Hi all, I have just sent off my new evidence and argument off for mandatory reconsideration. It's gone off special delivery and will be definitely there by tomorrow. Does anybody know how long the Mandatory reconsiderations take to sort? Hoping to be accepted and have a bit of extra cash for Christmas lol xx

LucasMummy88 · 09/12/2022 17:02

I’ve just spoken with a lovely lady that said my claim has gone to a decision maker today. Scan date is the 15th September x

Gemz8 · 09/12/2022 17:08

@LucasMummy88 aww my boys called Lucas too! Everything crossed for you. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long. My date was 14th sept so I’m hoping to hear something soon but too scared to phone haha x

Mummytolucia · 09/12/2022 17:26

@sadiekt21 I have recently done a mandatory consideration. They sent me a text after receiving it saying it could take up to 4 weeks. Mine took 3 weeks and 2 days, hope this helps x

Kaylisa · 09/12/2022 18:04

Hi all, I haven’t commented before but have been reading all the comments for the last week or so.
I applied for my 14yr old (15 next week) and my just turned 7yr old.
rang for the forms aug 1st and they were received 8th sept.
I got a phone call 2 days ago from them asking for some information on my 7yr old. The lady was lovely. I answered her questions. She said I should hear within 7-10 days. I asked her about my other daughters claim but she said she couldn’t tell me anything about that as she didn’t have it.
I decided to ring today at 4pm to see if there was any update on my 14yr olds as I hadn’t heard a thing. Took about half hour to get through. He said she hasn’t qualified unfortunately and that when I get the letter I can do the Mandatory reconsideration which I will be doing.
I then asked about my 7yr old and he said she has qualified for high rate care, no mobility. He said the money should be in my account early next week and is backdated to 3rd august. Then the following pay date will be the 10th jan.
I can’t quite believe it! I’m hoping he hasn’t read it wrong, I really hope the letter comes soon for confirmation! He didn’t say how long awarded for and I forgot to ask.
The lady on Wednesday who rang me said they have about 60,000 claims to get through and the wait time is about 12-15 weeks for new claims.

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear

Gemz8 · 09/12/2022 18:09

@Kaylisa fantastic news congratulations! Definitely appeal for your 14 year old. Good luck x

sadiekt21 · 09/12/2022 18:17

How did you get on with the mandatory reconsideration?

MichelleG78 · 09/12/2022 18:27

@sadiekt21 Unfortunately they didn’t change their decision so I am now in the process of an appeal. I wish you the best of luck with yours x

Kaylisa · 09/12/2022 18:31

Thank you, yes I will. She actually has a diagnosis unlike my 7yr old so will hopefully go through on MR.

Lozzaaaaa · 09/12/2022 18:32

mammaov3 · 10/12/2022 19:31

Hi im new to this thread iv been reading through my scan date is 23rd September and it will be 13 weeks for my sons new claim on the 24th of December so im not holding my breath now to hear anything untill after Christmas or maybe into new year 😪 i did ring dla yesterday and the lady wasn't that helpful, she seid its been with decision makers since 21st of October 🙄 and she told me new claims are 12 weeks ?? witch confused me as only 3 weeks ago they seid new claims are taking 13 weeks , im not hopeful becouse i only had evidence of diagnosis but other than that not much support letters only one from his nursery and family worker, my sons 4 in January and i tried getting a support letter of his health visitor but she has been blanking me for 8 months now even when i have had concerns about my sons weight, its very frustrating the whole process, myself i suffer with a anxiety disorder and depression and bpd and waiting on things like this makes me physically poorly , i just hope i hear something in the next couple of weeks.

Kaylisa · 10/12/2022 20:47

@mammaov3 I commented yesterday on here that I found out yesterday over the phone that one of my daughters didn’t qualify but one did. The one who did hasnt got a diagnosis, I sent in no supporting evidence just filled in the form the best I could. Didn’t get anyone to fill in the bit to say they knew her/what she is like. She has been referred to the cdc by school and gp but when I sent the form she hadn’t been.
hopefully you will be successful. And appeal if you are not. Just wanted to comment and let you know that you have sent in more than I did so don’t lose hope 🤞🏻 Good luck! X

mammaov3 · 10/12/2022 20:52

@Kaylisa thank you for your reply it makes me feel better knowing this , i will update as soon as i fine out the outcome 😊 🤞
