Am waiting on coc to scan date 3 April hoping not much longer

Mumof2boys11 · 29/09/2023 17:43

Does anyone know if decision makers work the weekend? I'm 17 weeks today.I rang yesterday and they said its not with a DM yet!! I'm starting to feel really deflated and anxious about it.

SGN04 · 29/09/2023 18:08

Hi all My sons scan date was 29/06 and I’m 13 weeks 1 today, I called today for an update and she said to me it will be going to a DM in 4 weeks ! So on average majority are still 17-18 weeks , sending off some additional information tomorrow that’s very beneficial, hoping everyone’s coping well, it is an awfully long wait to not even know if it’s going to be awarded or not .. keep hope ladies ❤️

Hi All

Been 3 years since I've followed a thread similar to this; so, I apologise if I'm asking what others etc have asked.

My DD has her renewal in January when she turns 5. Sent the renewal forms off yesterday.

Is the renewal timescales the same as COC? Or would it be similar to the new claim times?

Thank you all

From what I've read, the renewal are being done at the time they are due to end.

Yes, they are due to the back log. This has been absolutely ridiculous, as we haven't got enough to worry about.
Hope you get your answers soon and it's what your little one deserves

I told the lady on the phone to update the times to everyone as my letter said up to 15 weeks. Online it says 8-12 weeks and it builds up our hopes and yet they’re telling people who phone 17/18 weeks! They need to keep us all informed if it’s going to be longer than what they are originally saying… my little boy deserves this money so he can have private tuition and engage more socially with others! It’s been a long battle just to get to this stage. X

I know, I said on the last thread- we're waiting on hold an hour or more, probably because so many are calling for updates. Which is not their fault. They may not see anything online and assume it is 15 weeks because that's what the bloody letters say. Be transparent, change the letter template, it's really that simple. It will bring call volumes down and then there's no need for automatic texts and letters.

I appreciate there's people who rely on the money, for the activities and equipment etc little ones need but there's also the recognition. The doors of support this can open because of that recognition.

On the last thread someone posted a link to an article which says the claims have gone up 10s of thousands in recent years. This mainly due to ASD, ADHD and others which were just brushed off years ago.

We're sick of not being listened to at this point. Sick of fighting. I strongly believe some have been put off from even claiming, I know because I was one of them.

I get it's a long wait, I empathise, it's effected me greatly for almost 18 weeks but I understand others like me are in the same queue.
All we ask is the truth, change the bloody letters.
If it wasn't for threads like this and Facebook, I'd have no idea.

Don't loose faith, I've had my mandatory consideration drafted, I was so in doubt.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of you.

Mumto2oneofeach · 29/09/2023 21:03

my son has ADHD & autism I was put off applying for a long time as I didn’t even know help was offered until I spoke to a family friend! Im hoping for a positive outcome like everyone 🤞
if I knew the wait times were this long I probably wouldn’t of bothered applying the anxiety it’s caused me all this waiting is putting me through the mill!
100% agree with the comment! It’s nice to see a recognition for these little ones. I’ve been reading so many things about the decision makers not recognising ADHD as a disability! If this is the case I’m offering them to my house! Xx

Mumofkidsx3 · 29/09/2023 23:56

@Mumto2oneofeach i didn’t claim for 5 years because I didn’t think my son would get it, he is 14 now, got diagnosed at age 10 has ASD and epilepsy and then my younger son was diagnosed at age 7 with adhd and just this April with ASD he’s 9 now. this month they both got DLA medium care rate and low mobility rate. I would never have claimed if I hadn’t lost my job through needing to rush to my son with epilepsy every time he had a seizure, I struggled for 5 years to keep a job going and manage everything. I wish I’d known and had the help and advice before everything fell apart.
Don’t lose hope by the waiting times though because I found out my youngest accepted bang on 17 weeks and my eldest was 1 week later at 18 weeks. The wait doesn’t mean you’ll be turned down. Good luck all 🥰💪

Just wondering has anyone been successful with hrm due to a child's autism involving refusal to walk extreme meltdowns which can cause harm to self and others, I've applied for my son who turned 5 in April. He is already getting hrc but getting him out and about is such hard work and really distressing for him. X

Friend gets mobility for her son, who is very similar, in a meltdown he tries to run and has no danger awareness. Its low rate now although she's asked them to look again recently. She sent a lot of evidence from the pediatrics and the school. Good luck ❤

Jneill2021 · 01/10/2023 11:20

Thank you, good luck to your friend I've sent of another of evidence Including supportive letters from school ect, the waiting is just horrendous been like 5 months and can imagine be another 1 or 2 xx

Zoemelia · 01/10/2023 12:29

SGN04 · 01/10/2023 13:09

Hi all, I’m 14 weeks this coming week , was told 17 weeks will go to DM so we will see how it goes towards the end of the month , does anyone know if a child just under 3 would get mobility For ASD ? Or would it only come under HRM which is less likely ? I’m in full belief it’s not something he would get but It’s nice to know other peoples thoughts and suggestions! Anyone else been in this situation or had these thoughts? ❤️

Zoemelia · 01/10/2023 16:07

with been under 3 he can either get high rete mobility or none I think I may be wrong .. this is my worry as my son isn’t 5 until November 5th

Jneill2021 · 01/10/2023 16:12

I'm pretty sure ypu have to be 3 to recieve hrm and 5 is can recieve either hrm or lrm x

Amazing news! Well done ❤ Get a celebration tea, we had pizza 😁
Still no letter but I've updated UC, knowing I'll be waiting 87 months for them...

Thank you so much! I cried when she told me 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think we will, we definitely need to celebrate. I've just updated our UC as the woman kindly gave me all the dates and rate so thought might as well get that ball rolling for another 4/5 month wait ❤️
