13 weeks yesterday. Scan date 27/07, rang for forms 19/06. The wait is so long and last time I called they couldn’t tell me if they had even received my extra info (Autism report) son was diagnosed 2nd October… and so I know I have to call again to check that. I don’t have the mental space to be on hold forever or even speak to them again. I got a txt on 02/10 and again on 23/10, both just saying ‘we are still looking at your DLA claim’. Do those txts just get sent out automatically at random times or was it on 10 and 13 weeks for a reason? Maybe they send txts every 2 weeks generically after the 10 week wait? Does anybody know? I have 2 weeks to wait according the letter I got which said 15 weeks however the last man I spoke to at the DWP said it would be December before I get a decision. They keep moving the goalposts daily by the sounds of it.

Hey lovely, there's another thread now, the link is on this page. I'm not sure how the texts work, I have had 2. There seemed to be a link between the 2 texts and getting awarded 5 weeks after the second but just lately that hasn't been happening. Some people have had text and others havnt. I called Thursday at 16 weeks and was told between 18-19 weeks for a decision. It's so stressful isn't it, join the new thread there's lots of lovely people on there with lots of advice xx

Also if you can call at 9am in the morning the wait times don't seem as long, I waited around 15 minutes. Sent extra evidence on Monday special delivery and it had been scanned when I called Thursday xx

Farmerma · 27/10/2023 22:38

Lots of people have mentioned this but it would appear that decisions get made 5 wks after 2nd text as I found this to be correct.

I've got the same scan date as you and recieved the texts at the same time. Going off other people it seems to be about 5 weeks after the second text that people get a decision.

@Asdmummyhere Thankyou so much for your reply. That’s really helpful to know. 😊 I will join the new thread as it’s been such a god send for me being able to read everyone’s advice and experience during this long wait. I will call on Monday or Tuesday at 9am and see if I can get straight through too 🙏🏻 I sent my extra info to the free post address and now I’m regretting it. I rang the week after and systems were down but he couldn’t see it yet on what info he had. I think I should have sent it special delivery like you now. Beginners mistake really. I really hope you hear very soon. 19 weeks is such a long time to wait isn’t it. Good luck xx
@Farmerma Thankyou. I hope the 5 week rule does apply, but maybe as @Asdmummyhere says it should be the case but isn’t always atm. Could be the backlog problem. I will update and let everyone know when I get a decision either way. x
@Vikz37 Eventually a scan date buddy! 😊 Hopefully it won’t be much longer for us! Interesting you got the txts too on same dates x

Lauren2121 · 29/10/2023 13:57

Hi all, I sent the forms off 4th august, the last text I got was saying “we’re still looking at your dla forms, when a decision is made we will confirm it in writing” I still haven’t heard anything, wondered if anyone sent there forms a similar date, if anyone had heard anything?

Mummyrach13 · 29/10/2023 23:31

There’s a new thread @Lauren2121 the link is below as this one is almost full now. Post over there and you will find some ladies with similar dates 😊 x

Thankyou very much just seen it, Thankyou for letting me know x

Kellylillybelly8 · 15/11/2023 09:18

They received my form 7th August and I have had 2 letters and 2 text last text was 31 October nothing since then just waiting as everything call they it's different wait times I get told

MandM123 · 16/11/2023 12:37

Well our wait is over 21 weeks tomorrow. Called today, they answered after 1.5hours and said it was declined yesterday.
I was told children under 5 need lots of care anyway and that they only award higher care for under 5’s. Is this true? Will wait for the statement of reasons. I was hoping for lower or middle rate care.
Its been a bad experience :(

Asdmummyhere · 16/11/2023 13:18

@MandM123 so sorry it was declined after all that time. It's absolutely not correct at all. Honestly don't know why they say these things. Children under 5 can be awarded any rate it's all to do with how much extra care they need compared to a child of the same age. I would do a MR, send any extra evidence you can and bullet point the reasons you disagree to their reasons for declining. It will be seen by a different DM. Good luck x

Star2386 · 16/11/2023 17:07

They done this to my boy who’s not 3 yet said he don’t need more care than a child of his age he’s certified sight impaired I waited for 19 weeks to be told declined I was not leaving it there on 24th October I put in for mr over the phone I wrote a 6 page statement of my reasons I disagree and the care needs my son has it took 3 weeks to get new decision which was over turned and awarded middle rate so fight for what your child is intitled to I am so glad didn’t have to go through apeal too good luck

Loui5 · 16/11/2023 17:20

Scan date 14/7 finally the wait is over Hrc Lrm awarded till 2025 i can now get all the help my child needs and deserves. Thankyou everyone for all your posts they have helped me so much. Congratulations to everyone awarded today and the best of luck to everyone of you waiting still xx
