LanB · 09/12/2022 08:48

I'm 14th too.

Jayda19902022 · 09/12/2022 08:53

@LanB Very Anxious wait isnt it. I don't wanna even call back yet 😩

Jayda19902022 · 09/12/2022 09:04

@Gemz8 I really hope so. I'm so nervous don't wanna call them again x

LanB · 09/12/2022 09:07

I had my daughter's renewal and my son's new claim in around the same time. The renewal was scanned 2 weeks later than the new claim but was processed nearly 3 weeks ago. So that lessened the anxiety somewhat. Now I'm just impatient. When I did my daughters original claim 3 years ago it was 8 weeks from receiving the form to having the payment in my bank. She's now been awarded for 5 years so at least that's one less worry for a while.

Jayda19902022 · 09/12/2022 09:30

@LanB That's good they must have a huge backlog

Jen1988mumof5 · 09/12/2022 10:27

Hi everyone,
Called again this morning and have been awarded HRC and LRM backdated to July. Scan date September 7th. I know there has been quite a few with same scan date. Fingers crossed for you all. Finally got the decision we were hoping for, not ashamed to say I cried. It finally felt like all we are going through has been recognised. Silly I know. Good luck everyone!!

hoplittlebunnieshophophop · 09/12/2022 11:38

Good news for me!
scan date 12 of September
just got a call whilst on hold to talk to them. 0800 number so had a feeling it was them.
it was DM!
lovely lady, asked me questions about my daughter’s sleep and mobility. ( we didn’t apply for mobility as she wasn’t 3 so not sure why this was asked)
she said that a decision will make today and confirmed she will be awarded but doesn’t know what rate yet.

I am so glad as we’ve been impacted so much financially after me having to reduce my hours at work since no nurseries were willing to have my daughter full time.
dla won’t fully make up for the loss but will surely help so I’m very grateful.

good luck everyone x

Gemz8 · 09/12/2022 11:40

@hoplittlebunnieshophophop fantastic news x

Smith19 · 09/12/2022 11:51

Lozzaaaaa · 09/12/2022 12:06

@hoplittlebunnieshophophop Congratulations!! X

Jayda19902022 · 09/12/2022 12:24

Thought I'd call them up. Scan date 14th September.. Going to a decision maker at the weekend I was told. Good luck everyone ☺️

hoplittlebunnieshophophop · 09/12/2022 12:52

Thank you both!

we got HRC! For everyone worried because their child is under 5, it is possible.

some tips for the ones in earlier stages:

  • have a note on your phone where you write all the struggles in daily life, developmental delays etc as they come. It’s easy to forget information so if you have everything in one place you can have a more accurate description of your child struggles when you have to talk about them.
  • ask professionals to include on the reports That your very child is behind her peers developmentally as much as possible. A doctor, therapist etc May think that the description of your child struggles makes it obvious that they are behind, but DMs are not healthcare professionals and my have the mentality that “all children do that” better spelling it out.
  • you can have a lot of reports but if they are very vague the DMs can’t confirm that what you are saying about your child is true. Please ask the professionals to as much details as possible. For example, I mentioned to the paediatrician all my child’s struggles but he was extremely vague on the report like “struggles with social communication “ etc if it was for that report only the DM would have not real picayune of what we go through. I then had other professionals writing more complete reports and had some brilliant one from Speach and language and portage which I’m sure helped a lot.
  • if your are given training for your child behaviour include that too. (I had training about mealtimes and challenging behaviour and sent them the invitation letter
  • complete ASQ questionaire if your child is behind developmentally, ideally with your health visitor and send That too. Ask your Health visitor or download it from the internet.
  • mine didn’t but some health visitors are happy to make reports
  • how was your life affected by your child disabilities? Did you give up work? Reduced hours? Are your extremely isolated socially because you are not able tonteáveis the house? Include that information too! If you can have proof of this better (eg. Nursery letter explaining they have to reduce your child hours or that your child had to leave due to them not being able to support them.) have everything documented !

hope this helps anyone

best of luck to all waiting

Gemz8 · 09/12/2022 13:20

@hoplittlebunnieshophophop aww that’s brilliant news. Am I right in thinking to receive HRC it has to be during the night that you provide care too? Hopefully others will have some more good news today too. Fingers crossed for everyone x

That’s right.
my daughter wakes up multiple times at night and gets out of bed and wonders around. If we are not with her she may open the hot water in the bath, climb the stair gate, sit on baby brother and god knows what else.

We didn’t have any evidence of this from professionals so wasn’t sure if they would take my word only.
DM asked me about her sleep today and I was lucky that they believed me ☺️

Fah66 · 09/12/2022 14:06

Have you heard anything? I am the same as you scan dste 7sept

Gemz8 · 09/12/2022 14:16

@hoplittlebunnieshophophop yeah definitely harder to gather evidence for. That’s amazing news though and good that they listened to you x

Jen1988mumof5 · 09/12/2022 15:34

@Jayda19902022 @Chanlou @Gemz8 thank you all. This thread has been so useful to me and kept me going on days I felt it was useless. Fingers crossed for you Chanlou. Good luck all still waiting.
