I just called as my scan date was 17th August so it's been over 14 weeks now.

The lady I spoke to was so lovely, and I'm so happy I rang- DS has been awarded MRC for 2 years, backdated to 12th July.

I was so afraid they were going to decline the application, especially since I had so little evidence to send- I filled in the form, an extra sheet of information and included a report from the community paediatrician that started his referral process. I actually cried when she told me it had been processed, the waiting and not knowing has been a struggle.

I hope everyone hears back soon for their claims! 🤞

Thank you ❤️ It really is a weight off, things have been so hard and it just feels like you have to have a meltdown yourself to get any help for your kids when they're struggling. This will make such a difference for us.

Long time lurker! And first time post! My scan date is the 12th of Sep. So a few weeks left yet! I have received my son's blue badge and wanting to sent the letter I received as extra evidence. I can not find the Freepost address anywhere! Could anyone help? Please 😊

hi I have been following this post. I am awaiting decision I called them today they received my form 18th August and it has been with a DM since 18th Nov. I sent in his pediatric report. his neurologist reports. he has significant motor delays. and we are currently awaiting genetics to see if he has sma type 3b.(muscular atrophy). when I called today she wasn't very helpful and said call back next week. will I get a text or an update on my journal In my UC. as I have seen some posts that say the decision came up in their journal. Andy advice appreciated. it been a long anxious wait. as you all kno. x tia

Does anybody know how they backpay delayed claims?

I am still waiting for a decision from July, will I get each month I have been waiting back paid?

It will be backdated to the day you called for the forms or if you printed them yourself the day they scanned them.

As for a text, not everyone receives a text or any form of notification that they have been awarded other than a letter which usually arrives after a payment. I would just keep raining everyday, you won’t get the same person so don’t worry about speaking to anyone who’s rude or unhelpful! I’m not sure about the UC journal as they are two separate things so I think it’s unlikely you’d find out via that x

Just rang up as it’s been 15 weeks today and DLA has not been awarded to my daughter. Sent in ASD and ADHD diagnosis sheets, SENCo sheets, etc. and wrote ‘war and peace’ on her daily struggles yet absolutely nothing. Haven’t attempted to claim for the last 10 years as I didn’t know about DLA, never claimed anything from the Government in my life and not likely to either. Where is the fairness and consistency in that?

I did it I got my boy what he deserves MRC and LRM until his 16th birthday i literally can’t stop crying my scan date was the 24th Aug was awarded 2days ago

Fight it! I have also sent in new claim for my daughter i also have a feeling they will decline. Fight it

@MTJ Im guessing mine will be a NO then cos i sent in exactly same as you, it’s so hard to explain on a form just how hard it is everyday and then expect some stranger to understand. i will fight it all the way and i hope your going to do the same. I have heard ppl been awarded without evidence at all thou

fight it. They received my forms on 14th September so I think I’ve still got a long wait yet. I feel although I’ve sent enough evidence off I’ve not written enough on the forms explaining how complex his needs are because my head just felt like it was going to explode with it all. I’m fully expecting to get a no. Don’t give up though x

Rang for an update this morning, scanned 26th aug and been told it’s now with DM. Nervous is an understatement. Good luck to all waiting. X

@Mummyof2girlys scan date the 26th too I rang this morning and was told the same. Fingers crossed it’s not much longer I just want to know now ! I’ll update as soon as I get an answer x

still no decision on my children DS and DD scan dates 23/24 August.
Does any backdated money always go in first thing or did someone say they had an afternoon payment ?

What the number to call for an update? I might try but feel nervous about calling

Hi Everyone we are on week 9 we had a letter two weeks ago saying sorry we haven't made a decision yet, but this morning got a text saying this...We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it. Has anybody else had a text saying this. Thanks

I’ve not had a text just 2 letters saying sorry I’m nearly on week 12 now x

Payment made between 3 and 5 days mine was in within 3 woke up to it. I was awarded and laid bang on 13 weeks and 1 day. Good luck to you all still waiting. P.s my scan date was 23rd August x
