Good morning everyone,

Long time lurker & first time posting!

phoned up just after 9am, after just under an hour on hold. Thankfully got through to a very nice lady, my scan date is 23/6 my son’s claim isn’t with a DM yet but in a holding que (was in a holding que when I phoned up two weeks ago 🙈) lady told me that they are running until 18.5 weeks, but it can change weekly due to how long it takes them to get through the claims!!

The wait as many of you know is horrendous, my son has just turned 7, he’s quite severely autistic, being assessed for ADHD now also & started at a special needs school in September as he really struggled at his mainstream school. So worried he’ll be declined when the time comes 😢

Cocopops22 · 19/10/2023 10:46

@CrazySars congratulations and congrats to everybody else awarded Today giving me so much hope I am 23/06 not long now ❤️❤️

Clazamumof2girls · 19/10/2023 11:16

@MilaMom definitely send about the pathways he’s on for ASD and SPD. The DLA is for care needs not diagnosis specifically. So it’s about the extra care your child needs. Evidence could be any meetings you’ve had with school, referrals etc and also I provided a detailed diary of what daily routine is like referencing why we have to put certain measures in place due to the suspected ASD /SPD needs. For example how certain sensory experiences can cause distress, what happens when they are distressed… an example I provided is how my daughter reacts in a busy environment eg a supermarket. She can have a meltdown which may cause others harm or her self harm etc. good luck but I would definitely provide more and it’s not too late either with your scan dates. Mines the 29/06 and I sent off further evidence 2 weeks ago, rang last week and they’ve received them and the woman said I could still provide more as she has some upcoming meetings this week so I’m planning on posting through first class tracked so they get them in time xx

Boymummyof2 · 19/10/2023 11:21

Scan date 29/06 so hopefully a couple of weeks and we will hear 🤞

mummyto3littlebeautys · 19/10/2023 11:23

ive just got off the phone to dla I rang for an update on my boys renewal as currant award ends the 17th nov a decision was made on the 16th of Oct still for high rate care and low rate mobility for another 2 years. So just thought I would post if anyone is waiting on a renewal what ends around nov! Good luck to everyone waiting to hear x

Lollypops88 · 19/10/2023 11:28

Congrates and to any one else who got there awards today 🌈🌈🌈

zoeybrooks45 · 19/10/2023 11:41

@Muva306 pleass let me know how you get on. Has it been added to the next statement? I’m waiting for mines to come out next week. Seems there’s a lot chasing calling and updating journal to ensure they don’t forget about it. However, others mentioned on Facebook that once that give backdate letter on journal and tell you the sum. You recieve in 3/5 workings days and it’s not put into your statement. Can you imagine they will probrably deduct all of it haha 😂 x

Girlmum3110 · 19/10/2023 11:52

My scan date is the 22/6. Has anyone been awarded from around that date? Been tempted to phone but the hour on hold is putting me off 😂

MummyBrx · 19/10/2023 11:55

@Mumtotwoboys121 @BoyMumGirlMum2022 @Tiredmamma74

I was awarded Tuesday and the guy said my back pay it will go in Saturday?

I said oh payments go in on a Saturday and he said yes it'll be on Saturday but I thought they only did payments Mon-Fri

Hope it's in tomorrow as I'm thinking it might not go in until Monday otherwise

What did you get told? Xxx

MummytoSENfreya · 19/10/2023 13:02

Hey I’ve been watching this feed for a while,

scan date 01/06 haven’t received any letters or texts from dla, rang today was on hold 1hr and 10mins had a lovely man who told me our claim hasn’t been looked at yet we are now on week 20, so stressed about it, he could only tell me that it could be any day now

Muva306 · 19/10/2023 13:16

That’s a really good point @zoeybrooks45 do UC see dla and back pays as income and deduct from monthly award?

Tiredmamma74 · 19/10/2023 13:25

@Tiredmamma74 oh that’s good then!! Thanks for letting me know ☺️ xx

Mummyrach13 · 19/10/2023 13:29

Hope it’s soon for you @MummytoSENfreya I don’t know how they do them by date if yours is 1/6 crazy you would think they could tell you it’s with a DM by now. X

allofthelove · 19/10/2023 13:31

Called today , apparently my date is 22 June . Not with DM. And to call
Back in 3 weeks .

zoeybrooks45 · 19/10/2023 14:07

LizBennet · 19/10/2023 12:02

How long has it been since you did the change? Mines only been two days. By facebooks post is seems it varies some within two weeks some longer.someone on Facebook advised to do message to work coach and within a hour I received the backdated letter! I’m super shocked lol. Try it out and let me know how you get on

Muva306 · 19/10/2023 14:19
