23/6…

Billie1993 · 26/10/2023 19:55

Hello all :)

scan date of 12/7 so would be 15 weeks and 1 day today. For my 7 year old daughter.

I sent off extra evidence today but missed the cut off for it to be sent today and for them to receive it tomorrow so now they won’t receive it till Monday now hopefully, but I forgot to put her name & date of birth on the envelope I put her reference number on the envelope, but I put her name, date of birth and reference number on all of the pieces of paper though.

when I sent her forms I only sent them, the schools mental health team wrote the other bit. So today I sent

• 7 day sleep diary
• 7 day food diary
• assessment letter from the The Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders stating ASD/ARFID
• another letter from The Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders stating she’s on liquid melatonin for her sleep
• conners 3 assessment I did with CHAMS stating ADHD

is this enough I’m still awaiting the discharge letter from CHAMS stating she has ASD/SPD/ADHD.

as it gets closer I’m getting more nervous and worrying even more now. I have recently been diagnosed with FND (functional neurological disorder) myself it started so suddenly in august, with all this not knowing is sending me over the edge. I’m not sleeping much myself worrying and with my little one not sleeping much either,

Hi could I ask does anyone know what days decisions is made is it all week? Do they make decisions on weekend or? Just wondering if they’ll ever catch up with backlog x

Emsychap · 26/10/2023 20:25

@Rebeccanew seems to be all week

Mummyrach13 · 26/10/2023 20:38

I feel the same as you @Billie1993 im worrying I’ve not sent enough.

My boy is older at 12, a lot of his is mental health and severe anxiety.
He is suspected ASD( awaiting assessment)
He’s diagnosed ARFID, OCD, social anxiety and sleep disorder.
Hes housebound and isn’t able to do anything for himself in the sense of personal care or eating etc!
He doesn’t sleep a couple hours a night max and never can be alone.

We’ve only recently been helped by professionals so I Sent in a sleep diary, proof of sleep meds, a list of professionals working with us, CAMHS plan of action, medication of food supplements for restricted eating and 2 CAMHS psychiatrist reports.
We have nothing from school as he is now home educated due to all of this.
hes nearly 13 but more the age of 5/6 year old.

just hoping I’ve done enough! I’m sure everything you have will be beneficial for you and your girl 🤞 is anyone else claiming for similar? X

Congratulations to those who have been awarded 😁

Just checking in to say I rang yesterday (Scan date 12th July) to see what they said and after nearly 2 hours on hold the lady told me it would most likely go to DM around 8th - 15th November and hopefully they will have reached a decision by the end of November. The end of November will be 20 weeks for us so I’m hoping it’ll be done before then 🥴 Getting there slowly anyway.

Oh my days!!! So happy for my son, scan date 23rd June…18 weeks today, phoned up bang on 9am lady told me Low rate mobility & High rate care…back pay already in the bank!!

Little bit of my son’s background:

My son, diagnosed aged 4 as autistic (age 7 now) being assessed for ADHD as showing extreme signs of that, started at a special needs school in September. He has major meltdowns through the days, runs around car parks & into the paths of oncoming cars…has even opened car doors with people sitting in them to ask if he can lock their cars for them, has absolutely no sense of danger & will go up & talk to absolutely anyone (he’s obsessed with car parking spaces & car parking tickets…even asks strangers for them!!) I’ve got 4 bolts on my front door to stop him running out 😩 he leaps off my sofa & climbs everything in sight, if he doesn’t get his own way he’ll bite, kick, spit, scream…you name it!! He’s still in pull up pants at nighttime & I’m up with him 3/4 times a night changing bedding nightly & giving him his dummy/blankies that he can’t find. I still have to dress him, brush his teeth (total nightmare that is) help feed him & watch his every move to keep him safe.

This money is an absolute blessing for him, I’m so grateful he’s understood & supported from the DLA team, this has been a really long journey & incredibly tough…but my son & I are riding it out together.

Wishing everyone lots of luck with their little & big ones claims, don’t give up…you WILL get there for your child ❤️

Mummyrach13 · 27/10/2023 12:15

Congrats on your awards ladies! So happy for you and your children 🎉 x

Mummytodo · 27/10/2023 12:48

Off topic but how do you manage with child care during half term? I cannot find any that can meet my daughter's needs and also reluctant to put her in some places as she is nonverbal and in the past has been hurt and apparently no one knows what's happened

I have no family or friend support do people take parental leave?

Farmerma · 27/10/2023 15:28

Hi, my scan date was 21/6 backpay received to 15/05. No letter or text as yet. 18wks. Good Luck 🤞

Jude82 · 27/10/2023 15:50

13 weeks yesterday. Scan date 27/07, rang for forms 19/06. The wait is so long and last time I called they couldn’t tell me if they had even received my extra info (Autism report) son was diagnosed 2nd October… and so I know I have to call again to check that. I don’t have the mental space to be on hold forever or even speak to them again. I got a txt on 02/10 and again on 23/10, both just saying ‘we are still looking at your DLA claim’. Do those txts just get sent out automatically at random times or was it on 10 and 13 weeks for a reason? Maybe they send txts every 2 weeks generically after the 10 week wait? Does anybody know? I have 2 weeks to wait according the letter I got which said 15 weeks however the last man I spoke to at the DWP said it would be December before I get a decision. They keep moving the goalposts daily by the sounds of it.
