Hope you don't mind me asking this...as I'm sure it has already been asked a few times....

Does anyone know what the wait time is for renewals please?

@PinkMoscatoLover hi don’t mean to be nosy one of my twins has recently been diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder too! Was just wondering what your little one has if you don’t mind sharing x

Of course, no problem! He has a rare genetic disorder called DYRK1A (pronounced Dirk-1A) currently 600-800 people in the world have been diagnosed with it. It’s a neurological, developmental disorder but brings about a lot of issues such as hypertonia, epilepsy, microcephaly, autism and so many other things. The list just goes on really! He’s now 18 months and is doing really well despite all of his issues.

What was one of the twins diagnosed with?

He has neuro team for his hydrocephalus and chairi 2 malformation (so brain changes with it being pulled down his spine) he has a urology team as he cannot empty his bladder on his own so had to be cayheterised every 3 hours, he has peadiatricians, physio every 4 weeks as he is so far behind on everything! he has hypotonia so all 4 limbs are weaker! (Although this report for hypotonia came in from the paediatrician came in after I sent the dla forms off). He is on all kinds of medicines daily so just hoping I have written and sent off enough proof! 🙏 this is honestly causing so much stress i don't know if I'd have applied if I knew 😪😅 xx

I also received my 2nd text today. Scan date 25/7 too. Seems so close yet so far away now!

@Shilli84 it's awful ain't it. The thought of having to wait another 5 weeks!! 😭. I'm hoping they don't have as many in July and get through them quicker but I feel that's just wishful thinking.

I’m nervous lol…exactly 5 weeks today since my second text! Scan date 23rd June, think I’ll be checking the phone all day 🤞

Long time lurker here!

Scan date 21/06

rang yesterday not with DM called this morning got straight through and son awarded LRM MRC for 3 years

LO is 4 nearly 5 no diagnosis but speech delay and working with SEN at school and has a speech and language therapist. Sent in evidence of all the appointments we send in and a few bits from the speech and language therapist but that’s it.

such a relief we can get some private therapy now and maybe a diagnosis to support him better in school. This thread was a life life to me over the past 18 weeks so thank you and good luck everyone x

Just called got straight through! They said that they are working between 18 and 19 weeks now and with my scan date it should be with a DM by the second week of November (30/06) but that could also change as it could go today or it could be longer.

I called again…still not with DM and was advised claims are now taking at least 19 weeks to reach DM. Good luck to eveyone waiting on decisions this week 🤞🏽

I am same scan date and same txt date as you my nerves are gone tooo. I rang up yesterday an mine is not with dm yet the lady said it will be around the end of the month 🤞🤞

Hi everyone. My scan date is 20/06 it went to dm on Thursday & it’s 5 weeks today since my last text…. I wanna ring, but I don’t 🤣 do I just wait? X

Scan date 06/07 called in to check documents were received and was told it should be mid November that I hear back.

Hi could k ask is it true that you get your answer 5 weeks from the second text?? My scan date is 9th July I received my second text on 9/10/23?

Scan date 29/06 I’ll be sending additional documents today for next day delivery && calling next week Thursday for an update as that will make me 18 weeks exactly ! Hope everyone’s coping well and big congratulations to those awarded today ! ❤️
