I have just spoken with someone that said new claims are taking 13-15 weeks. Honestly, they say something different every single time, it’s so frustrating!

Lozzaaaaa · 08/12/2022 12:20

@LucasMummy88 I was told 12 on Monday lol x

Lozzaaaaa · 08/12/2022 12:50

@LucasMummy88 I wish I knew what office my form was in haha x

MummaOfUniqBoy · 08/12/2022 12:52

I am on week 22 now and my scan date was July 12th, change of circumstances....and still it hasn't gone to a decision maker. It's just so utterly frustrating! I doubt I shall hear before January.

Unicorn2022 · 08/12/2022 13:02

My scan date was 5 October and I just got a text saying "We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it." I have also had two letters telling me my claim is in progress. This is a renewal claim.

Smith19 · 08/12/2022 13:15

How long was everyone waiting please when it was with the decision maker?
Do you also get disability element back dated or only from the date you apply

Chanlou · 08/12/2022 13:17

Hi guys, I've been lurking on this post for a while now I just wanted to give you all my updates so far regarding DLA

July 29th sent off a new claim
Stamped and recieved by DLA office September 7th
I started phoning from 8 weeks (as the letter stated)
Last Wednesday (12 weeks since stamp date) I was told to call back this Monday 5th December - I called in the morning and the lady said it's still not with a decision maker and to not call again before Friday & that new claims are taking up to 15 weeks at the moment, she was quite rude and not very helpful so I decided to call back just before they closed on Monday where I was told it was in fact with a decision maker and had gone to them that day.

Tuesday 6th - was told that no decision has been made yet and I'll recieve a text

Wednesday 7th - still no decision and I will receive a text

Thursday (today)- I was told that it was still with the DM and to keep checking my bank because the payment and letter are sent out at the same time but you'll see the payment go in before the letter reaches you. I asked about a text and she said she's put down that I want a text sent out to me.

Still no idea on time frames whatsoever. It's so frustrating!

The people that work there are compulsive liars. I’m in the middle of a renewal for my boys, their current claim ends the 15/01 the woman I spoke to in November said they are a month in front and I’d have a decision by the start-middle of December. I tried my luck and phoned today and was told I’m looking at the first week of January. With all the bank holidays I’m so scared a decision won’t be made in time.

LanB · 08/12/2022 14:08

I sent a renewal for my daughter, scanned in on 27th September, her award was due to run out 14th December. I received a letter of confirmation of her new award about 2 weeks ago. They were leaving them until the week before claim was due to run out, so cutting it fine but still getting it done. I wouldn't worry too much. Renewals are in a different pile to new claims and as you sent it back in good time it will be processed before the original award runs out.

Chanlou · 08/12/2022 14:16

Have you heard anything today? X

Chanlou · 08/12/2022 14:17

BlueBellIris · 07/12/2022 20:00

I’m 7th September scan date. So 13 weeks today. Heard nothing so far

Have you heard anything today? X

ImAboyMum · 08/12/2022 14:32

Thanks doll, it’s my first renewal and I’m really nervous about it all, because of the timing with all the bank holidays around Christmas and new year

Smith19 · 08/12/2022 15:48

Scan date 12th sep just had a text to say my sons qualifies so happy 😊

LucasMummy88 · 08/12/2022 15:49

@Lozzaaaaa honestly it’s so annoying, I just wish they’d all get their stories straight. The guy on the phone just said that they are dealing with a back log of 30,000 claims so they’re taking up to 15 weeks for decisions. Hopefully I’ll hear by Christmas although that may be wishful thinking ha x

Lozzaaaaa · 08/12/2022 16:39

@LucasMummy88 I know! I’m still hoping for next week but it’s looking more and more doubtful isn’t it! X

BlueBellIris · 08/12/2022 17:58

@Chanlou just it's with a decision maker

Lozzaaaaa · 08/12/2022 18:51

@Smith19 Congratulations! X

Mumof2Asd1 · 08/12/2022 19:40

Hi everyone (first application scan date 7th October) I got this text today from DLA does it mean that a DM has picked it up or is that wishful thinking?!

We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it.

LucasMummy88 · 08/12/2022 19:47

Hi @Mumof2Asd1 Unfortunately that is just a generic message that gets sent out to everyone. The way things are going, I’d say it will be looking like January for your decision x

Losttheplot1 · 08/12/2022 19:48

Had this twice now and I think it's to try and keep the phone lines free...😥 .my scan date is the 27th September and have consistently been told 12-14 weeks. So not expecting to hear any time soon. Even though I could do with some positive news right now.

Lozzaaaaa · 09/12/2022 07:58

Good luck today x

Jayda19902022 · 09/12/2022 08:13

Scan date 14th Sept.... Still waiting 🥺
So anxious

Jayda19902022 · 09/12/2022 08:14

I was told I will kno by 14 weeks

Lozzaaaaa · 09/12/2022 08:18

Hey I’m 17th, the wait is horrible isn’t it x
