oooh Scorpio........very excited by your pain

had strangers fingers in fanjo sweep. Am 2cm dilated, cervix is mid-position and soft, baby is 2/5s. Hospital next Thurs........

MW doesn't think I am incubating an elephant (hence 22 months gestation) but I think she is WRONG.

MerlinsBeard · 18/04/2008 13:36

did you find out your boshops score DonDons? aparently the closer you are to 10 the more likely it is to work...i think.

MerlinsBeard · 18/04/2008 13:37

bishop not boshop!

DonDons · 18/04/2008 13:38

no - she never mentioned that and no reference in my notes.....

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 14:30

now this is perking up a bit

am tres excited about scorpio's pain

am also tres excited about dondon's soft cervix.

I shall make a celebratory round of cream scones I think

jam?

VictorianSqualor · 18/04/2008 14:39

Don't know about your effacement dondons but bishops score calculation based on what you've said is probably around 5ish.
To get the best bishops score cervix needs to be anterior (you're mid-position, which is -quite obviously- midway between anterior and posterior)
Cervix is soft, which is good, and you're about half-way with the station of baby (2/5 engaged) and the dilation (2cms).
Each bit of bishops score is allocated between 0-3 points, so the two midway bits are about 2points, the soft cervix 3 points, then there is effacement on there too.
If you google bishops score it'll tell you more about it.
Mine was about 6 for quite a while though and some people have scores of 2 or 3 then have the baby hours later, so it's not an exact science.
Get taking EPO to ripen it more!

DonDons · 18/04/2008 14:50

Thanks for the info - can't believe you are on here helping me when you have your gorgeous boy to play with! You are so kind!.

Have been on the EPO for about a week now (oral - 1000mg a day) have been a bit wary of inserting them vaginally though.

Keep getting shooting pains now and mucus plug has started to come away.

Piccalilli2 · 18/04/2008 14:58

Nooo! Very glad for you both that things seem to be happening but it's NOT FAIR I don't want to be the only ridiculously pregnant person left on the thread!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 14:58
DonDons · 18/04/2008 15:05

I'm determined to be on ward with you Picalilli! You're booked in on Monday right? I'll be on Whirlow....

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 15:07

if you two do it together, we could get two birth updates from one text message

Piccalilli2 · 18/04/2008 15:11

Yep, I'm on Whirlow too. I'm going in Monday morning so with a bit of luck should be on the ward Monday night. I'm bringing plenty of chocolate

DonDons · 18/04/2008 15:20

Ayomi · 18/04/2008 15:28

Piccalilli2 · 18/04/2008 16:46
