But if I am it's probably going to be very slow!

Having got to sleep at 12.30am (ish) last night I woke up at 2.30 and have been up ever since! I think I might have been woken up by a contraction.

Anyway, next one wasn't until 3.45am, then they came at half hourly intervals until about 7am, but haven't had any since... however I am feeling a great deal of pressure in my pelvic area.... here's hoping!

you could even use a webcam

RTKangaMummy · 30/07/2005 22:40

only joking btw

hunkermunker · 30/07/2005 22:41

Might... Would be like Jordan (was it?) planned, but without the scary webcam

Might end up with ugsjdkbgsf vsbnawe xcfweh where I lean heavily on the keyboard mid-contraction though

MrsGordonRamsay · 30/07/2005 22:41

Well on that note I will go to bed also, I was prepared to keep vigil with you, you are such an ungrateful wretch

hunkermunker · 30/07/2005 22:41

Night, Miaou - hope to hear from you in a couple of days rather than the morning!

Positive labour vibes headed your way xxxxxxxxxx

Miaou · 31/07/2005 10:26

Well - I'm still here

Thanks for the vigil offer LGJ, very kind of you! But the last contraction I mentioned was the last one for the night

When I woke up this morning I realised I am now into my sixth day of stop/start labour! Really really trying not to get fed up about it but I have to say it is getting harder. Dh is very good at helping me see the funny side of it though

Today is my due date. At the beginning of the week I really thought I'd have a baby by now!

Don't feel you have to post on here, it's probably getting very boring for everyone , it's just very therapeutic for me to be able to get this out of my system! (Plus I shall probably print this out at some point and show it to said baby as proof of what I went through!!!)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh god ds3 was like this. Went on for WEEKS. Lots of middle of the night postings from me on here from late dec.

My midwife said it was really common in 3rd pregnancies....

Miaou · 31/07/2005 11:06

Weeks???? Didn't it drive you insane, jimjams?

bensmum3 · 31/07/2005 11:31

miaou, I didnt tell anyone, but I had a false alarm about 2 weeks before ds was born, at home , about 3am, contractions, rushing to the loo, boy did I think I was going to be in trouble .
I think 3rd children have to start making themselves heard even before they are born,
really excited for you, keep up the good work, I'm sure baba will come when s/he is ready, get dh to have the ferrymen on standby ! hugs to you all

Miaou · 31/07/2005 11:59

hehe, I can just imagine the look on the GP's face if she'd known!

huge sympathies, oops - it gets pretty downheartening, doesn't it? (not sure if that's a word, actually!) Like I keep telling people, I don't mind if I am or I'm not, it's this am I/aren't I situation that's driving me mad!

This one's my third - and the more I read the more I find out that this is not unusual! What about you?

Miaou - You still here? Hopefully not!!

Miaou · 31/07/2005 17:51

Still here. Keep having the odd mild contraction but that's all.

I have cleared out some drawers and a wardrobe for the baby's clothes and nappies, cleaned the kitchen, mopped the floor, done some washing and hung it out on the line ... all in the hope of getting things moving again! Positive result of this is that the baby's head feels a little more engaged (it keeps bobbing in and out), so I'm hoping that the increased pressure on my pelvis may help to get things going .

JOSIE3 · 31/07/2005 17:59

Oh hun!! Have you tried a birthing ball? (sounds like you've tried everything else )

hunkermunker · 31/07/2005 18:01

Try hoping the baby's not born until Friday!

Seriously, hope that you are well in labour in about ten minutes and on your way to a Sunday night baby (I can do wishful thinking, see!).

Miaou · 31/07/2005 18:01

Bounced on one while I was in the hospital earlier this week, but don't have one at home (or anywhere near here to get one). I keep going up and down the stairs and rocking back and forth though, hope that works!

OP posts:
Miaou · 31/07/2005 18:03

thanks hunker! If it did come today it would be one of only 5% that arrive on their due date!

Actually, I have been trying to wish it coming later on in the week - reverse psychology and all that - like when you put your washing out and hope it doesn't rain when deep down you know damn well it will

Chandra · 31/07/2005 18:56

Oh Miaou! still around?, I was expecting an anouncement by Mr. Miaou.

Hope it won't be long but in the mean time... have lots of rest (yes, I know, it's about getting things moving but maybe next Sunday you will be wondering why you didn't rest a bit more before.

MrsGordonRamsay · 31/07/2005 18:59

FGS, woman are you still here ???

Miaou · 31/07/2005 19:06

Fraid so, Mrs GR. I'm thinking of taking bets on how many more mnetters will give birth before I manage it
