved What Katy Did and so it is so great that my granddaughters can follow on with these books.

lucyrobinson · 05/03/2017 07:41

I didn't read her books. I loved Roald Dahl and Judy Blume. My daughter has only read Katy which we borrowed from the library. She loved it. She normally reads The Famous Five and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

castleton · 09/03/2017 14:25

I did not read Jacqueline Wilson as I grew up. My granddaughter and I love the Tracy Beaker books now

BookShop · 11/03/2017 09:41

We used our WBD voucher for Butterfly Beach. DD is obsessed with Jacqueline Wilson. Her current favourite is The Longest Whale Song, although she does flit to and from favourites.

I love how JW writes about grown up issues that children will be able to relate to. My DD has a girl in her class who has been adopted. They were able to discuss this openly because of Tracy Beaker. Personally I find the books really emotive and we often have deep discussions about relationships and appropriateness because of them. One book that stood out for me was Lily Alone. Very real subject that opened my DDs eyes. Having worked with children like Lily it made me cry, especially the part when she thought her younger brother was missing and she was responsible.

If your DCs like her writing I thoroughly recommend her magazine. It is filled with games, writing extras and lots of cool JW facts.

Keep up the fabulous work JW! You are a favourite in our house.

claza93 · 11/03/2017 14:06

I didn't read these growing up but my nine year old loves them! My Daisy's favourite is Little Darling (at the mo) - she even dressed up as JW character on World Book Day!

donnazz · 12/03/2017 19:14

im to old to have read them but my daughters loves Hetty Feather

sarahw2 · 13/03/2017 13:32
