Sorry jumping into your conversation, can you claim carers element on UC even if you haven’t applied for carers allowance?

Yea @Mummyof5kiddos, as long as your child gets MRC or HRC, it’s not payable for LRC x

Yep exactly as Liz has said. I claim carers element but not carers allowance as I earn over the threshold. You can also claim the disabled child element even if your child gets LRC

Funds were released to me on Tuesday and it’s showing pending to go into my bank tomorrow. 3-5 working days I think xx

Hi everyone im new to this thread scan date 8/6 rang couple of days ago said it should be looked at by the end of next week... Good luck 👍

Joining the thread as I've been keeping a close eye on it for some time now. I phoned up for application forms for my 10 year old son and 3 and a half year old daughter back in May.

Scan date 16/06 for 10yo

Son has Severe Combined-Type ADHD, ASD and Sleep Initiation Disorder. He's medicated for his ADHD. He also has an EHCP with Band 3 funding.

Scan date 27/06 for 3 and a half yo - Took a bit longer to gather evidence

Daughter has Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele (no sensation below knees), Hydrocephalus, Hip Dysplasia and Talipes

Sent in a truck ton of evidence for both - We're talking diagnosis letters, developmental reports, SALT reports, CAMHS, School/Preschool reports etc etc etc

Called on Monday (16th October) and was told my son's had been sent to the DM that day. Daughter's isn't quite there yet but should be sent to DM within the next few weeks.

Called again today re my son's, and was told he's now been allocated a National Insurance number (They had previously used a CL1 ref number for him due to me waiting to receive child benefit for him - We moved over from the Channel Islands back in May, hence why he didn't already have a NINO). The person I dealt with said this usually means it's a positive outcome on the application, and I should hear from the DM very soon.

Has anyone else had this before and been awarded soon after?

Morning everyone, is anyone calling today? I'm not sure wether to try calling again today to see if a decision was made yesterday or wether to wait until monday

I’m desperate to ring but the attitude of the woman on Monday when I called is putting me off a bit, they know when you call so I feel like if I call today & I get a not so nice person they’ll be saying I’m ringing too often & I don’t wanna jeopardise anything… I’m 20/06 so 17w 3 days now … x

@Lovely17 I know what you mean , I don't want to be annoying by keeping on ringing, but at the same time if they stuck to the timings they said and made more communication with where out claims were at we wouldn't have to keep calling I guess x

@Hannahlou94xx @Lovely17 if you call bang on 9am it won’t take long to get through. Or you could call this afternoon and then they would have had most of today to make a decision too. It might be a long weekend if you don’t, either way good luck xx

Had a missed call yesterday 0800 072 0161 tried to call back said it was dwp they said tried to call me and I was unavailable, will try again if they need to could this be dla?

I called yesterday been in a pile with decision maker since Tuesday. Scan date 16/6.
Not calling anymore will be what it will be now.. 🤞🏻

They are known to try again or you can call through and they will tell you what the call was about.

@Kelmum2three im also not calling no more my scan date Is 30/6 so expecting something in the next couple of weeks as you say what will be will be, I’ll only cal now I think when the money hits and I need to see rates just to notify uc about it. The calling makes it worse I think I’m going to try put it to the back of my mind 😬😳

Scan date 15/06
Has 2 texts and was awarded 5 weeks after first one.
Awarded Tuesday this week and back pay gone in this morning which is 17 weeks of MRC.

Hi first time posting scan date 21st June...called this morning for update and for 2 minutes I was listening to someone's tv 🙈 so she must have been working from home and not realised i was on the other end saying hello 🙈..she said they are currently up to the 20th June so will be going to the decision maker any day now...

Hi my scan date is 4th july I rang Monday to update that he's no longer at his other school and attends 2 different ones now. I wasn't sure if it was dla or not calling yesterday with it just sayin dwp x
