In Butterfly Beach, Jacqueline Wilson's £1 World Book Day book, we once again meet the unlikely best friends from The Butterfly Club. To celebrate its publication on 2 March, we're asking you to tell us your favourite Jacqueline Wilson books.

Selma can't wait to go on holiday with her best friend forever, Tina. But a holiday with Tina means a holiday with her triplet sisters, too - and it's not long before Selma feels like the odd one out. Can their shared love of butterflies bring Selma and Tina together again?

Did you know that Jacqueline has also recently turned her hand to writing historical books, including Hetty Feather, Clover Moon and modern-day retellings of classic stories including Katy (based on What Katy Did) and Four Children and It (based on Five Children and It). And we're giving you the chance to read (or re-read!) some of these titles, and more. All you need to do is tell us...

Did you have a favourite Jacqueline Wilson book growing up? Do your DCs have different favourites today? Let us know to win a whole library of Jacqueline Wilson books, worth £100.

Butterfly Beach is just £1 or FREE with your child's World Book Day token.

This discussion is sponsored by Penguin Random House and ends on 16 March

Never read her books growing up - probably showing my age. My daughter will soon be 8 and is loving reading her first Jaqueline Wilson book: The Butterfly Club.

BillyButtfuck · 20/02/2017 21:27

I have recently got all of my old JC books from my dads house to start reading to my Dtwins, I love love love them. Such fond memories and cannot wait to share them with my children, Illustrated mum was the boss!

kateandme · 20/02/2017 21:45

the illustrated mum for me,golly that hit me.it was an emotional read even at that age!

Radley1 · 20/02/2017 21:54

My favourite was The Dustbin Baby which my daughter loves too

hayleywalden560 · 20/02/2017 21:58

Tracey Beaker was a firm favourite. Then I moved on to Girls in Love & the sequels which were fantastic! So hard to choose. The illustrated Mum too, amongst others! Having been reading various of them Ronny eldest more recently, I picked up Lola Rose which I'd nit read before and so many of the storylines really hit home, even now at 28! I then read it to my eldest too & she thoroughly enjoyed it also. Jaqueline Wilsons books have the ability to span generations and we love them all.

I didn't read JW as a child (too old!) but my DD has recently read The Lottie Project and she loved the Bed and Breakfast Star!

AngieFoster · 20/02/2017 22:21

The bed and breakfast star. I remember it was one of the first books that got me feeling emotional, was definitely a page turner & the start of loving books!

Reebs123 · 20/02/2017 22:31

It's got to be Tracy Beaker. She did always make me feel sad though as she was in a care home. Daughter likes her too.

midi1975 · 20/02/2017 22:33

Oh! how can we chose a favourite. We are still enjoying The Butterfly Club, but have loved many titles over the years.
Keep writing Jackie.

How could we choose one! Dd has been reading Jacqueline Wilson's books for a few years now and is always hungry for the next release.

She loved Hetty Feather and Tracy Beaker. She also loves the story of Gemma and Alice in Best Friends, partly because she is a Gemma herself!

Please write many more books!

sweir1 · 20/02/2017 22:56

my favourite was The Bed and Breakfast Star.

smithsurvey14 · 20/02/2017 23:39

I am too old to have read any Jacqueline Wilson books growing up but I remember reading Werepuppy to my daughter when she was younger.

ExhaustedPigeon · 20/02/2017 23:42

I am too old to have read her books when I was young but when I was put in charge of the school library I read a few as the children loved them so much and I wanted to see what they were like. I was really impressed with how she deals with issues sensitively - lots of which we have kids dealing with in RL. Personally I enjoyed Lola Rose although it was sad. I'm looking forward to introducing my daughter to JW so I can read some more too!

Jacqueline Wilson has written many really good books. My favourite one is probably 'The Story of Tracey Beaker'. It is without doubt an imaginative and ultra-cool read for young readers of both gender, illustrating the harsh realities of children facing modern-day care, but in an engaging, funny, non-patronising kind of way. So popular, it was even adapted into an equally good television series!

I'm too old to have read any of her books as a child but I trained as a children's librarian and think her books are brilliant. During the course we had a great excuse to read books aimed at children and I discovered the wonderful Tracy Beaker. A heroine for our times!

Butteredpars1ps · 21/02/2017 07:49

Sadly I'm too old to have read any Jacqueline Wilson when I was a child. An avid reader though, I really wish she had been around in the 70s.

I enjoyed Tracy Beaker, sleepovers and how to survive summer camp with DD1 and am we bought DD 2 Hetty Feather at the weekend. I'm looking forward to borrowing it too. Grin

I didn't know about her re working of what Katy did and 4/5 children and it until I opened this thread, but I can imagine her versions will be sprinkled with humour and new twists - has anyone read them? I bet they're good.

2014newme · 21/02/2017 09:17

Yes we've read them, they are good.
She,was writing in the 70s.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 21/02/2017 13:11

I'm too old to have read any of her books growing up, but I've just started reading Katy with DD1 and we are both really enjoying it. We are looking forward to exploring the rest of her books.

SoniaLeroux21 · 21/02/2017 13:17

My daughter loves Jacqueline Wilson she read all of her books, we especially enjoy reading Double Act together.

jammy388 · 21/02/2017 14:55

Hetty Feather and Tracey Beaker

MrFMercury · 21/02/2017 15:20

I wasn't aware of any of the books as a child but my eldest daughter (11) has loved all the books and the magazine for years. She's dyslexic and its helped boost her confidence as she felt very self conscious when she was first diagnosed so the occasional bits about dyslexia in the magazine feels very supportive to her.
She tells me her favourite book is Clover Moon despite it being very sad.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 21/02/2017 16:47

I missed out on these books when I was little but look forward to my bookworm DD getting into them!
I hear the Tracey Beaker ones are a big hit!

user1484206323 · 21/02/2017 17:07
