@MummyBrx
I wasn't told anything as I never phoned. I just got lucky that HSBC have the upcoming payments on the app and it was there for the next day. But that was a Wednesday.

Mummyrach13 · 19/10/2023 13:29

Hope it’s soon for you @MummytoSENfreya I don’t know how they do them by date if yours is 1/6 crazy you would think they could tell you it’s with a DM by now. X

It's so stressful as I'm seeing everyone that was after us getting there's back so it's just making us worried

Fluffybuns88 · 19/10/2023 16:33

Called up and got through after 1hr 40mins.

Scan date 20/06, was told a decision has been made today but needs to be approved before they can tell me the results 😭

They couldn't confirm whether it was successful or not as rates could change at approval.

Anyone got any ideas how long approval takes? 😂

Mummyrach13 · 19/10/2023 16:40

I’ve seen this @Fluffybuns88 apparently they have taken on extra staff due to the demand and once the new member of staff makes a decision someone needs to check over it. Seen this on a few posts.

i can imagine it’s frustrating @MummytoSENfreya but it’s not a decline it’s simply not been looked at yet, I think the majority of Dms are working the middle of June where some are a little ahead and some behind! Hope it’s soon for you. The wait is horrendous x

I managed to get home a little early today so called. 1hr 45 on hold. Decision made today.

Awarded MRC and LRM. I actually cried to the woman on the phone. Had to apologise for getting emotional!

So glad I called!

Scan date 16/06

Kyarcy1316 · 19/10/2023 18:11

I called Monday at 9am and was on hold 15 minutes, so probably best to try around that time. My scan date is the 30/6 and the person I spoke to said that they are updated on a Monday on the number of weeks wait and they were currently at 17.5 weeks wait, so anytime from now until the end of November for an answer he said. Wasn't with a dm Monday but obviously that could have changed since then.

Hey guys. Sorry kinda unrelated but I’ve been awarded and update my uc how long should I wait for a back pay of child element and carers? What’s the process! And I’ve still been reading good luck to everyone still waiting ❤️x

Oh gosh! I’ve never heard of this, sorry I’m no help. I would call back tomorrow and at least ask how long approval should take. How frustrating x

Can you apply for these if you don't already claim UC?

Boymum333 · 19/10/2023 18:23

I’m not sure but I already receive UC X

Crazywaitingtimes · 19/10/2023 18:41

Good evening first time posting but have been reading threads for weeks.

Scan date 20/6

Decided to cave in today and ring, on hold for 1hr 21 mins got to half past 5 then said this call cannot be connected now, such a ridiculous set up this is.
Nothing short of cruelty what these people are doing making us all wait so long.
None of us are making claims for the fun of it, so maybe they should bear this in mind when answering the calls rather than being inhumane, manners cost nothing.
If they want to avoid all the calls then they should communicate more, they are quick enough to send letters when they require something, boils my blood.

If we didn't call then we'd have a further 6 or so weeks on top of the 17/20 weeks to wait on a decision letter, rant over, good luck to you all who are still waiting.

CrazySars · 19/10/2023 18:58

Hi guys

I managed to call tax credits today
It was literally a 30 min wait only

The lady told me that i would be backdated for the disability element too

Does anyone know how much it is monthly ??

I was trying to work out how much it would roughly be ?!

Thanks guys

Congratulations to everyone else who got their good news today aswell
🥰

Crazywaitingtimes · 19/10/2023 19:33

You can only claim these if you're on uc, or intend to be in the future.

Rosey1992 · 19/10/2023 19:52

@CrazySars
Dont quote me but this is what I found online on the citizens advice, hope it helps 😊

This will be £3,905 a year extra, on top of the normal amount, or £5,480 if they get either:

  • the highest rate of the care component of DLA
  • the enhanced rate of the daily living component of PIP
PinkMoscatoLover · 19/10/2023 20:04

@Boymum333 have you requested they backpay the amount via your journal? As they won’t do it automatically. It depends how long the decision maker takes to authorise the payment. Some are done within a week or so and some peoples take months. I’d give it about a week and then ask for an update via your journal if you haven’t heard anything.

@Sunshineclouds11 you can only apply for those elements if you have a live UC claim. You can apply for UC if your child has been awarded DLA but they won’t backpay anything as you didn’t have a live claim at the time. These elements can be added onto your claim but can still get deducted due to your earnings each month

Boymum333 · 19/10/2023 20:09

Yes I’ve requested back pay for both child element and for the carers element, and I just filled out the carers allowance form as I didn’t realise it was separate. It’s so confusing honestly. I phone and they said my child element has been confirmed but no mention back pay now they are sorting out the carers element part they said. And they said if I’m entitled to back pay it would be done automatically but I still made a note of it too, just wondering roughly what everyone’s wait time is. And why on gods earth does it require a dm

Sunshineclouds11 · 19/10/2023 20:11

The DM has to authorise back payments and verify your child as the work coaches aren’t trained in doing it. Once it’s confirmed you’ll receive an attachment of a letter on your journal letting you know how much the backpay will be. It shouldn’t take too long to be authorised
