I’ve just rang up they received mine 16th September mines for mobility for my son, It’s been 13 weeks and just been told another 8-9 weeks wait

mammaov3 · 14/12/2022 13:45

@Cody3 😮 is that for new claim ?

KaidensMummy0307 · 14/12/2022 13:50

@Cody3 thats insane! It’s this for a new claim??

Cody3 · 14/12/2022 14:45

@mammaov3 @KaidensMummy0307 no not a new claim my son has been getting middle rate care since last year cause he’s not 5 until jan they sent the forms in august. A total of 21 weeks he said, was a nice bloke as well answered any questions I had

Gemzie1993 · 14/12/2022 15:14

Hi new to this - coc sent the first week of September. Phoned yesterday was told I won’t hear anything until at least the beginning of feb. She said another 7/8 weeks before it’s looked at and then another 4 weeks with the dm. I have a 6 year old autistic/ adhd son. The 6 weeks our holidays our car broke. I was unable to take him out due to his behaviour and danger awareness - we are trying for high rate mobility so I can get him out the house, even to a safe park. Christmas is coming and I’m still worried I won’t be able to get him out the house 🙃

LucasMummy88 · 14/12/2022 16:11

I have just rang, my 2 year old son has been awarded middle rate care until 2025, the decision was made yesterday. Scan date 15th September & it had been with a decision maker since last Friday. Such a relief. Good luck everyone x

Lozzaaaaa · 14/12/2022 16:13

i just wondered does anyone know how UC verify the dla? I told them I have been rewarded and they said they need to verify?

Ollie20 · 14/12/2022 16:37

Sent in my sons DLA form on the 28th September still waiting to hear. My son is currently 2 and a half he has a nurogentic condition he can't weight bear and has deformed feet meaning he can not physically walk. Was told to apply for DLA from his pediatrician. We have supporting evidence and a letter from my sons OT details all the extra care he needs daily from feeding to moving around. Does anyone know when we could likely apply for my sons mobility part of DLA as i have said he is 2 and a half. We are still waiting of hearing regarding his DLA claim. But it's such a long wait. Do they award mobility for under 3's in any circumstances does anyone know. Thank you :)

Has anyone had a decision at the 12 week mark or has everyones been over 13 weeks?

12 weeks and 2 day went to DM. I asked for decision to me delayed as I sent in extra evidence on that day.
evidence arrived at 12 weeks and 4 day at 6:22 in the morning (who knew they were open this early??) and decision made later that same morning.

scan date 12/09/22

Congrats!

I remember we were both concerned as both our children were under 5 ( under 3 even!) and we both got it.
just to show everyone that with the right evidence it is very possible!

by the way I don’t know why I keep coming to this thread as I have my decision already 🙈

I have been reading every single comment for the past 2 months so it is kind of a habit now

Josephsmumma · 14/12/2022 17:26

Hey wanted to say congratulations been fly on wall on this thread and you’ve all kept my anxiety down my sons scan date is 20th September :)

Josephsmumma · 14/12/2022 17:27

@Lozzaaaaa maybe send a copy of the letter when it arrives on your uc journal

mammaov3 · 14/12/2022 17:48

@hoplittlebunnieshophophop thats great news and pretty quick from what iv been reading on here i am crossing my fingers to hear by Christmas maybe its where you live also and what date's they are working on? i am 12 weeks today but i no some people have been waiting much longer.

Gemz8 · 14/12/2022 18:02

@LucasMummy88 congratulations that’s brilliant news! Xx

Josephsmumma · 14/12/2022 18:28

@mammaov3 my fingers are crossed for you lovely x think we are roughly the same waiting time. I’m too scared to phone them so I’m hoping I hear back soon

sadiekt21 · 14/12/2022 20:31

How long did people have to wait for a mandatory reconsideration decision?

LucasMummy88 · 14/12/2022 20:41

Thank you @Gemz8 such a relief!!! I was convinced that he claim was going to get declined x
@hoplittlebunnieshophophop haha I know. I’ve heard how difficult it is to get a claim approved for under 5’s & my son was only 2 in May so I wasn’t hopeful at all. So happy it has all worked out though. We don’t have to reapply until 2025 (when Luca is 5), is that the same for you? X

Cody3 · 14/12/2022 21:25

@Ollie20 i don’t think they give mobility under 3 years old from what I’ve read it’s age 3 for high rate which seems like why you should be able to do if you ring them up and speak with them about it if they don’t send you forms and low rate mobility for over 5 years old. I’m currently waiting for mobility my son already gets care component and is a 21 week wait

hoplittlebunnieshophophop · 14/12/2022 23:13

I don’t know until when, I completely forgot to ask!
I feel bad calling to ask as I’ll find out on the letter soon any way, and calling is only going to make others have longer to wait when they call for more urgent matters.

But boy, I wish I knew
with post office strikes and Christmas time it will probably take ages for the letter to arrive though :(

Ollie20 · 15/12/2022 07:36

@Cody3 Thank you i will wait to see what my son is awarded with. An hopefully if he can't get mobility part yet they will send the forms so we can reapply near the time he turns 3. Which is in 6 months from now. Just with such long waiting times. Might take that long to process this current claim. 😂

Losttheplot1 · 15/12/2022 10:07

Grrrhhh.... I've just called to seek clarification on time scales ( scan date 27/9) due to being hounded by UC again about why I can't work. To be told probably another couple of weeks before being sent to case worker. Whilst on the phone I asked if they received my additional information I sent in on the 1/12. Nope it's been lost and told I should of sent it by recorded post. However due to no postcode the post office wouldn't accept it... Arrgghh

Kayla1988 · 15/12/2022 10:27

Any updates

Mummytolucia · 15/12/2022 10:40
