Been getting pains all evening, just been to loo and wiped and there was bloody discharge (aware could be because of internal) - Consultant was convinced I would be going soon when he did internal today - I am praying that tonight is the night as I am fed up!

Did anyone else have bloody discharge (not a show) pre-labour?

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 04/02/2009 16:36

Oooh, we should all go. We'll make banners and pom poms and things! I had rubbish mobile reception from my post c-section ward.

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 16:37

some of the post natal ward and ante not so good for coverage. think it is a conspiracy so you have to pay ££££££ for that patient line phone thingie

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 04/02/2009 16:37

Yes, dahling, t'is me. I was in the second row, this time last week.

I went twice - the seventh time I've seen them. Dh is mortfied. Dd loves Hangin' Tough though!

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 16:38

i hope you wore a sparkly tracksuit !

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 04/02/2009 16:39

Of course. It was sparkly AND velour.

Only joking, I did wear a very low cut top though. [shallow emoticon]

LackaDAISYcal · 04/02/2009 16:43

bugger, I went out to pick DS up from school and missed more excitement.

Good Luck PGNo3; will tune in later for your news

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 16:46

not heard anything yet....

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 16:50

But she'll be in delivery though won't she?

I dunno how it works (I never understood it tbh), what do you do in a labour ward?

dizzydixies · 04/02/2009 16:52

how on earth have I managed to miss this?

PGNo3 hope you're doing well, we can't wait to meet Camille

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 16:53

deliver your baby, starlight ! tis just a lot of rooms with birthy stuff.. you deliver there then transfer to post natal

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 17:06

Ah, so labour ward and delivery are the same place?

Thank god for that. It would be barbaric to have a ward full of labouring women all sharing the same room (although I'm sure I saw this on one of my hospital tours )

MKG · 04/02/2009 17:10

I wonder what pwn3 is doing now.

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 17:14

Well, she got comfortable on her knees on the bed and is ijn good spirits. She's still waiting for her admission check, but her lovely mw thinks she still has a little while to go so is leaving her in peace. Her DH has just popped to the loo.

I spent 2 weeks on the ante-natal ward. A few of were there long term, for monitoring etc But most days there was someone who had come in "too early" so they stick you there until you are in established labour. I spent many a night listening to huffing/puffing/moaning/fetal monitor and quivering in fear! When they induced me, I asked for a private room. I wanted to do my huffing and puffing in private

psychomum5 · 04/02/2009 17:19

do you know how selfsih this is, not letting us know what is going on.....

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 17:21

am trying to communicate telepathically, but it is not working

i reckon she is 'cracking on', as we say in teh trade, swearing at her DH and sucking on that G&A like no tomorrow

psychomum5 · 04/02/2009 17:22

bet she is not for sharing.............

MKG · 04/02/2009 17:37

I'm intrigued by this whole gas and air thing you ladies have over there. Is it really as wonderful as I hear?

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 17:45

Yes MKG. It's wonderful, but only if you're not in pain.

For some reason it didn't do anything for the cxs, but, since I was allowed to stock up on it for the stitches I quite enjoyed it then.

I think for me, I need to start inhaling at the end of the last contraction for it to have any affect when the next comes.

At least, the mw was astonished when after 10 mins of sucking I still said I wasn't quite ready for her to stick the needle in my fanjo. 15mins did it though, and 20mins had me giggling at the lyrics to twinkle twinkle little star.

BecauseImWorthIt · 04/02/2009 17:46

I think G&A should be available in every pub.

ShowOfHands · 04/02/2009 17:48

It's crap MKG. They gave it to me while we waited for the anaesthetist for the spinal. DH says I started swearing like a trooper and barking. I remember the room spinning and believing that it was all a conspiracy. Pain did not lessen. Threw mouthpiece at SA surgeon and told him to go and grow a fanny. Apparently.

It wasn't my finest moment.

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 17:49

My wierd DH agreed to have a go on the TENS but not the G&A?

psychomum5 · 04/02/2009 17:51

MKG..........as long as you give G&A a chance (unlike some softies that give in at the first bout of sickness), it is better than 10 G&Ts!!!

altho DS1 did not seem keen on using it while in labour with him................I was sick with it while labouring with him
