Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lawraahh32 · 02/03/2023 13:46

I don’t have the time to wait on hold for hours to be told not a lot so I’ll just wait until I get a letter. It’s frustrating but not too much longer now

harjinder01 · 02/03/2023 14:25

November case will be this month two weeks or three weeks

Lodol · 02/03/2023 17:24

Hiya
dla said waiting times 12 weeks but see a lot of different timescales. All I provided was a referral letter and lots of written information hoping it is enough. Although when I rang I was told they don’t usually phone the school for further information is this right?
child referred for ADD, Autism and ADHD and potential s/n /brain damage

Daechwita · 02/03/2023 17:39

Can anyone advise, please?
I'm in the process of filling out my DD's 'DLA renewal for a child under 16'.
The form has changed since I last completed it 2 years ago and asks for my daughter's National Insurance number, which they have asked me to quote on all my supporting documents.
Children don't get a National Insurance number until they're 16 and this application is specifically for children under 16...does this make zero sense or am I missing something?!

emilyant · 02/03/2023 17:42

The national insurance number will be at the top of the letters you have from them. Kids get issued an NI number at the point you claim child benefit (if you do) or when you first put in your DLA claim. So it it the ref on your previous letters that starts with two letters.

emilyant · 02/03/2023 17:43

Depends on the DM and the claim. Mine didn’t contact the school. Sounds like you sent some good stuff.
It is taking nearer 16 weeks at the moment.

Ahhh, thank you - I believe I have it now - the format is 2 letters, 6 numbers, 1 letter?

DD's previous DLA application asked for a 'child reference number', with no mention of NI, but it seems they are the same thing.

Dotty765 · 02/03/2023 18:10

I didn't have one of them for our first form? I just put his name and DOB on additional paper oh god dont tell me I've missed something?!?

My son got awarded in the Dec and was turning 5 in the April, so on the letter they already calculated he would be due mobility from the April when he turned 5, so it could say so on your letter already 🤞🏻
The letter was here within a week xx

Thanks so much, hopefully the letter arrives soon. Xx

Hi I'm new here.
My 12 year old son Has a diognosis of ASD and ADHD he's had DLA since he was diognosed at 6 years old he has an EHCP at school.
My youngest son who is 9 tomorrow! is currently waiting to be assesed for ASD/ADHD by CAMHS it's long wait as we know.

I sent his forms off with not as much evidence as I did for my eldiest.
As he hasn't got an official diognosis from CAMHS yet just a diognosis of 'problem behaviour' by the GP (She did the CAMHS refferal for us) so, all I had was a CAMHS referal from GP A CAMHS letter I got with the 'screening' forms and his SEN Plan he has at school and all the info I put on the form He doesn't have an EHCP like his brother but he does have an SEN plan. so I hope its enough!

My scan date was 16/12 so its getting closer and my anxiety is so high and its all I can think of haha! Wish it didnt take so long!

Supermom92 · 02/03/2023 18:50

I no you can claim disabilty element on the uc and carers allowance also but uc take £1 for £1 but what is the disability element please I don't think I've heard of that one ? X

Hi, I didnt send any evidence in with the form i filled out as i didnt have anything at that point, its only because my son whose only 9 escaped school and was placed into a temp 'behaviour school' who have a CAHMS worker onsite mentioned to me about him having autism and adhd and mentioned i could apply for DLA so i did and just filled out hes daily life and sent the forms off, my claim is with the DM now so just waiting to see what happens with the decision but ill update here when i find out x

(Universal credit) You’ll also get an extra amount if any of your children are disabled. You’re eligible for this extra amount no matter how many children you have.
You’ll get:
• £132.89 if your child is disabled
• £414.88 if your child is severely disabled

Severely disabled is high rate care dla xx

DPW89 · 02/03/2023 19:03

Thank you Good luck with your claim! When was your scan date?

Yes, but you have to ask for it. Write in your journal and say you want the child with disability element added and back dated. Also if your child got award mrc or above then you also want to ask for the carers element and for that to be backdated also. They will say it’s to be sent to be assessed and why didn’t you tell them sooner, you’re answer would be that your child has only just been awarded and you told them at the earliest opportunity/as soon as you’ve found out yourself xx

Mumrobyn4 · 02/03/2023 19:23

Is carers allowance more than the carers element or are they the same

Dani006 · 02/03/2023 20:04

Mumrobyn4 · 02/03/2023 19:23

Is carers allowance more than the carers element or are they the same

They're separate things. Carers element is added on to UC (if child has MRC or above) You don't need to claim carers allowance to get the carers element on UC.
You can claim both carers element and carers allowance, but carers allowance is taken £ for £ off UC.

So you can claim carers element alone (£168.81 a month)
Or You can claim carers element and carers allowance together but CA will be deducted from UC and you will get CA separately. Does that make sense? xx

emilyant · 02/03/2023 20:19

Yes - same thing and throat is the right format!

emilyant · 02/03/2023 20:20

Right format - not throat!!

Mumrobyn4 · 02/03/2023 20:33

Ah right I understand now 😂 thanks.

Kimmarris941 · 02/03/2023 20:43

13 weeks yesterday.. longest wait of my life.. just want to know now.. scan date 30/11.. just want to know if I my son has been accepted 😢

AnxietyMumma · 02/03/2023 21:21

I am really struggling with this wait. I've got other things I'm waiting on too. Just constantly waiting and in limbo. If I don't get MRC or HRC my housing can't put me on housing list to be moved. Waiting on an OT assessment as its evident my son needs his own room. The housing need both pieces of evidence to be able to assist

It's he'll here in our current home. We have extremely noisy neighbours and my son can't cope. He's wearing ear muffs inside his own home
