I like the idea of having a name for my childminding business but am a bit stuck as to what it should be.

Anyone got any ideas to start me off?

My real name is Rebecca - may help!?

Rebecca's rascals

beckys babies

KatyMac · 12/06/2005 20:56

Do you have any ideas about a logo?
That might make the name easier

KatyMac · 12/06/2005 20:56

What are you fav colours?

peckarollover · 12/06/2005 20:59

Thanks for the input but Id rather it be a positive word. Im a bit funny about names like rascals - it makes me think of labels like naughty etc

Hope that doesnt make me sound like an arse!

Erm havent really thought about a logo yet. I love the way that you have used the walnut tree across your corporate ID but I dont have anything as symbolic as that really. Although we do live very near the airport and also 2 nature reserves. One called Havannah and one called Big Waters.

Favourite colour is PINK!

KatyMac · 12/06/2005 21:02

What is pink or could be pink (not a doll)

A pig, a stick of stripy candy, an elephant, pink panther (copyright?) candy floss, flowers, a rattle

KatyMac · 12/06/2005 21:04

Does you house have a name
What are your children called or the local school or the area

Savannah or Big Water could be used - but not with pink

Not the airport - I don't think it's appropriate

vickiyumyum · 12/06/2005 21:04

Pink Havannah Waters!
umm never been any good at making up names.
(my user name is because my name is victoria and i was eating a yumyum!!)

vickiyumyum · 12/06/2005 21:05

little pigs and flowers would make a good logo. perhaps thats were the pink could come in rather than in the name.

KatyMac · 12/06/2005 21:06

Isn't there a song Blue Savannah falls (or something)?

peckarollover · 12/06/2005 21:06

Havannah is out for a daft reason.

I am not really close to Big Waters anymore either hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

jollymum · 12/06/2005 21:27

Rebeccas Reasons...the logo could be pink RR with flowers intertwined and then your statement could be reasons why children should be there. ie: calm environment, happy etc etc....It could be Reasons for short...HTH

KatyMac · 12/06/2005 21:28

Oh Jollymum - that's lovely even if Becca doesn't use it you should be proud - do you do this for a living? you are good

peckarollover · 12/06/2005 21:59

Jolly Mum that is a lovely idea I will definitely bear that one in mind.

"right, you are extremely patient you allow your children to do and think for themselves, by sitting back and encouraging them. you give them the every day skills to better themselves at there own pace. i would say your dd is extremely confident and well behaved not to mention too intelligent for my likeing(she spells better than me and corrects me!). i think you have given them the knowledge to know what they can and cant do whilst still allowing them to be children.
you are a extremely fun loving person with a lot of positive energy and i do feel this rubs off on people when ever you are around. Even when you have been knocked down you get back up stronger then ever and always make a positive out of a situation. i think you are so natural with children and this is most defiantly the right type of job for you!

On the down side i would say you always strive to be orginised but never quite make it! ie you thought it would be a good idea to buy a basket for the bottom of the stairs so things that belonged up stairs could go in it then all you would have to do pick the basket up and put the things in there rightful place, you were organised enough to buy the basket, but just kept forgetting to take it upstairs! he he he but i suppose with numerous kids in tow you would have to be organised! i don't think it would take much just some extra thought.

All in all i think there is nothing more that would suit you more than a job like this, and i would gladly hand over my dd to you with pure and utter confidence that she would be well looked after her individual needs nurtured, she would be loved and her little opinions would be respected. You don't mind bouncing about the house on your hands and knees singing crazy songs if the kids are laughing, you can connect with children on there wave length and have a heart of gold. i have never met such a selfless person before and this is reflected in your parenting and friendships. You can get on with a vast array of people from the likes of me(common geordie lass!) to you work colleagues('puter boffins) and top notch barristers!
go for it girl!
"

This is a testamonial off a friend I got when I asked her opinion on whether she thought I should go for the childminding.

Is there anything in there that gives you a better idea of me and what could be good?

Lovely Becca - but it doesn't help me at all {sad] - sorry

peckarollover · 12/06/2005 22:24

lol thanks Katy. Reading it again, not sure why it would help. Just chuffed at how nice it is bless her!

OP posts:
KatyMac · 12/06/2005 22:27

Don't go too girly with the logo - you want boys too....
Becca's bunch (like Brady Bunch)
Becca's brats (sorry)

peckarollover · 12/06/2005 22:29

Im not sure I like the use of becca.

I like the idea of one word

NURTURE

Also quite like

Happy Days

I like the tag line

"You work whilst we play" but dont know if that is condescending

OP posts:
KatyMac · 12/06/2005 22:32

I don't think its condesending - but I will make parents jealous

Nurture is very new age? maybe? not very down to earth or practical
