I can't believe this may be a full moon baby! I've had strong back feelings going on all afternoon, then in the evening they moved to the front and now its period ouchy and regular...

no idea what to say to you but hope everything goes smoothly for you. Called the midwife yet?

VanessaParody · 11/01/2009 02:12

Ooh how exciting! It does sound like you're starting. It'll be a lovely sparkly trip to the hospital (unless you're homebirthing or labour takes aaaaaages) because the moon is so bright.

But sadly, I have to get to bed. Very best wishes.

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:12

nope , have had three scares so this time it has to be a show or waters breaking before I dare go in again!

ooooh how lovely and fab.

Now then love, tell me all about it.

LargeGlassofRed · 11/01/2009 02:13

ooh exciting, are you going to hospital or home?

thumbwitch · 11/01/2009 02:14

are you timing it? Not that i'd know how it goes, one set of Braxton Hicks and then nothing until being induced..

S1ur · 11/01/2009 02:16

And breeeeathe.

Imagine a feather and you are gently puffing the pain away (or am I thinking of a spliff )

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:16

its a vbac, so hospital it is. I've had strong braxton hicks on and off since 35 weeks; am now 39+2. I've been in to be monitored 4 times now, with one overnighter, so want to be really sure before I call out the troops! Have 20mo DD so need my mum to come over if this is it...

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:18

They are for 1 min every 3 mins at the moment. Ouchy but not catch your breath painful. Too much to try and sleep through if you know what I mean. I know when this happens you are meant to go to bed, but its worse lying down.

OP posts:
fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:19

slur, got fat cheech and chong type spliff firmly in mind now.

OP posts:
LargeGlassofRed · 11/01/2009 02:20

Do you think you can get some sleep?, this usually works for me, you'll either be up again very quick if it is labour or get a good rest if it isn't.

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:21

does anyone know how long I can safely wait before going to hospital (they wanted me in in early labour for vbac, but know they'll monitor me for 40 mins as soon as I go in so don't want it to splutter out while they do the paranoia charts).

OP posts:
LargeGlassofRed · 11/01/2009 02:22

sorry crossed threads def sounds like its it would head off soon if they re 3 mins apart

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:22

LGR, I know you talk sense, but it hurts when I lie down, and doesn't if I'm sitting up. [pathetic emoticon].

OP posts:
fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:23

eek. I thought this bit could last for hours?

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 11/01/2009 02:23

can't you phone them? they might be able to tell you.

LargeGlassofRed · 11/01/2009 02:24

ooh really would head in if they want to monitor early labour if you,ve been having alot of braxtonhicks on the lead up, you may go quite quick.

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:24

its true, but they'll also say come in and I wanted to 'make sure' this is it as I've had some pretty strong braxton hicks every night now for nearly a week. not ouchy though, this is new.

OP posts:
fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:25

and DP very fed up with the possible labours. I think I'm going to wait and see if it gets more painful...

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 11/01/2009 02:26

if it's different, I would think about going in then.
And, althoguh I know I am not representative, my stage 2 labour pains were about 3 mins apart, never got any closer together...

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:27

ok, you've got me a bit worried now. going to get stuff ready in case I need to move fast. To be fair my mum is only 30 mins away and I'm 10 mins from the hospital, so pretty quick transfer.

OP posts:
LargeGlassofRed · 11/01/2009 02:28

if they are getting more painful would really go in,
I'm the worlds worse though always leave it till the last min as never really sure

if they were braxton's though you wouldn't get more pain when you lie down

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:32

if I go in and am not very dilated, I'm stuck there with the clock ticking towards a caesarean, which I truly want to avoid - they'll give me an hour a centimeter

OP posts:
nula · 11/01/2009 02:33

how does it compare to your previous labour(s)?

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:33

just wish there was some way of knowing.
