Fah66 · 02/12/2022 17:12

I hung up. The wait was killing me. Nearly fell asleep waiting for them to answer. My scan date was 7 sept. Hopefully hear something soon

Tribaladventuremummy · 02/12/2022 18:29

Mine is with the decision maker - should be made by Monday they said scan date 6/9

Mummytogirls87 · 02/12/2022 19:03

@Tribaladventuremummy good luck 🤞xx

Wintersmummy96 · 02/12/2022 22:04

How long after the text ‘ we are still looking at your child claim’ did you hear back from them? I received the letter 13th November then got that text today

SRog · 02/12/2022 22:07

I haven’t received any text messages so can’t advise. My claim is nearly at 13 weeks ( Monday ) from when they scanned it in.

Mine will be 10 weeks Monday

parsniiips · 03/12/2022 06:29

I have been waiting 20 weeks for a decision on a change of circumstances, scan date was late July.

This is absolutely ridiculous we are in a cost of living crisis and many parents of disabled children are unable to work (myself included) and money is being withheld for this long Confused

parsniiips · 03/12/2022 06:30

Does anyone know whether the DLA phone lines are open at weekend?

Shellbel10 · 03/12/2022 08:46

Don’t think the phone lines are open

Mummyof2girlys · 03/12/2022 10:16

Been waiting 14 weeks now for a decision (scanned 26th aug) from what I know it’s been with DM since 25th nov. Each person tells you a different thing so I just give up phoning now. I was originally told I’d know after the first weekend. I only want to know so I know asap if got put in MR and appeal if they reject my child’s application. It’s very stressful waiting x

Mummyof2girlys · 03/12/2022 10:16

@parsniiips pretty sure phone lines only open mon-fri 9-5 x

Shellbel10 · 03/12/2022 10:33

Is anyone on here going through mandatory reconsideration

Poniesandproseccobubbles · 03/12/2022 12:21

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for all of you who are waiting or going through MR 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I so hope you get the right answers soon x

Does anyone who has already been awarded know how long it takes for UC to process the backdated amount they owe? I contacted them the day I was awarded (22nd November) both on my journal and by telephone, to inform them of the change. They have said since then that it’s been with a DM for over a week now. Anyone have any experience on how long it takes to get the backdated UC payment? My scan date for DLA was 19th August, so presumably I’ll get the disabled child element and carers element of UC backdated to this date?

NooriesMum · 03/12/2022 13:25

I have received letter for daughters claim. Supposed to be renewal but missed deadline. Scan date 02/09. Never received call or txt and I didn't call (was anxious they will tell me off for missing deadline) but had backdated payment on 01/12 and letter today. She was awarded HRC and LRM.

First time claiming for son, scan date 01/09 have not had any updates on this. Thinking I will call them this time. But it seems there isn't a definite timeframe for claims.

dandymum · 03/12/2022 14:09

@Poniesandproseccobubbles mu uc told me there’s no date on when a descision will be made and it’s with 2 seperate dms x

Gemz8 · 03/12/2022 14:11

Are you suppose to let UC know when you apply for DLA or just if awarded? I’m seeing a lot of problems getting backdated. I don’t understand why it would have to go to a DM surely it should just be back dated like DLA is? Xx

Lozzaaaaa · 03/12/2022 15:02

Has anyone heard anything today? X

Tribaladventuremummy · 03/12/2022 15:50

For our carer element to be awarded and back dated it took less than a week from
notifying them to payment in the bank.

Tribaladventuremummy · 03/12/2022 15:52

Just when it’s awarded, the date it was awarded from and it will be back dated to that assessment period, just depends how proactive the person is who is looking at your journal. Always do as a change of circumstance, then add a note to your journal it’s quicker this way I find

dandymum · 03/12/2022 16:02

@Tribaladventuremummy I had to ask for my to be backdated when I did my change of circumstances x

Salll3 · 03/12/2022 18:14

Does anyone no if when you phone tax credits and the disability element is added on and backdated do you receive a lump sum like with DLA or do they pay it over increasing your payments x

Zacksmom91 · 03/12/2022 18:47

iv had a phone call to ask if my son has travelled abroad in the past 3 years … obviously due to covid and his I’ll health he hasn’t but I also haven’t received a text either xx
