Right, as mentioned in the staffroom, there is definitely something in the water!! Due to there being a few of us now, I thought we should have a thread to keep tabs on when everyone is due etc.

I'll put the info I know so far, come and add yourself/your details or even better, copy and paste this list and update accordingly

Crace - C-section booked for ??? May
Looneytune - EDD 23rd June (BOY)
eleanorsmum - EDD ????
MamaG - EDD ???

I know there are others but I just can't remember now (don't you just love the pregnancy brain!). Tori has her baby last night and I think another had theirs recently too but still thought there were more pregnant C/Ms????

SB! Well, we want to know either way!

OFSTEDoutstanding · 19/04/2008 21:17

Hi all just wanted to share I went and had a gender scan today with babybond because my baby wouldn't show me what they were at my 20 week scan and wanted to prepare ds for a brother or sister anyway I am having a girl am so excited!
Hope you are all doing ok and feeling a bit better. My back is absolutely killing me and am only 21 weeks it doesn't help that the 20 mth old I mind is a bit backwrads in his development and can't walk very well so end up carrying him more than I maybe should. Mind you he is not very heavy so shouldn't really complain.

SimpleAsABC · 19/04/2008 22:00

Catching up on some threads b4 I start studying this week ( My best friend and my bf's sister were both pregnant for what made up the whole of 2007, missing the baby chat (but enjoying the cuties) so thought I'd wish you all well!

xx

crace · 20/04/2008 07:21

Hi there OO! Congrats on the baby girl! Soooo much different from having a boy - my little princess rules the roost!

Not much happening with me, 34 weeks and 2 days now with 4 weeks and 5 days until c/s and two more working weeks. I was having very painful braxton hicks contrax last night so I have a "feeling" the baby might come before the eviction date. It's baby 3 so not sure if it will or not but I really don't want it to come early Packing this weekend in case..

Hi there ABC!

southernbelle77 · 20/04/2008 07:32

I couldn't wait!

crace · 20/04/2008 10:59

I TAKE IT'S GOOD NEWS!?!?!?

southernbelle77 · 20/04/2008 11:45

Ummm, that would be a yes then!!

Of course, still a bit cautious, but not going to let it worry me too much. Going to doctors next week anyway, so will tell them and get a midwife appointment booked.

Still have a few tests so no doubt I'll keep doing them occasionally just to make sure!

EDD from my dates is 26th December - not very good timing but who cares!

crace · 20/04/2008 13:07

Hooray!!!! WELL DONE!!

hennipenni · 20/04/2008 17:41

Congrats SB, My DDs EDD was new years eve but she mananged to arrive 15 days early!

MaureenMLove · 20/04/2008 18:44

Hey, hey! Well done SB. You'll be fine this time. Your body had remembered what its supposed to be doing now, so it'll be plain sailing! Congratulations!

southernbelle77 · 21/04/2008 07:07

Thanks guys! I'm very excited, although not really showing it too much as I know dh is a bit worried too. But when we are a few more weeks I think the worry will stop so much!
And the nausea certainly hit me last night and this morning which I'm hoping is a good sign of all the hormones doing as they should be!

Had anyone else had really awful skin when pregnant? Mine has come out in awful blotches and on my neck it's kindy of blotchy spots (without heads, sorry tmi!!) and they hurt. Hoping the doctor will be able to give me something for it as it looks and feels horrible!!

MaureenMLove · 21/04/2008 07:51

My skin was dreadful on my face. I thiks its called something like Rosea. Someone else will know! I had it the whole way through and then it just went again.

crace · 21/04/2008 09:14

Yup, I broke out like a teenager. Hair greasy and all sorts - just had to keep my face and hair clean but it went away after first trimester. (all good signs my dear though!)

Copied from Staff Room:

And I am getting pretty immobile myself so I think I will be struggling a bit. Darn backache and SPD. Had some contractions yesterday (only 34+2!) so ended up briefly in antenatal ward for obs and they think I've got an infection of some sort - my heartbeat was high so got some anti-b's for it. On the plus side a whole 40 mins of listening to bubs, and watching my contractions. They've gone away, but I've been told to take it "easy". PMSL - Yeah, umm.. I am sure I will manage that. NOT!

PS - LT, what is your ds2 heartbeat like in tummy? Just wondering as my dd was high like the old wives tale, and this one was 120-140 yesterday!

southernbelle77 · 21/04/2008 16:35

Booked doctors for Thursday aft when got no kids! Not the doctor I wanted to see, but it's a miracle I actually got an appointment when I requested one at our surgery let alone with a specific doctor so it's better than nothing!

Neck is really really hurting me today. Its just so sore. mil mentioned the rash as it looks so red and aggressive! Just had to say I didn't know what it was as no one knows our news yet! Hopefully the docs can do something! I also want to ask if they are able to do a blood test to see if my levels are going up as they should be. Read online that its best to do that so hope he doesn't think I'm being silly (which I probably am but can't help worrying a little!)

Crace - dd's heartbeat was always really high like the old wives tale and my midwife said it was a good indication, although not always the case, of course!!

looneytune · 22/04/2008 10:17

SBelle - that is FANTASTIC news Many Congrats!! Will keep everything crossed for you!!

crace - sorry for delay, not been around as much recently (not been coping too well and been feeling poorly and tend not to 'chat' so much when like that). I never had ds's heartrate monitored until I was in labour as he was fine. As for this little one (been told a boy), it ranged from 120-160 but more on the lower side of that iyswim. How high is 'high' then for dd? All I know is that when I told tiny baby mindee's mum the range, she said it was about the same as she had yet she had a little girl. I'd say it's best not to presume based on heartrate tbh but I'm no expert

Ofsted - congrats on the girl

Sorry if missed anyone.

LT - you are telling me. It's getting sh&te isn't it? I swear after 30 weeks things have been going down hill. Fast. We are doing all of our activities sitting down, or they are running around outside (safe!) while I am sitting. I have started to get bad swelling in fingers and feet/ankles which worries me. I swear if I hadn't been paid to the end of next week I'd give up now.

looneytune · 22/04/2008 10:36

crace - yes it is shite and I'm saying that after 2 weeks of not so much rushing around. Ds and mindee went back to school today so I'm back to the mad rushing around and I'm not happy about it I'm also furious with Drs/hospital for messing up and causing my infection to get this bad before I got anti-biotics. Turns out this all started over a month ago, no wonder I could hardly move in the end!!! They honestly make me wonder why the hell we bother with them!!

Yes, watch the swelling. I've had it in my ankles and a little up to my knees for about a month or so with it starting to get to my fingers and face now. Protein in urine will have been from UTI and BP is still fine so I'm ok but you do need to keep an eye out for these things.

Is next week your last week? If not been paid for next week, could you tell parents you need to finish a week early?

OP posts:
crace · 22/04/2008 10:41

I am on anti-b's for UTI myself. BP is ok, heartrate is high - 100-120 (ME that is) while I was in hospital on Sunday and had protein from UTI in urine. Joys joys. I don't see my m/w until next week but will have her check it for me. But by then I will only have one more day of work!

Hey - "good" news though, baby has gone all wonky and is transverse! Necessary c-section! Everyone keeps looking at me weird when I mention it, was going to have one anyway but no one understands.. I DON'T WANT A C/S!! I feel better that I HAVE to. IYSWIM..?

looneytune · 22/04/2008 11:02

crace - hope yours clears up soon too then. I was furious because I was in hospital being checked on 15th March and was told I had + protein so were sending off to lab. Results came back 'inconclusive, retest if symptomatic' so every sample has gone off again yet in all this time, I still wasn't told I had a UTI, just Drs looking blank and saying 'oh, we'll retest then'. I told a crappy Dr on 18th March that I had pain in my left side and thought I had a UTI and she said no, clear sample this time. Well, turns out something was definitely brewing and she was just lucky to have a clear sample. So it wasn't until I went in on Friday for monitoring (after having heavy period type pains and awful lower backache) that I did another sample which definitely showed a UTI (although I didn't get this confirmed until I rang Drs on Monday almost in tears!!). I spent Sunday night going to the toilet every hour and half on the dot, sometimes bursting yet nothing really coming out! GRRRRR Sorry, I'm just so pi*sed off with them!

Hope everything stays ok with the bp etc.

As for transverse, pleased you're pleased But it does make me wonder what that means as surely they are still moving around at this stage? I'm 31+1 and baby is quite often transverse at night (you can tell can't you ) but then changes other times, presuming still breach as still feels like head under my right rib. I keep hoping he'll flip by the time I'm due and have his head down like I want him to but should I be worried this won't happen?

Right, must go as baby up now so need to make a dash for the end of drop in.

LT x

OP posts:
crace · 22/04/2008 11:08

Yes, plenty of time to move. Mine is quite under my rib too, it's transverse with either bum in ribs (could be what you are feeling) or flips over and I get pummeled by hands and feet.

I think I just have a roomy uterus! har

Shame on them, LT that is APPALLING care.

looneytune · 22/04/2008 12:04

Back from drop in.

I'd much prefer bum under rib but they said it was head on last visit and the movements I've felt have suggested to me it's still head HOWEVER I'll be very happy on Friday if I'm told he's turns round! Desperate for my home birth.....as if I haven't made that clear a million times before

I know, it IS appauling care isn't it!! I'm not happy to be in so much pain but also not happy to know that they could have damaged my kidneys and even possibly caused prem labour if was left much longer (from what I've read). There really was no need for it and I mainly blame stupid GP who I had instead of my norm a month ago!

libbysmummy · 22/04/2008 13:30

Hi all

Well I had my last consultant appointment today. They are happy that I have no repeat of the placenta praevia this time around and so I am on for my VBAC - should be thrilled but now I'm bricking it!

It doesn't help that DH wants me to have another c-sec because he doesn't want to have the stress of going through labour - yes he REALLY said that - and he thought the c-sec with DD was easy!!!!

Anyway, enough of mad husbands with a death wish, we also had a listen to the heartbeat and I was measured (monster is measuring 31cms - I am 28+3 today!)

crace · 22/04/2008 13:41

Good for you, I longed for a homebirth too (vbac no less) and sadly didn't work out but I am ok with it. I have a friend in the local M&T group who just had a hbac 4 weeks ago. Am mucho jealous, but thrilled for her!

Hi LM! Glad you are "GO" for a vbac, but pmsl at your dh. Men, they do say some silly things. My dh is the opposite actually - he wanted me to attempt a vba2c. It's not recommended (at all!) and I just think he's on another planet. Men, I swear all they have to do is turn up on the day!

looneytune · 23/04/2008 10:43

LM - Good news But at what your dh said! Men eh!!

crace - sorry you were disappointed in not getting a homebirth but if they recommend c/s if already had more than 1 then I can see why you'd go for that.

I've got GP check on Friday and keeping everything crossed that bubba has turned. Ds is obsessed with talking to the bottom of my bump hoping that bubba will turn to try and hear him better

No, a HB was not on the cards this time, it was with dd I meant. Straight to elective, it's my third joy of joys

Ok, when I said I wanted a medically necessary section I didn't mean that I wanted to sacrifice sleep to get it! Because of the baby being side to side whatever side I want to lay on the head or the other side the feet. The baby thrashes around in protest as a result. I tried my back but I can't because of heartburn and sitting on my bladder. I can't fricking win! As a result.. no sleep. These 4 weeks will be the longest ever.
